Thanks for putting up the Video! it's very informative. This seems exactly setup as my 2003 Mazda 6 GG Hatchback, I am going to replace all 4 pieces of components as mentioned in this Video.
Great video. Helped me every step of the way. I wish my camber bolts came off as easy as yours. Both of mine are seized in the bushing and no amount of penetrant or heat is making them budge. Next step is the sawzall.
caseyedl2 I actually never used the sawzall. Just an angle grinder without the guard. It’s such a tight fit though that I ended up cutting the bolt in two spots just to get enough play in it to move it around a bit. I started by cutting the side of the bolt closest to the nut first. That gave me some room to wiggle it around a bit. Then cut through the other side. I had to get a breaker bar and turn the bolt head to cut completely through the bolt because it’s so tight in there. That bolt is a $35 part from Ford. Good luck!!
@@CreamyMayo okay thanks ill try that or try and figure out something. I have a mazda 6 and its the same kind of lower control arm and set up & My exhaust is in the way tight squeeze.
thanks for the video it was a help .. Ive been under the car for 2 hours trying to get the cam bolt out .. plenty of BP blaster . I guess a torch is next
I’m trying to diagnose a thumping noise from my fusion. Will this help? I’ve replaced sway bar bushings, shocks, sway bar end links, and exhaust hangers.
What was the reason for replacing the lowers in the first place? We’re they making a creaking/thumping noise when going over bumps? My gfs Altima is making those types of noises and as I diagnosed where the sound came from, I felt vibrations on the lower control arm when raising the control arm with a floor jack.
After this job i noticed the rear springs rub against the black bump stop that goes on the side of the spring, not the one inside. And its making rubbing noise, any idea why they are touching?
Scott, I am about to do my control arms. My concern is not being able to muscle the spring back into the cup of the control arm. Is there enough flex to pull the bottom of the spring over into the cup to seat properly? Did you have to remove the lower shock bolt to do this job? The video shows it undone. Thanks
Scott...How are these 1A Auto parts working out for you? I had to replace a bad trailing arm on my Focus and thought of getting the 6 piece kit they have and just swap out everything else. At $145 bucks for all 6 rear control arms looks like a great deal. Phil
Hello i know that you posted this almost a year ago. Where did you get the rear lower control arms from. I would like to know if you can provide me with the brand and item numbers for each side. I do not wish to purchase dorman as they have a very bad rep for their parts. Thanks in advance.
Scott's Garage I thought about doing that , then but I was afraid I was going to ruin the bolt . Now I think I’m just going to put new ones. Thanks for your videos and reply :)

Good tip with the jack to control the spring. Learned the hard way how not to do it!! Sick of working on the wife's MKZ!!
You do a great jobs on your videos, nice, concise explanation. No story telling at all. Keep up these great videos.
The bolt through my outer bushing on the control arm, would not come out, had to grind the head off!
Thanks for you video, thorough and informative.

You’re from phoenix. That’s why there’s zero rust! I’ll take the heat over the rust
That bolt adjusts camber or toe?

Hi John, my recollection is that you do not have to remove lower shock bolt.

What are these rear control arms called

Beavis Kornholio I purchased them through O’Reilly’a Auto Parts if I remember correctly. The brand is Precision. Hope this is helpful.
Hi how pull out Camber bolt
How did you remove the upper bolt of the lower arm. I pulled the nut out but the bolt is stuck
Mine came right out. You may want to try spraying some bolt loosen-er. I use a product called "Blaster" and it works well.
Scott's Garage did you kick from the back or it unbolts with the 17 mm wrench
Here is my suggestion. Once you have backed the bolt off the nut take a long punch and use a hammer to push it back and out.
Scott's Garage I thought about doing that , then but I was afraid I was going to ruin the bolt . Now I think I’m just going to put new ones. Thanks for your videos and reply :)
You're brave wrenching with that ring on
business here wanted $60 for each arm and 350 for labour for 2 rear front control arm replacement
