I know this video is 7 years old but I’m almost done with my ottoman and just started sewing last week. I found your instruction to be one of the most beginner friendly tutorials and it’s working out. THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!! 💛💛💛
This is such a great tutorial, thank you! I wish you would have shown a little more detail about sewing it together when you get to the corners that have several pieces intersecting, but other than that it's super clear! Thank you!
I'm in a small apartment and need more places for storage. I have a large ottoman (the structured one with a lid) at the foot of my bed that holds tons and allows a place for a robe or blanket at night. Two smaller ones are footrests and hold art supplies, etc in the LR. They're so costly to buy. Thanks for helping me save money! Outstanding video!!!
Wow! This is exactly what I was searching for-very nice instructions and diagrams. I’m going to make a liner also, then fill it with my sewing scrap fabrics
Please create a video for beginners including basics for using the sewing machine and swapping out parts to make zippers. Thank you!! The pouf came out beautiful!
Thank you for this tutorial. I followed your instructions to make a pouf and it exceeded my expectations. Instead of bean bag filler I used two two pillows and the filler from an old outdoor cushion. It is GREAT!!! Thanks Again
I really appreciated this video. It was easy to follow and I made a cool pouf to put all my fabric scraps into. The only thing is... I wish the corner joining was described in detail. I just winged it, but would have preferred to do it properly. Thank you, Tresha!
Girl you are very creative and imaginative. I really like your channel because you go a lot more deeper into home decor DIYs. Glad I found your channel. I'm definitely going to try to make some of these projects. I use to sew but got annoyed it but has been thinking about it lately and BAM here you are using a sewing machine in your projects. Thanks for sharing
What a beautiful job you did on this project. You explained it so well, showing pattern cuts and stitching lines with your outline. I’m looking forward to using your vid to make one as well. Thank you.
I love this ❤️❤️ you did great, it is so pretty . Yes please I would love to see a video for someone that does not sew or have a sewing 🧵 machine please.
Wow!! this is exactly what I have been looking for. This was a such a great easy to follow tutorial. You did such a beautiful job on your pouf/ottoman. Love it. :)
Hi thanx for sharing this video. I have made the pouf. I have never used a sewingmachine in my life. Thanx for the nice tutorial so i was able to make 1 for myself. Greatings from holland!! 🤗
If you want a firmer ottoman you could fold clean old sheets, old comforter etc and stuff it with those. I love the beanbag effect - I think I would want a firmer surface. Again really great tutorial
+Debra Johns Thanks Debra! I like the idea of stuffing a comforter in there. You will be surprised at how firm it is with the bean bag filling. I guess it just depends on how much you put in there that makes a difference. I'll see how the comforter option works for me.
Thank you so much for the great instructions! Made one for my Dad to elevate his feet while in his recliner (has gout and prone to foot infections) and he needs his feet higher than his ticker while reclining.
I made my floor pouf and it turned out great! The only thing I’d change is the length of the zipper. I found that I don’t think a 20-22” zipper is needed. I’d use a shorter one so that the hole wouldn’t be so large, unless your gonna make a removable liner so that the outside cover can be washed. But as far as the instructions, they were very clear and easy to follow. I’d like to add a picture of mine but I don’t see how. Thanks for sharing your tutorial.
Great instructions I really appreciated the diagram ....I made it today for my daughters room. I'm rusty on the sewing machine so yes please make a few sewing videos !!! lol
Tresha, Thank you for your completely easy to follow tutorial! I made my pouf pillow exactly as you explained and it turned out perfect. I made a slight variation in the dimensions as I needed a rectangular shape. I'll be checking out your blogs for tips on upholstering my wooden dining room chairs. Jamie, from Lodi
Hello I just came across your video & I'm so excited I found you! I've been looking for a good diy video on these poufs & your instructions are easy to follow & I can't wait to get started on mine thank you so much for sharing!!
Could you make two of these so you can remove the outer for washing? I think this would be good for the kids reading corner. Yours turned out really cute I like the fabric.
I would like to make one to hold the filling so when needed the outside can be washed but I don't know how to sew the zip in this case.... I want to be able to take it out and put it back on again when cleaned. Great tutorial, thanks!!
Always pleasure to watch your videos. You have some serious skills. Well my sewing skills aren't the best but will try this one that's for sure. Especially after you explained the zipper part so well. I'm in the middle of refurbishing an old dresser (taking advantage of nice weather) and then I'm gonna try this. Wishing you great day. 👍🤗
+Natasa Bajic Awww thank you, Natasa! Sending you a big hug. I'm glad to hear that. I would love to see your dresser when you finish 😊 Have a fantastic day!
Great tutorial, Thanks, would this be strong enough to sit on? or would I need to add something inside to strengthen the sides for sitting ability? thanks again
This is beautiful!! I wish I knew how to sew! I do a little but not good enough for this project. What model sewing machine is this? I just watched the entryway makeover bench project and it led me here. You are very talented and I love your videos.
I have been looking for a pattern to make a floor pouf. I guess it would have been easier to find if I knew what they were called. Lol. Thank you for uploading the video.
I like this video...I am currently trying to sew two chair cushions but not quite sure how to do them. They should be square and I would like for them to have ties on each corner...just trying to find a video.
+Carmen Edwards Thank you!! The chair cushions are similar to how I constructed the pouf except you will first need to take measurements of the chair seat and cut a piece of foam in that dimension, wrap batting over it with spray adhesive, cut the fabric the size of the foam w/batting and sew the fabric the same way I did for the pouf. The ties can be added last. Finally, sticking the cushion in there. I'll see if I can find a video for you.
One of the best tutorials for making a floor pouf. Great idea of lettering the pieces. So do I have this correct that the zipper is between B & A and the steps are as follows - 1.) B to C then C to D 2.) E to C then C to F 3.) F to B, B to E, E to D, D to F Thank you and can't wait to get started with a lot of denim that I have on hand.
Could you look at your video again. The drawing doesn't match up with your actual video. At the 4:14 spot you see the zipper but it's not the same on the drawing. I had other eyes on this & didn't think it was the same. The diagram is in a T or cross shape but at the 4:14 there is no block on top if that makes sense.
Yes mam love this tresha great for the grand babies but can you give the link on showing us how to show...btw you make an excellent instructor...have a great one!!
+audre cane Thanks Andre! Yes kids love this! Actually, I made this for my little cousin who is 16 months. He uses it every single day to watch Cartoons and eat his snacks LOL! I'm not sure if understood your question correctly, could repeat it for me please?
Okay I see! Yes, I'll do a video on that. Honestly I am not sure I want to do another tutorial on this using a no sew method. I just don't feel like it will hold as well. I see my little cousin jumping on it and all I can think about is... what if I didn't sew it and it fell apart. That wouldn't be good. So, I think I will do a sewing tutorial to use for projects like this. Enjoy your holiday weekend!
I know I am super late to the game but I just love this pillow but unfortunately I have NEVER used a sewing machine! Any way you can send me a video of you sewing this? Thank you so much in advance!
Hello Tresha 🤗 - well, I am making one of these today and I will have to send you a photo! You probably said and I overlooked it, but what are all the finished measurements? I think adjustments can be made to fit the person's needs. I'm wondering if you are making it for the livingroom - would you want to make it as high as your coffee table or seat of the couch - so it can be seating or footstool type thing?
+Debra Johns Hi Debra, That's great! Yes, pls send a photo of it. The measurements I used are: 2 squares - 23" x 23" and 4 rectangles - 23" x 12". It's for the living room. That's a great idea to make the height taller. I may make one like that soon. You're right. The measurements can be adjusted based on need. ☺️🤗
+Tajaneh Jones Thanks! It's 23" in W x 12" in H. You can customize the pouf to any width and height. Say you wanted it to be 30" in high and 25" in wide, you would mark that measurement on your fabric and then add .5" seam allowance all the way around (same as in the video). I hope this helps. Unfortunately, I don't have a pattern for you.
Wow! I wish I knew how to sew! I love your projects, you have such good taste and skills!! I know it's an old video but I need me some floor poufs. I am in Dakar and the bean bag fillers are not very easy to find and they would be expensive, what else can I use to fill the pouf evenly? thanks
Thank you!! You can always hand stitch it together too. A couple alternatives for the bag filler...ball up newspapers, plastic grocery bags, shredded foam, towels/sheets, blankets, old clothes, etc.
Hi, I love what you did. I do not have a sewing machine and don't know how to sew so it would be nice to see a video on how to make this without having to sew anything....thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for the video but can you tell me when I sew the pieces together do I sew all the way threw the corner or do I leave like a half inch of seem.

Thank you so much for sharing that! I'm so happy this video was helpful. 💕
This was made 7 years ago?! wow you were ahead of the curve the quality is amazing. And still super relevant content. Thank you!!!
This is such a great tutorial, thank you! I wish you would have shown a little more detail about sewing it together when you get to the corners that have several pieces intersecting, but other than that it's super clear! Thank you!
I would make one to hold beanbag filling so when needed the outside can be washed.
BEST DIY pouf tutorial! Diagram and directions are clear and concise. I'll fill with blankets, towels and fabric. Thanks!

Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I'm making this to store my fabric scraps so that they don't end up in a landfill.
Thank you for this great tutorial! Your step by step instructions gave me the confidence to try this project.
Thank you for this tutorial. I followed your instructions to make a pouf and it exceeded my expectations. Instead of bean bag filler I used two two pillows and the filler from an old outdoor cushion. It is GREAT!!! Thanks Again
That’s awesome!!! I’m so happy to hear that.

I like this project, I'm going to make some as Christmas gifts. Thanks
+Desriee Beckford You're welcome! That would be a nice Christmas present to get 😊

Wow!! this is exactly what I have been looking for. This was a such a great easy to follow tutorial. You did such a beautiful job on your pouf/ottoman. Love it. :)
I love how you did the zipper. Im going to have to make this. Well two because my daughter gonna want one 😃. Thanx for the idea!
Thanks Evangelina!! Happy Crafting 😀
I just want to say you did an excellent job in instructing how to sew this pouf!
Hi thanx for sharing this video. I have made the pouf. I have never used a sewingmachine in my life. Thanx for the nice tutorial so i was able to make 1 for myself. Greatings from holland!! 🤗
+Tamara Reijmers Wow! That's great Tamara! No prior sewing machine skills either. You are a natural. 👌🏽 Thanks for sharing that. Many blessings... 💕🤗
Really clear step by step directions thank you!
Thank you for showing in detail how you did your zipper. Wonderful tutorial and I have really wanted to make one of these
+Debra Johns You're welcome! Thanks Debra 😊
You did a great job!! My mom taught me when I was about 6 yrs old...it's come in handy throughout the years.
Thank you! It sure does come in handy. 😊
That’s so wonderful and nice of you to do that for your dad! Thanks for sharing 💕🤗

I’d like to add a picture of mine but I don’t see how. Thanks for sharing your tutorial.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I’m so happy to hear this. 🤗
Bean bag is expensive you can use your old cloth or may be can use as a storage for extra sheets and covers..I did and it's great for space saving
I made a floor pouf last night out of Ankara fabric. I posted a picture on your facebook page! thank you for this video!
Hi Amber! That’s awesome!! I’m going to check it out.

+vheswint I'm glad you liked the diagram 😊 Thx so much for the feedback. I'll work on doing some sewing videos. I would love to see the one you made.
I love this! Once I get my sewing machine going I’m going to try it out to store my stuffed animals inside XD
This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you!
You’re welcome!
Tresha,
Thank you for your completely easy to follow tutorial! I made my pouf pillow exactly as you explained and it turned out perfect. I made a slight variation in the dimensions as I needed a rectangular shape. I'll be checking out your blogs for tips on upholstering my wooden dining room chairs.
Jamie, from Lodi
That’s wonderful, Jamie!! I’m so happy to hear that. Thanks for sharing your experience! 💕🤗
How did you sew the corners? Did you sew all the way to the end or stop at the seam allowance? Thanks! 🙂

Trishaja where u get your sewing machine from it looks very easy to angle thanks my dear much blessings to u and family.
I would like to make one to hold the filling so when needed the outside can be washed but I don't know how to sew the zip in this case.... I want to be able to take it out and put it back on again when cleaned. Great tutorial, thanks!!
That’s a great idea! 😊
Great tutorial. Especially the part with zipper. TFS!🤗
+Natasa Bajic Thank you for watching! 😊 Do you know how to sew?
Always pleasure to watch your videos. You have some serious skills. Well my sewing skills aren't the best but will try this one that's for sure. beautiful floor pillow. I love things like that.
Great job, it looks great!
Great tutorial, Thanks, would this be strong enough to sit on? or would I need to add something inside to strengthen the sides for sitting ability? thanks again
Thanks! The floor pouf is similar to a bean bag. Perhaps you could add more beads on the inside to make it a little firmer to sit on.
Would be a good idea to sew a bag inside to put your filling in that way you can take the cover off when you wanna wash it. ☺☺
That's so true! I wish I had thought about that before I made it hehehe.
Lady, you made this very simple. at first, I was intimidated by zippers, but now I think I can do it. Thanks for the awesome tutorial.
Great job for 1st time
This isnan awesome explanation, especially for visual learners. Thank you
You're very welcome!
Great tutorial! Thank you!
You could add some stabilizer to the pieces to firm it up too. Great video, thanks
Thank you!!
That’s adorable
this is pretty cool....i would probably try too make mine extra big just so i could lay on it lol
+Simply Niqua LOL 😂 That sounds like a great idea. I would love to see it.

+Colette Mcwilliams LOL! I'm glad this helped. Thanks for watching 😊
What was the measurement for the original piece of fabric?
+Colette Mcwilliams I purchased 2 yards of fabric.
How wide was it?
+Colette Mcwilliams It's 59"inches wide
Thank you your videos are great
Thanks for sharing! I love the fabric so much, it would match in my bedroom.
You're welcome!! I'm so glad you liked it. It's at IKEA waiting for you. 😀
AND u installed a zipper! Thank u! Great video😁😊
Thanks!!
Do you think this is big enough a measurement to make as a sub coffee table?
Could you pease make the video? I don't saw but I am ready to give it a go. Thanks again, I absolutely love, love your tutorials.👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼😊
+Sylvie Perez I sure will! Thanks Sylvie!
Hey, Tresha can you please create a video just for me because girl I don't know how to sew, lol!!
+Amatullah F Good Morning! LOL Yes ma'am. I can make a tutorial on that just for you. Thanks for the suggestion 😊
Amatullah F yes! Me too lol
I would love to see a video teaching sewing
LOVE love love it!! Where did you buy such a beautiful fabric?
Thank you! I purchased it from IKEA.
Thank you!!
Awesome tutorial!
Thank you!
One of the best tutorials for making a floor pouf. Great idea of lettering the pieces. So do I have this correct that the zipper is between B & A and the steps are as follows -
1.) B to C then C to D
2.) E to C then C to F
3.) F to B, B to E, E to D, D to F
Thank you and can't wait to get started with a lot of denim that I have on hand.
Thanks Beth! Yes, that's right. You got it! I'm glad the instructions were clear. I wanted to make sure that it was. 💕
Oooh, very nice but I’d have to have someone make this for me! 🥺
I'm not sure if understood your question correctly, could repeat it for me please?
treshaja sorry lol it was supposed to say sew....or can you use the no sew strips
Fabulous! I love our results!
+Fareeda Patricia Mater Thank you and it's really cozy to sit on. 😊
This was a GREAT tutorial!!!
Wonderful tutorial, love the fabric. I wonder how long it will be until you find all the little ‘runaway’ pellets. 🤨
Thanks! Lol! It’s no telling.
Bean bag filling is expensive. Use your kids old teddy bears.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
+Pearl Lucas Thanks Pearl!
love this... how big is it?..do you have a pattern or know the measurements for a bigger size???
+Tajaneh Jones Thanks! It's 23" in W x 12" in H. You can customize the pouf to any width and height. Say you wanted it to be 30" in high and 25" in wide, you would mark that measurement on your fabric and then add .5" seam allowance all the way around (same as in the video). I hope this helps. Unfortunately, I don't have a pattern for you.

Thank you!! You can always hand stitch it together too. A couple alternatives for the bag filler...ball up newspapers, plastic grocery bags, shredded foam, towels/sheets, blankets, old clothes, etc.
This so cute and neat!
+Nicole Davis Thanks Nicole! 😊
Really?, can you be any more talented? That is so nice. I'm a new subbie, sitting here going through your playlists..lol. Love them all!
Thanks girl!! I appreciate you. Many blessings!
Love your Channel
+Angela Walker Aww... Thanks Angela 😊
Hi, I love what you did. I do not have a sewing machine and don't know how to sew so it would be nice to see a video on how to make this without having to sew anything....thanks for sharing!
+Kaliposwife Thank you so much! I appreciate the feedback and will be doing another video that doesn't require sewing 😊
What’s a good way to learn how to sew I just bought a machine
Lovely!!
Thank you so much for the video but can you tell me when I sew the pieces together do I sew all the way threw the corner or do I leave like a half inch of seem.
You’re welcome! I believe I did it all the way to the corner.
Can we fill with clothes instead beans foll
