Japanese Breakfast - "Machinist" - Hopscotch Music Festival (Neptune's, Raleigh NC, 9/9/17)

This band was my highlight of Hopscotch 2017. Having an affinity for indie-pop, the soft-ish sounds of their new CD made me decide to make this my closing act. But were they so much more! Singer Michelle Zauner was an unexpected force onstage; all the good things about live music. It felt like watching somebody like Annie Clark before she was "discovered".
