He didn't even wanted a piece of the loot or the money we made off the Artefact, we gave him more vodka instead. Then I noticed the jacket he was wearing. Poor guy was Clear Sky... i guess he hold that grudge pretty hard. I managed to get something out of him, he told me he wished he got brainwashed as well, he would still be with his friends he said. I told him he'll wont need to pay for his drinks anymore, that the least I could have done. He gave me a faint and drunken smile. He died 3 weeks ago, Bloodsucker got him. I got his jacket back, I didn't wanted a bandit getting his hands on it. His name was Henry. He had a picture of his Clear Sky buddies on him. He was a good Stalker"
I actually had a scenario like this in GAMMA recently. I was a veteran stalker tasked with leading Mercs (They became neutral to loners after killing a bunch of Monolith and Military) we got to Foresters tower when we got attacked from behind. Myself and the quest giver where the only ones to survive the ambush and make it to the Ecologist bunker to tell the tale.
[Pripyat, 2014-12-23, 09:00] A group of neutral military employed the help of loner "Tapir" with the purpose of retrieving the item codenamed "project 62" [09:52] The group successfully reached strike zone A, and successfully defeated a small monolith squad [10:07] The group is ambushed by heavy monolith forces, accounts from radio communication indicate said groups "appeared from thin air". Last words of Pvt Ivankov : "Blyat... they are on the rooftops ! shit man they are everywhere ! Fu *radio static*". Word says Ivankov died covering his squadmates and was hit by pkm machine gun fire. [11:15] Pvt Dragunov, Major Knuzetjk and Sgt Dimitri killed in combat from grenade blast. [11:37] the squad is pushed towards the rooftops, everyone is low on ammunition. "Tapir" is counting down his last shells and major Belkino switched from his rifle to his handgun. Sgt Simonov stood too close to a window and was picked out by monolith cultist leader using "project 62" [12:22] Major Belkino and "Tapir" rushed the location of the monolith sniper, being critically wounded in the process but succesfully taking out the sniper. He clutched "project 62" tightly while "tapir" picked him up and rushed towards base. [13:04] "Tapir" and Major Belkino reached base camp. Monolith cultists that followed are killed by base sentries. [13:54] Major Belkino pronounced clinically dead. His last words were : "The zone has taken my body, but please don't take away my existence in memories". Tapir is critically injured with multiple gunshot wounds in torso, leg and neck areas. "Project 62" is damaged during the transportation process, and is currently sent to Ex-clear sky member Cardan in Skadovsk for reparation. [23:59] After ten hours of surgery, "Tapir's" vitals stabilized, making him the only survivor of said operation. [Pripyat, 2014-12-25, 12:08] "Tapir" and the rest of the inhabitants of the military base are evacuated via helicopter [Kiev, 2014-12-29 10:50] Pvt Ivankov, Pvt Dragunov, Major Knuzetjk and Sgt Dimitri and Sgt Simonov is awarded posthumously with Order of Merit. Major Belkino is awarded posthumously with Hero of Ukraine. I know it probably is just for player convenience, but I think they leave him alone since he was here first and Forester has respect for the psychic balance of the Zone
i remember one time in call of chernobyl i was leading me and a couple of my loner buddies as a loner myself, i had managed somehow to equip them both with exoskeletons and some machine guns, and they were master ranks, so we naturally had barely any issue with almost any threat. we were going through the red forest and just cruising along, when a monolith squad just started lighting us up. immediately, one of my buddies fell, but i was able to locate the muzzle flashes and take out the majority of the squad before the other guy fell. thats exactly when another monolith had snuck up behind me and whacked me with his rifle; i was able to pull out my pistol and light the fanatic up in time to give myself enough space to heal up, but unfortunately that was my last medkit, and my remaining buddy was wounded, i was finally able to locate a medkit on one of the cult fanatics bodies; then, right as i got to my buddy with it, he died. i had no time to stick around since this was the middle of the red forest, but i was in tears walking to forester's end since wed been together through so much. screw you monolith!!!
In my current playthrough is the middle of winter and there has been a constant attempt to push through the red forest to continue north. These Monolith and Sin assholes don't stop coming. It could be in the middle of the night in the middle of a goddamn blizzard and we still have to worry about having enough bodies to stop a night raid. Last time it took the combined efforts of Duty, Mercs, and the Military to take the bridge to Limansk, and even then when we got to the forest we were ambushed by Monolith from the east and southeast while Sin moved in on us from the north and northwest. They chewed everyone up before we could even get within view of Foresters place. Needless to say everyone made an attempt to fall back but most were killed in the process, and the bridge was lost again.
You just gave me insane flashbacks to my time in the zone. Had to leave my country and unfortunately I couldn’t bring my save and my pc with me. The zone is only a memory now and I still dream about it sometimes. Thank you so much for this.
You can get a stalker out of the Zone, but you can never get the Zone out of a stalker:) Don't worry brother, the Zone is patiently waiting for you to come back
I've tried nearly every start, ANOMOALY and GAMMA. And I still always go with Clear Skies. Being one of the last Clear Sky Stalkers just makes fighting Monolith all the more cathartic.

I was playing anomaly earlier today and I was checking the ammo in my backpack, and as soon as I closed it and walked forward, I accidentally walked into a group of 4 Monolith, which, unfortunately for them, were quickly annihilated. I felt like I was watching go-pro footage where they accidentally stumble on a group of soldiers where both parties were equally surprised. FUCK THE RED FOREST!
Be me, goes to Zaton from Swamps to deliver the usb stick to Nimble. Goes to forester at night, it's all pretty quiet. Returns back and goes through the red forest during the daytime, literally this video happens.
Been playing Stalker 2 nowadays. For better experience I always listen to USSR era music (some of them is amazing). Got bushwacked by Monolith in Pripyat while Gruppa Krovi was playing on background. Saiga D-12 with slugs saved my ass.
Did RUclips _stalked_ me? I don't know why the algorithm suddenly recommended this video after i lost my 2 squadmates and 1 ecologist (our client) when we walked accross Red Forest today.

Those quacks just eat this stuff up...hopefully not literally, because I remember old Chekov try to cook bloodsucker meat and the man could not hold down anything that wasn't bread for two weeks. Despite what people say I rather choke down stale bread with expired canned meat than even think of eating anything in this hell hole. We were making our rounds, being a group of Loners has its perks. We don't get shot at by either Freedom or Duty unless one of us has a wild hair up our ass but if we see anything resembling Military or Mercenary we avoid like the plague. I rather deal with angry zone mutants than a man with aimed right at my head from the distance. Although I rather avoid any conflict with any of them because life is hard enough as it is with all the damn bandits wandering about shaking us down for money and artefacts. But nothing could have prepared us for when we reached the Red Forest. We have been hearing reports about a Chimera being spotted between the Army Warehouses and the Red Forest. Apparently its been attacking people as they were going through Radar and it has already killed at least six stalkers. Sidrovich put a hell of a hefty bounty on its head but the Ecologists asked us if we could bring them the body instead. And personally I hate that cheapskate bastard after he nearly got Nimble killed over a goddamned USB drive and I am certain he sold me expired bread and doctor's sausages. We found the Chimera's tracks leading into the forest but the tracks looked roughly a few days old so I couldn't be sure if its still in the area or it moved on already. These things are extremely intelligent according to some of the veteran Stalkers who survived an encounter with it so I told my squad to be on high alert. But the second we stepped into the forest it was dead quiet, hell not even the birds was making a sound. Almost like the world swallowed us up and we were the last men on earth...until something smashed into Chekov's chest with enough force to launch him clear past us and leave a sizable hole in the tree he was standing in front of. Poor bastard did not even knew what hit him...However what we saw turned our measly mutant hunt into a desperate fight for survival. Monolith. I never thought I would live to see one as anyone that wasn't a Mercenary would not be able to live and tell about it. The Ecologists were very tight lipped about them because they said that it was classified information or some shit like that I never really pried into their affairs...I really wish I did. There had to have been a small platoon of at least 12-18 Soldiers firing right straight at us. We tried so damn hard to keep our heads down and try to pick them off but they seem to know this area far more than we did, just as I thought it was the end my PDA chirped and Beard's sent out his warning about an incoming Emission. I tried to tell my men to get the to shelter but the warning was pointless as the entire zone lit up as the tall tell sign the Emission was coming and the sirens nearby alerted me to a possible shelter from the storm. Only me and three others of our eight man squad made it to a safe place while the first wave of the Emission tore our comrades skin clean off the bone...this Emission is far more powerful than I ever could imagine. If I can get out of this alive....I will send the report about the Chimera to other hunters and hopefully we can get this damn thing taken care of so we can hopefully get either Freedom or Duty to help us get rid of these Monolith bastards."
Remember this happened to me and some guys in stalkerz, coolest thing ever honestly, we were delivering a package north to the red first and there must have been 8 of us, after the engagement only 5 of us got out, it almost felt scripted haha
I had this same scenario, maybe 2 months before. We were pushing out of Red Forest after doing a job by the barkeep. I was a Loner and three Dutiers were with me, two of them have being already with me on a previous mission. We were leaving out of the forest when the first shots started to fly all over the place, I and my comrades took cover but it was useless, granades were flying over us, I could hear them yelling closer and closer. I gave them one of my two more expensive granades and took almost all of the guys who were running towards us in the Limansk's bridge. I had the opportunity to get away of there, but not my friends. The enemy fire was so heavy that I couldn't get their personal belongings, not patchs. I stil want to raid Limansk. I am going to join Duty and doing what is necessary. My friends' sacrifice will be worth it.

Mi última misión fue en el Red Forest. Fui por Limansk para acortar camino pero estuve fácilmente media hora aguantando Monoliths a metros del camino de Limansk-El puente de Limansk. Esquivaba balas como un campeón. Luego del tiroteo salí de mi cobertura y avancé un poco más. En medio del puente había un solo Bandit, caminando tranquilamente con una mano en el bolsillo y la otra sosteniendo su rifle apoyado contra su hombro. Lo maté porque pensé que era de Sin. Me tomé dos bebidas energéticas y corrí con todo lo que pude hacia el corazón del bosque. Tuve que usar mis visión nocturna (crafteadas en la base justo antes de salir) porque se estaba haciendo de noche. A unos 100 metros empecé a disparar, maté a 5 de ellos pero el objetivo seguía vivo. Hasta ahí dejé la partida
To my knoledge, there never were monolith forces in the Red Forest in CS, there were Renegades. In SoCs Red Forest or otherwise known as Radar by the older builds and the fans of course it fits, but i can see in this video the background is CSs Red Forest, this is a little confusing.
Ah yes... last month I was fighting the monolith at the barrier in gamma when out of nowhere a fucking emission occurred. Everyone just started running and dying while Monolith keep pushing us. I tried to fight them alone inside the little bus but it was impossible. I had to restart the whole level and wait for the emission for hours before trying again (in game of course). I haven't been trolled like that in a while.

These things are extremely intelligent according to some of the veteran Stalkers who survived an encounter with it so I told my squad to be on high alert. But the second we stepped into the forest it was dead quiet, hell not even the birds was making a sound. Almost like the world swallowed us up and we were the last men on earth...until something smashed into Chekov's chest with enough force to launch him clear past us and leave a sizable hole in the tree he was standing in front of. Poor bastard did not even knew what hit him...However what we saw turned our measly mutant hunt into a desperate fight for survival.
Monolith. I never thought I would live to see one as anyone that wasn't a Mercenary would not be able to live and tell about it. The Ecologists were very tight lipped about them because they said that it was classified information or some shit like that I never really pried into their affairs...I really wish I did. There had to have been a small platoon of at least 12-18 Soldiers firing right straight at us. We tried so damn hard to keep our heads down and try to pick them off but they seem to know this area far more than we did, just as I thought it was the end my PDA chirped and Beard's sent out his warning about an incoming Emission. I tried to tell my men to get the to shelter but the warning was pointless as the entire zone lit up as the tall tell sign the Emission was coming and the sirens nearby alerted me to a possible shelter from the storm. Only me and three others of our eight man squad made it to a safe place while the first wave of the Emission tore our comrades skin clean off the bone...this Emission is far more powerful than I ever could imagine. If I can get out of this alive....I will send the report about the Chimera to other hunters and hopefully we can get this damn thing taken care of so we can hopefully get either Freedom or Duty to help us get rid of these Monolith bastards."
Remember this happened to me and some guys in stalkerz, coolest thing ever honestly, we were delivering a package north to the red first and there must have been 8 of us, after the engagement only 5 of us got out, it almost felt scripted haha

I had this same scenario, maybe 2 months before.
We were pushing out of Red Forest after doing a job by the barkeep. I was a Loner and three Dutiers were with me, two of them have being already with me on a previous mission. We were leaving out of the forest when the first shots started to fly all over the place, I and my comrades took cover but it was useless, granades were flying over us, I could hear them yelling closer and closer. I gave them one of my two more expensive granades and took almost all of the guys who were running towards us in the Limansk's bridge. I had the opportunity to get away of there, but not my friends. The enemy fire was so heavy that I couldn't get their personal belongings, not patchs.
I stil want to raid Limansk. I am going to join Duty and doing what is necessary. My friends' sacrifice will be worth it.

Mi última misión fue en el Red Forest. Fui por Limansk para acortar camino pero estuve fácilmente media hora aguantando Monoliths a metros del camino de Limansk-El puente de Limansk. Esquivaba balas como un campeón. Luego del tiroteo salí de mi cobertura y avancé un poco más. En medio del puente había un solo Bandit, caminando tranquilamente con una mano en el bolsillo y la otra sosteniendo su rifle apoyado contra su hombro. Lo maté porque pensé que era de Sin. Me tomé dos bebidas energéticas y corrí con todo lo que pude hacia el corazón del bosque. Tuve que usar mis visión nocturna (crafteadas en la base justo antes de salir) porque se estaba haciendo de noche. A unos 100 metros empecé a disparar, maté a 5 de ellos pero el objetivo seguía vivo. Hasta ahí dejé la partida

To my knoledge, there never were monolith forces in the Red Forest in CS, there were Renegades. In SoCs Red Forest or otherwise known as Radar by the older builds and the fans of course it fits, but i can see in this video the background is CSs Red Forest, this is a little confusing.

Ah yes... last month I was fighting the monolith at the barrier in gamma when out of nowhere a fucking emission occurred. Everyone just started running and dying while Monolith keep pushing us. I tried to fight them alone inside the little bus but it was impossible. I had to restart the whole level and wait for the emission for hours before trying again (in game of course).
I haven't been trolled like that in a while.
