No autotune, live musicians, TALENT... I often wonder what we lost when we lost Janis... A south Texas girl who changed the world.... missed ya Lizzie!!
Tom Jones had a wildcat on his hands there Janice Joplin was about as wild as you can get, I liked it, you are a good judge of performance, Keep it up, thank you
Lizzie, loved your reaction and comments to this high energy performance by two dynamic performers. It's a pairing you wouldn't expect, but it sure worked! Janis' early musical Influences were Big Mama Thornton, Leadbelly, Bessie Smith, Odetta, and Billy Holiday. As her career progressed she was further Influenced by Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Otis Redding. Here's a few Janis song suggestions. Piece of My Heart, Ball and Chain, Me and Bobby McGee, and Cry Baby. There are many others, but this is a good start. Hope you enjoyed your day as well Liz!
One of my favorite Tom Jones pairings, he can hang with anyone and he and Janis worked off each others energy, she brought Tom For a ride! Truth is you can’t compare Janis to anyone, she is in her own lane as is Tom Jones… and he is still kickin it!
One of the most famous hits of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled gorgeous, phenomenal performance by Diana Ankudinova ( 18 y.o.) Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley / DARK VERSION cover) Please react to Diana Ankudinova ! Meet the singer with the most unique voice (dramatic contralto with polyphonic overtones), reactors call her the goosebump queen. "Together with her tessitura, it identifies her potential voice type as dramatic contralto, the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice." (Wikipedia about Diana) Full vocal range - 4 octaves. The number of reactions to Diana exceeded the number of 12 thousand reactions. In my playlist section there are 3 playlists (5k+5k+2k reactions each).
Hey Lizzie, Great video loved it. Been a long time sub of yours. just love watching your reactions to great songs. I'm just 63 yrs old and I remember watching and hearing all these great singers when they first came out. And your right the 70's were really a GROOVY time to Go Through. I was there , Peace Out.....Till Next Time.....
If I were a background dancer, I would’ve brought my A game too! Janis Joplin used to sneak into venues to see Etta James and she took a lot from her style.
Two amazing voices and performers! I thought your comparison of Etta and Janis was spot on. Now try Tom and the incredible Rhiannon Giddens on St James Infirmary Blues from 2015. Tom still has a great voice!
Hey Liz, what's going on? I see you vibing and grooving, next time get up and shake your "Groove Thang"! (I won't tell anyone) LOL!! Now you tell me Tom Jones has that "Soul Vibe! I was only nine years old when that song came out and believe it or not never saw or heard that performance before! (Great performance and energy) Thanks for sharing! You take care my Dear and stay safe! "Vibe Squad Out"!
Lizzie just make me Dizzie..! 😵 Girl... I just love your reviews and your feedback... For such a young woman of her generation to have a real appreciation for true music from an era that was not her own is truly refreshing to watch.! Love you Lizzie like a Grand Daughter cause I am from that Era and still alive somehow..! Lol 😆
The went off, Lizzie the Gangster Hippie. I like it! You did a good job with this one. So I've never actually seen a Tom Jones or Janis Joplin performance. Not really familiar with these people. Before my time I guess. But I like your reaction. And I like their music. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Great video! I am and I continue to be a proud subb4scriber to your channel. So congrats, you just got some more watch time. And to any and all else out there, I say, "Go ahead and join this woman's YT family now!" and "Go ahead and join this woman's YT family now." because she is awesome. And you have my support
No problem. Your welcome. Proud to be a part of your YT family. I'm with you and I'm locked in. If you don't mind, check out the latest from Real Advantage Proudctions. Yours truly. I would appreciate your honest feedback. Would love your honest thoughts.
I believe one of the dancers in the background is Byron Gilliam, he also danced on Playboy after Dark. Some fun musical performances on Hefners Playboy after Dark shows.
I absolutely LOVE Tom Jones and he continues to make relevant, gospel- and blues-based music even today--take him seriously. I was never a big fan of Janis (and I'm 64, so I remember her very well) but here she sings Tom off the stage--he seems to have trouble keeping up with her; she's a dervish. Perhaps if she continued to explore the Stax catalog, I would have had to reassess; I think she would have done wonders with it. I can hear her taking Carla Thomas' "B-A-B-Y" in a totally different direction. Liked your vid.
Two amazing voices and performers. I thought your Etta/Janis comparison was very apropos. Now try Tom and the uber talented Rhiannon Giddens duetting on St
I don't ever remember liking this style of singing. That doesn't mean I can't recognize great talent when I see/hear it! Like when I see Barry, Andy and Lizzie. Can't you help Andy with his shyness, Lizzie?
Hey Lizzie' Please react to this song "Average White Band - A Love of Your Own (Live)" I think you will be glad you did. Lot's of love from Iowa. So till next time..Stay GROOVY And PEACE OUT.....Mike...
Hey young lady. Hope you and family are doing well. Found another for you. Firefall: Strange Way and Climax Blues: I Love You. Think you might like those. Appreciate you, Tom C
It's sad that Janis died of a heroin over-dose in 1970 at the young age of 27. It was reported the she had a $200 a day addiction that would be close to $2000 a day in today's dollars. A tragic end to a most promising career of someone with great talent.
Janis Joplin was the first rock singer who blew the door opened for other female artists. She was also a blues singer. Janis is an acquired taste. To understand her voice and singing one needs to go back in time to her roots and how she developed into a singer who could convey her emotions and pain through her songs. She's very powerful. Once you let Janis into your heart she will grab it. No doubt about it. I love J.J. however I know she is not everyone's cup of tea.

Love that Muppet...💚👀
I LOVE YOU JANIS!
Just so enjoyable and bittersweet!
It's great thing to see these two superstars duet. Love the dancers in the background.
Just classic and stylish rip Janis Joplin greatest soul white sister on this planet
JJ was the female version of Otis Redding, her biggest influence. They both left far too early.
@@robjones2408 much too early indeed

wonder which came first- the dance party or the music🌞🕊thanks L🦋B🐼A🐻❄️

HELLO LIZ COULD YOU PLAY GALLERY THE SONG IS IT SO NICE TO BE WITH YOU. IT OLD 1970S. THANKS
I have to agree with you. I'm 62, Might be a bit too young. But Janis Joplin's singing never did anything for me

Hi Ms. L., I have never been a Ms. Janis fan; very rough over singing/screaming vocals, I don't get it.. ♠W.G.
