Hi Cassandra, I am really enjoying your channel. I have tried to access the recipes several times I have a look and cannot find them for the ones advertised in this video as we speak. I have 200 ears of corn to process. I have corn roasting in the oven but not sure what temperature I have it set at 400 and how long I really want to make the stock. If you could please shoot me the recipe it would be greatly appreciated. So glad I found your channel. Thank you for being awesome. 😘

I love your videos, Cassandra! As a farm girl, I am sharing a tidbit about corn. The corn tassel is the pollen producing part at the top of each green corn stalk. The silky strings at the end of each ear of corn are called the silks. When a single silk captures the pollen from the tassel, a corn kernel is created. Also each ear of corn has only an even number of rows of kernels. Corn is not only versatile, but is quite unique!

Hi Cassandra! Towards the end of the summer I saw your chicken and corn soup video. Motivated, I immediately zipped over to one of our local farmer’s market on a mission to find corn. Let’s just say I bought a WHOLE bunch of beautiful, sweet and juicy corn!😮
Canning corn this way is perfect! The corn really shines when done like this.
Here’s the thing though….we never use it as soup! Last night I made the creamy pasta dish for the first time. 😮Oh man, SO GOOD!!! Our kids are grown so it’s just me and my husband. I thought I’d have a ton of leftovers but what I got was my husband moaning on the couch because he couldn’t stop eating it and very few leftovers!😂 Thanks for this and all your content. (I’ve made things like plum sauce, carrot cake preserves and many others- All have been fabulous! ). I look forward to your videos and often go back and rewatch some just to get fired up. (you are quite inspiring in your videos).
    Thanks again!
    Sandy😀💗

Hello sweet friend! Chicken and Corn Soup is so versatile that honestly, I view it more as a meal starter than a soup. The utility you get from having what would ordinarily be three separate jars (a jar of broth, corn, and chicken) all in one means that you can spread your ingredients out and have the convenience of a meal starter in one jar. Using fresh sweet corn takes and chicken broth takes this over the top, but I also use frozen. Happy you enjoyed this!

Your words are too sweet. You know I'm crazy about my canning and I'm so glad to have canning friends, like you, that get my sense of humor. BUT SERIOUSLY-this one is a must because it combines 3 jars (a jar of chicken, broth and corn) into one. When I started canning I skipped over so many recipes because I wondered how I would get use out of them or thought they 'weren't worth the time' to make, which is why I always want to give a few meal ideas because homemade really does give you more options for less money. Keep hanging in there, holding on, and becoming a farm girl! :)

@@BecomingaFarmGirl Oh I'm seriously going to can this. I've got the chicken, homemade broth and corn I grew already off the cob and in the freezer. I guess it's okay to use that corn?
