your video quality is soo good lol, i didn't even realise that this is made by someone who has 133 subs (134, you earned one more) and the outro really was something, plus i didn't even realise the dock speed was slow until i saw this, thanks for the solution.
Glad you enjoyed it! I’m having so much fun creating these vids, especially now that I see how many things can be sneaked into them. At the end of the day, it’s all about providing solutions, but why not do it in a more entertaining way :D
I have only used a browser and a terminal for like 6 months now.Still can't find anything that needs a full blown gui application.I even edit photos in the browser.
When i clicked on this video I assumed you had at least a few hundred thousand subs because of the amazing production quality!! This is a great video keep it up
Your videos on MacBook guides are incredibly helpful and well explained! I truly appreciate the effort you put into creating such great content. Looking forward to seeing more of your work, keep it up!
Although I am not a native English speaker, I will still try to write a good commentary. I found this video in the recommendation feed and I was interested in it even though I don't have a macbook. The presentation, the editing, the voice, I liked everything and decided to see what this channel is and why I don't know about it and as soon as I looked at the number of subscribers, I was shocked that such a small channel has such good content. Personally I will be following your work and I hope your channel will be popular)
2:34 if You wish to revert it to default: defaults delete com.apple.dock autohide-delay defaults delete com.apple.dock autohide-time-modifier killall Dock
dude, how do i have more subs than you?? you're editing skill is insane, and the audio quality and humor feels professional. keep this up, i see you going places. dont forget me when you're rich and famous :)
I went through the same process - I hate that you can't have the same customisation on windows (or at least i couldn't find it from a quick google search and looking thru settings)
btw i think this works for other animations too, stuff like opening new tabs and switching between desktops feels quicker, could this be due to changing the 0.4 time ?
I believe not; it only affects the ‘com.apple.dock.plist’ which is responsible for the dock. Perhaps you just liked the video and felt a 200% performance boost
@@Lucyian_ i definitely see a change in switching desktops and animations like that, cmd+t for new tab is way faster earlier there was a delay before it switched to showing the new tab. either its just placebo or the dock plist could affect these other animations? whatever it is, as long as it seems speedy to me
I don't know if there's a way to hide it completely, but there are some nice menubar managers like Ice - Menu Bar Manager. At least you can hide plenty of icons with it
ok so this helpful only for autohide on desktop.. dock activation is still so slow after this in full screen apps, it loads after a certain delay. i wish this could resolve that but this just made the animation fast after the delayed acitvation of the dock. any fix for that?
I did a fast research and tbh I had no clue the delay is still present in fullscreen :( I always use my apps just maximized, not in fullscreen, and it seems that this terminal command cannot bypass fullscreen behavior. Let's say this straight, even tho I don't use it, it sucks - it should be consistent all over macOS. All I could quickly find that might help you is this thread: www.reddit.com/r/MacOS/comments/xzxk7i/tip_use_bettertouchtool_to_show_the_dock_without/ but it feels like a rough workaround (and paid...)
there's a slight delay there for a reason: it's annoying when it pops up every time you graze the bottom of the screen. So congratulations, you now live with an annoying feature just to save yourself 1/3 of a second of waiting.
I see your point, and yes, it can happen sometimes, but you’ll get used to how it works fairly quickly. Personally, it was never an issue for me, but I can understand how it might be for others. Just keep in mind that you don’t need to completely eliminate the delay - you can simply reduce it, for example, by setting it to -float 0.1. The solution in the video is clearly not for everyone No need to passive-aggressive 🥳
If you smash the like button, an easter egg pops up at 0:52. Just sayin’…
Yeah really indeed

It’s really nice to see that comparison. I like his channel a lot!
Cool channel!
Can you make a video for that verify problem for apps??
Hi, do you mean the popup about a mac app from an unknown developer? 😀
@@Lucyian_ yes yes

Terminal..... What a familiar name....
Thanks lol. But I did not get it what is the noticeable difference between the int and floating commands. Only the split second minor time difference?
The key difference is floats handle fractional values like 0.40; ints do not. So basically yes
Well thats nice, is there a way to do this the same to the top bar?
I don't know if there's a way to hide it completely, but there are some nice menubar managers like Ice - Menu Bar Manager. At least you can hide plenty of icons with it
thanks dude
Could you make a video about disabling the app names when hovering the cursor on?
WOW, never really though of that! I'll definitely look into this idea
Good video 🎉
Thank you sooo much bro😘😘😘
Very useful
Good video

Do you have a discord server or something? I really wanna e part of your community.
That's actually a good idea. I'll surely think about it at the right moment!
