I recently PR'ed at a track meet for the 1600 I was a at 7:30 and last meet of the season I got 6:48 that was the first meet where I had told myself the mental stuff he talks about in the video and just relax and tell yourself positive things. I think that what he talks about is pretty accurate. Although a child I cannot change my diet listen to Zach.

Just doing fast 400s or 800s is one of the best workouts. I sends you into oxygen debt, and after doing it a couple of times, your body will begin to use oxygen more efficiently. Keep doing and your body will become even more efficient. The best thing for training is mix it up. Do fast 400s/800s one day, do long runs the next, do tempo runs, do speed work, etc. That's what I do and it has worked really well.
