Lung Yeuk Tau Bun Festival-The History and Tradition of Hong Kong's Rural Areas
We are now at the beginning of the once-in-a-decade Lung Yeuk Tau Bun Festival, providing a rare opportunity for us to delve into the history and tradition of Hong Kong's rural areas. The Bun Festival is renowned for its multitude of spectacular ceremonies, including the welcoming of deities, altar construction, the Three Prayers and Three Repentances, the opening of the list, releasing of captive animals, the offering to spirits, and the return of deities to their places, among other dazzling events. During the Lung Yeuk Tau Bun Festival, we also have the chance to witness traditional Three Prayers and Three Repentances, as well as Taoist rituals conducted by fifteen Yuan Shou to bless the villagers.
