On the subject of points; 2nd Ed was a clean up of 1st, the rules are broadly the same. Ravening Hordes contains all the points values and army lists for 2nd, would suggest you use those if that's a concern.
I've never really looked at Copplestone figures so this was a real education, thank you. Theyre very nice, I recall seeing some painted in the Dragon Rampant rules. I found this on youtube completely by chance and glad I am to look in. That bear is definitely a Grizz, Polar bears have a more pointed, sleeker shape from a pointy nose (better for swimming I'm guessing) but this a fantasy game you're looking at so totally your choice.
