Anybody who tries to explain in technical terms what is going on is full of it. It has something to do with the bond between Ringo and John. The reason that the Beatles sing so much of love is because it was what propelled their music. And incidentally, this would be why both John and Paul tried to insinuate their wives into their music. They were trying to recreate the magic they knew with their bandmates.

Now she needs to listen to the most talked about opening "chord" ever played: It starts the song: A Hard Day's Night. It took 4 different instruments to create the "chord sound" that has puzzled a lot of people for a long time though now we know what they actually did as it has been explained. There are several videos showing what the Beatles did to get that sound.

Beatles rated as likely the most important band in 20th Century and changed music. Noted for having 5 simultaneous (NOT one-after-the-other, but all at once) Number 1 songs in US c. 1965. Every time I hear Bohemian Rhapsody I can clearly hear the direct influence from this song, there is no doubt whatsoever they modeled it from A Day In The Life, the changes and exotic sound tricks, only with the more sophisticated equipment and musical experience that were available in the few years that passed since the Sgt Pepper Album had been released.
I love the subtlety of Ringo's drums. He never overdoes it and plays exactly what needs to be played to make it right. Moon or Bonham couldn't play for the Beatles.

The Beatles were transforming rock'n'roll into art. As you could hear, they wanted to take their music into a new form where the songs would explode into different shapes and colours and lyrics could be poetry. John Lennon was writing surreal scenes about headlines he read in the news; Paul McCartney added the fragment in the middle about "Woke up...fell out of bed..." from a song he hadn't finished yet; the band came up with the idea of hiring a symphony orchestra to play psychedelic freak-out instrumental breaks where the musicians would start on a particular note and make climactic jumps to the next octave and then end the song--and entire record--with one final, never-ending chord.! I request your reaction to "Hey Jude!"
That final chord sounds like it is endless but does eventually end. However, if you have the right pressing, the LP literally does not end. Courtesy of a friend who had been in England when Sgt Pepper came out, I was able to hear the original UK pressing. on a completely manual turntable (the early AR). Normally the tone arm would lift when it reached the runout groove. If it did not, as with a manual TT, you would hear first the 15K Hz dog whistle (assuming you could hear that high) followed by the endless party sounds as the cartridge rode round and round forever. This was not heard again until the CD was issued and that contained only a limited number of repetitions of the party. No runout groove on a CD. 😉

I grew up listening to The Beatles. They had so much fun experimenting! This was the first time that an orchestra was recorded with a rock band. The rising/climbing sound was reportedly received with excitement by the orchestra. Using classical instruments to create a new sound was unheard of back then. I believe that the combination of talent along with the time in history has made The Beatles a unique band that stands up to the test of time. If this were released today, it would still sound fresh! I remember teaching my kids to go wild as we drove down the road, stereo full blast, knowing every word, note and extraordinary timing to synch in 1979. They couldn't believe music was so much FUN! It came out when I was 18, we didn't care if most people didn't "Get" it.

I have not listened to it for ages and ages but I am so happy that I am hearing it again, through the eyes, ears and minds of people today.

Siouxsie and the Banshees did a great cover of "Dear Prudence" in 1983. Covers usually don't work for me, but this one is exceptional. The Beatles were amazing. I enjoyed "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" another psychedelic trip, it reminds me of "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" by Status Quo from 1968.

John and Paul had two separate songs that were incomplete. George Martin had a brilliant idea to put them together as they had similar topic and music themes. Ringos drumming is especially good. He doesn’t drive the beat but punctuates the measures which allows them to stand out.

Remember 1967 had a pre-computerized world. Cut up and rearranged recording tapes were used, Lesilie speakers were used for different sounds. large oscillators were used for distorted vocals and instruments For maximum flexibility. Every thing was all done on 4 track machines, which was the technology back then.

Well Nasa, that's 4 down and only 200+ more Beatles song to go! 😲 Really, they have over 200 songs recorded as the Beatles, and no telling how many total on their own. I noticed the 4 you've done now were from 4 different albums. Perhaps you should try The White Album and do at least two since it was a double-album released in '68. The songs I recommend are "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". And if you want another lively one from the same album, "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me and My Monkey". Another one you'd like is "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds" back on Sgt. Peppers. Of course any Beatles song other commenters are suggesting are good too. ✌️😎
This is my favourite song ever written, still holds up. Ringo's drumming, Paul's baseline, John's singing and lyrics. The way it builds up to the bridge and again at the end. Magnificent. Of course not to forget George Martin's expert hand in this and the team of engineers putting together all the effects and creating new recording techniques and methods. Stunning
I really wasn't a big Beatles fan until 1967 when they dropped their "yeah yeah yeah baby" phase and started singing about other things than girl boy relationships. Sgt. Pepper still sounds just as awesome today as it did back then.
A huge achievement considering it was recorded in Mono. It's really two different songs linked together with a small group of classical musicians (EMI wouldn't stretch to a 90-piece orchestra, causing drummer Ringo Starr to suggest they get two 45-piece ones instead!). With John unable to complete his song, he left a number of bars in which Paul McCartney could step in with his own (equally) unfinished tune. In fact, with John having recorded his part in advance, Paul had to cut short the word 'dream' or he might have erased the rest of John's vocals! You really had to pay attention in those days.
I have a suggestion to reactors- there are so many great hit songs from the past, and so many great bands to explore. So take your time and explore them one by one. Don't let it frustrate you that you can't hear them all at once. You're young and have your whole life ahead of you. For us boomers, we've had decades already to absorb it all. Or much of it, anyway. It could take a whole lifetime.

Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,* followed by *With A Little Help From My Friends.* These two songs run together and are really good to listen to together. Both were written by Paul McCartney, but the second song was written to be sung by the Drummer, Ringo Starr, and it's perhaps the best one sung by Ringo. Another Ringo-performed song that was written for him by McCartney is *Yellow Submarine,* which is a lot of fun to listen to. This song also inspired an animated film called "Yellow Submarine."

But I would also like to suggest a beautiful atmospheric song by YES. It's called "Final Eyes" from the album "Big Generator"
My two favorites if theirs are penny land and things we said today. Listen to the beautiful key modulations that they do in each song. That has become a lost art in pop music but for the Beatles it was second nature.

John Lennon wrote and sang the first and last segments, while Paul McCartney bridged the Lennon bookends with the "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head" portion. The percussion on the slower parts is a favorite. Also, I think there's a playful dig at fans or the music business in general in the line "now they know how many [a] holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall." Get them butts in the seats!

It is actually 8 pianos recorded on a loop to prevent the note from decaying and to give it more power. A beautiful piece of wizardry from the boys.

Well Nasa, that's 4 down and only 200+ more Beatles song to go! 😲 Really, they have over 200 songs recorded as the Beatles, and no telling how many total on their own. I noticed the 4 you've done now were from 4 different albums. Perhaps you should try The White Album and do at least two since it was a double-album released in '68. The songs I recommend are "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" and "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". And if you want another lively one from the same album, "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me and My Monkey". Another one you'd like is "Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds" back on Sgt. Peppers. Of course any Beatles song other commenters are suggesting are good too. ✌️😎

This is my favourite song ever written, still holds up. Ringo's drumming, Paul's baseline, John's singing and lyrics. The way it builds up to the bridge and again at the end. Magnificent. Of course not to forget George Martin's expert hand in this and the team of engineers putting together all the effects and creating new recording techniques and methods. Stunning

I really wasn't a big Beatles fan until 1967 when they dropped their "yeah yeah yeah baby" phase and started singing about other things than girl boy relationships.
Sgt. Pepper still sounds just as awesome today as it did back then.
A huge achievement considering it was recorded in Mono. It's really two different songs linked together with a small group of classical musicians (EMI wouldn't stretch to a 90-piece orchestra, causing drummer Ringo Starr to suggest they get two 45-piece ones instead!). With John unable to complete his song, he left a number of bars in which Paul McCartney could step in with his own (equally) unfinished tune. In fact, with John having recorded his part in advance, Paul had to cut short the word 'dream' or he might have erased the rest of John's vocals! You really had to pay attention in those days.

I have a suggestion to reactors- there are so many great hit songs from the past, and so many great bands to explore. So take your time and explore them one by one. Don't let it frustrate you that you can't hear them all at once. You're young and have your whole life ahead of you. For us boomers, we've had decades already to absorb it all. Or much of it, anyway. It could take a whole lifetime.

The beginning of the album that this song is found on begins with *Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band,* followed by *With A Little Help From My Friends.* These two songs run together and are really good to listen to together. Both were written by Paul McCartney, but the second song was written to be sung by the Drummer, Ringo Starr, and it's perhaps the best one sung by Ringo.
Another Ringo-performed song that was written for him by McCartney is *Yellow Submarine,* which is a lot of fun to listen to. This song also inspired an animated film called "Yellow Submarine."
It might not be easy to find these two songs in a RUclips video together, so when looking try putting "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band + With A Little Help From My Friends" in the browser.

But I would also like to suggest a beautiful atmospheric song by YES. It's called "Final Eyes" from the album "Big Generator"
My two favorites if theirs are penny land and things we said today. Listen to the beautiful key modulations that they do in each song. That has become a lost art in pop music but for the Beatles it was second nature.

These are actually two song fragments that were combined to make a single recording track. John Lennon wrote and sang the first and last segments, while Paul McCartney bridged the Lennon bookends with the "Woke up, fell out of bed, dragged a comb across my head" portion. George Martin and McCartney arranged and conducted the orchestral moments.
The reverberation at the very end goes on for more than a minute, for any who'd want to listen that long.
