I first watched this video 4 years ago when Pearl was hired, hoping that one day Auburn's team and crowd would look like this again. This last game against LSU was so similar it made me look up this video again. We finally made it.
So great to see this video. I was there...in fact at one point, right after Pohlman's 3, you can see me in there jumping around. I was out of breath after the lob dunk.....just crazy in Beard-Eaves all year.
What a freaking year that was. We got the overall #1 seed in the tourney. Made it to the Sweet Sixteen. It was late 90s and we had a player looked just like Michael J. Fox. Scotty Poulhman. And a guy nicknamed Doc Robinson. When he scored they would say, The Doctor is in. Also Momma'DouI jai or however u spelled it, we called him Momma Doo. The whole crowd had Big Black Fro's as wigs we put on for Chris Porter.
You don't happen to have the highlight video that was made of the 1999 season do you? I'm at the beginning of that video and would be awesome to see it again. Many great memories those years!
What happened to Auburn Football in 1998, were problems off-the-field, the injuries, the controversy and turmoil surrounding the resignation of Terry Bowden before the Louisiana Tech game, and the Tigers were 3-8 with a worst record since 1952. Also the hiring of Tommy Tuberville from Ole Miss trying getting Auburn in the right direction for 1999 and to the 21st Centruy.

The 1998-1999 Basketball team of Auburn helped the fans forget about what happened in Football in 1998.
