As an artist, I am also not the biggest fan of the look of both Chapter 4 and 5. Chapter 2 felt like a nice evolution of Fortnite's original artstyle, it felt a bit cleaner, but it still keep the silly proportions like the windows, doors, furniture the wavy and curved trees a bit of grime here and there. The whiplash and pick-up truck still feel very fortnite-y in design. Going into Chapter 3 it still mostly the same, albeit you can tell theres a shift in direction with new props like furniture. And chapter 4 and Chapter 5 feel like less stylized then ever, feels too clean, made to look pretty but it doesnt feel cohesive with old skins or a lot of old guns. Not to mention the new UI which removes a lot of the angular and sharp edges to Fortnite's UI and rounds it off.
Very much agree a shame that epic games are going this way in design I will miss the old design alot. That being said the new design isn't bad it's just lost alot of that fortnite charm.
