Here are three reasons why Diana (the Queen of Goosebumps) doesn't sound human. First, she is a contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. Sí, absolutamente único y espectacular, ¿no? ¡18 años aquí e impresionantemente bueno! ¡Pero esto es solo la punta del iceberg que es la inmensa agilidad vocal y el increíble talento de Diana Ankudinova! ¡Cualquier canción, cualquier género, cualquier idioma, Diana podría tomarlo y hacer que suene drásticamente diferente y mejorarlo también! Diana ya ha escrito letras y compuesto música para sus propias canciones originales y ¡también son increíbles! Mira su álbum "D.A." que tiene excelentes canciones! La parte más impresionante de Diana es por lo que ha pasado para llegar aquí. Diana tiene 19 años actualmente, pero la he estado siguiendo desde alrededor de los 13 años. Diana es una contralto dramática natural, por lo que los registros más bajos son su zona de confort, pero ahora tiene un rango de 4 octavas y está aumentando. La madre biológica de Diana tuvo múltiples abortos espontáneos, pero cuando apareció Diana, parecía odiarla. Ella abusó de ella verbal y físicamente, tratando de matarla ahogándola y menospreciándola. Todo culminó cuando (a los 3 años) la arrastró a una parada de autobús con una clavícula rota y la abandonó, diciendo "Sobrevive si puedes". Un pariente la encontró y la acogió, pero como lloraba constantemente (naturalmente con una clavícula rota), la llevó a las autoridades, quienes sacaron a Diana del cuidado de su madre biológica y la colocaron en un orfanato. Durante casi 2 años, Diana nunca perdió la esperanza y sabía que estaba destinada a algo mejor. (Esta historia está en su entrada de Wikipedia) Finalmente, su nueva madre (Irina Ponik, que trabajaba como masajista allí ocasionalmente) firmó los papeles de adopción y se la llevó a casa. Ella prometió devolverle a Irina su amabilidad. Irina tuvo una verdadera lucha porque Diana obviamente se había visto muy afectada por las experiencias y, a los 5 años, tartamudeaba muy mal. Se recomendó que la llevaran a clases de canto para ayudar con esto e inmediatamente se reconoció que Diana tenía un tono perfecto y un excelente oído para la música y las canciones. ¡1 año después, a los 6 años, Diana estaba actuando sola en el escenario! Este joven fenómeno único cantó en todas partes y en cualquier lugar que pudo, trabajando constantemente para ganar dinero para la familia que la rescató. The song is filled with deep meaning. Many singers sang it, there are many covers and samples, but only Diana sang it as a requiem. A gloomy, dark, even hopeless conclusion that this love cannot be avoided and it will not be happy.

Diana, the unique singer and songwriter in Russia was born in May, 31. 2003 in the Far East of Russia. (www says she is between 1.66 -1.70m/ 5.5 - 5.7 ft tall.) She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had many pregnancies, only Diana survived... and she did not love her child, cruelly abused it and tried to drown it. The 3 year old child was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and taken to an orphanage. There she finally found love ... from Irina Ponik, a massagetherapist. Taking a young child into the family was not easy for Irina. Her son was already 20 years old, daughter Nastya 17 years... Now start all over again? Yes!!! Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old.
Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared but she all sing songs from cartoons. The doctor recommended singing lessons and so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started...
During 2008 to 2012 Diana sang around 40 songs, including at competitions.
Her mother, Irina Ponik, turned her whole life inside out and started all over with a new motherhood and many new professions - seamstress, manager, vblogger… admirable. Everything that has to do with Diana's singing training, performances, competitions, looking for sponsors is organized and coordinated by her mother Irina Ponik. She took extra sewing courses too. Since then, she's been sewing all of Diana's stage costumes, because all of these things consume the family budget. She accompanies her daughter on trips and captures her life in photos and videos with the persistence of a visionary. It is admirable how she promotes her daughter's career, teaching her how to fly but makes sure that she is down to earth Remains.
Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions. Her confidence grew, her voice continued to develop ... until one day she was asked to compete in more distant competitions so that other children could have a chance to win.
In 2012, Irina's family moved to her hometown of Toglyatti, much closer to Moscow. Diana lost her fear that the woman who gave birth to her would kidnap her.
In 2017 Diana went to Moscow, at the Russian 'The Voice Kids'. Next day, a huge scandal broke out in social medias. A door had closed but a new door opened...
Diana entered another competition in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. That project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to RUclips and soon Diana had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists to start their studies and promote their creativity. Diana won a scholarship and Igor Krutoy (Russian music titan, juror and sponsor) gave her a small apartment (37m²/ 398.26 ft²) in Moscow. There she lives in the small apartment with her mother and grandmother and was able to start her vocal training with the best teachers such as Professor Olga Donskoy. (She died of Covid-19 in October 2020). Now she is taught by the great Alexandra Pismennaya, who was a student of Prof. Donskoy. Maestro Krutoy also introduced Diana to the excellent singer, songwriter and producer Brandon Stone. With Maria Tarasenko (songwriter), the trio created the 9 songs of Diana's first CD, released Dec. 2021 with great success. The album received gold in June 2022.
Dimash Qudaibergen is the universe, but Diana is the earth, our home... And when you hear her voice, you feel like she has wrapped you in a warm velvet blanket and served you a mug of hot, dark chocolate. Every song is a unique experience, it captivates you, you feel bound by magic. Diana doesn't just sing, she creates worlds... and goosebumps.
Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. She also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her range C3-D7). Your voice has natural polyphonic overtones and sometimes specifically an undertone = subharmonic. You hear the voice an octave lower than Diana sings. Not everyone can hear that.
Undertone singing is a singing technique that belongs to the main category of overtone singing in which the vibration mode of the vocal cords is modulated to produce sounds that are below the singing tone.
In contrast to overtone singing, these tones are not overtones (i.e. integral multiples of the fundamental, but integral divisors of the fundamental, so-called subharmonics.)

But she is not only a great singer and storyteller. She lives her songs and touches our hearts and souls. But also she looks beautiful and she is a humble, intelligent and hardworking young woman. She also gives charity concerts. She loves her family and her fans. They are 'Friends' to her and they are very supportive of her. Diana is grateful that they helped improve her home studio and also supported her future plans (first album). Her Russian Friends have chosen Diana as "National Treasure". I think, she is our “Earth Treasure”.
The break of voice made Diana’s voice even darker and deeper. She has mastered this time very professionally and has worked hard to bring back the lost high notes and has expanded her vocal range, currently from C3-E6. Her genres are folk-rock, folk-pop, jazz, soul, blues, soldier songs and Diana-stile… tradition meets modernity.
She loves to sing in French, but also sings in English, German, Arabic and Spanish... but only phonetically so far. She plays the piano and ukulele.
2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors as an external student a year earlier as “normal”, applied to music colleges and was rejected (examiners suspected she had a voice defect). But she is totally normal and healthy ... and now she is a student at the university, at the legendary Russian State Institute for Theater and Variety Arts (Juilliard similar to GITIS). She composes and creates her own songs.
In October 2021 Diana was invited to her first adult contest on Russian television 'The ShowMaskGoOn'. She won!!!

Great reaction! I do recommend “Rechenka”(14)(Russian), “Wicked Game”(15)(English-Chris Isaac cover) or “Crow”(18) on this show, for starters. You can hear the polyphonic and subharmonic abilities on these songs but everything she does is absolutely amazing. A rare young talent that is quite prodigious. She’s a true prodigy, imo. The judge standing on the top row with the beard and tears in his eyes is Yusif Eyvazov who is married to Anna Netrebko, both top opera singers. What does it say about her performance if she could bring him to tears?
