Great stuff Sean , delighted you’re doing beef boxes , I’ll take one definitely if available . I see Greg Judy is doing that Fieldsgood regenerative agriculture thing in the north on 7th September. Looks interesting
Looking at the calves Sean it’s clear the Galloway are well ahead but that’s due to Ruby being a much better Galloway that the other two lads were shorthorns. I think if you go back to a shorthorn it’s important you get the right one. I still vote for a terminal angus next year or even a terminal whitehead. They’re all looking well and great to have you back
I agree Ian. Jasper didn't turn out like the type of beast I have in my head but maybe I'm wrong too.but ill definitely be going terminal next season. Jasper's calves could be the best yet . We'll see soon 🤞
Great to have you back Sean. I hope you realise how much we all appreciate your videos, so crank them out as often as you can but we understand the other pressures on your time. Could you give us an update in one of your videos on how many will remain in your core herd, and how many will get sold each year or go the abattoir. Will they all be in trios of cow, yearling and calf until they grow out and the yearlings become two year olds and replaced by the new calves? I’m guessing the herd should become quite stable now with perhaps some cows being replaced in the herd by calves you have brought on yourself, is that correct? Take good care of yourself 🇮🇪🇸🇬
The cattle and the grass are looking great for August. Davy's heifer is a tough lady and should be OK. Her daughter is a fine looking cow as well. The proof of your experimental black and white pudding will be in the eating so I'm happy that you are going to process the bullock. If I was in Ireland I'd be after a box of your clean well reared organic beef . The herd is almost sorted. I hope you keep posting, even once in a while would be great.
Great to see you back in action. Sad to see poor Davys heifer lame. All the rest are looking massive. Belties calf is as big as herself. Are you taking Davys heifer home for tlc. Is it too soon to take her calf from her. It would give her a chance to come back to herself. Thanks for the update, hopefully next one will have better news.
Hi Marie thank you. Yes we got her home last night along with black sh. Video loading soon. We'll be able to keep a tight eye on her now🙌 Bullock looks fairly right now too
Welcome back my friend and there you go again ... Absolutely another spectacular beautiful shooting filming footage compilation documentary countryside adventure and you are doing such an amazing job ! ... Million thanks again
Keep the videos up. I enjoy watchi g even if i dont post any longer. One way of keeping it fresh for yourself is to have a few little projects going on. Whether its trying different things with certain fields, putting trees in boggy/rushy areas of fields or just moving them more often. You can lose interest in anything and it can get stale if you don’t innovate (not saying you are not innovating btw) Keep er lit
Good man 👍 I'd say you'd want to stay around and move them every day. Something goes wrong every time you're away by the looks of things if I'm not mistaken, however that works 🙄 always is the case. Hopefully she'll come around soon again getting up is half way anyway
Thanks kieran you are right it's a fascinating thing No matter how much help we have the cows tend to do better with there keeper always and sticking to there routine . Got her home last night. She's in the tlc unit 🤞
Wrap Daveys cow leg with comfrey leaves. Healed many a cow and pony with large gashes. Soak the leave in warm water and bandage on. 2 days happy days
Loving the typo in the title 😂👍🏻
If Davy’s heifer weans early, hopefully she will recover condition quicker 🤞🏻
😉 Well John I think that would be the best option for her. Got her out today and she's in I'll get a good look at her this evening
