I remember commenting a long time ago on one of your videos, asking if you would ever consider doing a few paintings in oils. I thought it might be fun/interesting to see the difference between how you would approach a landscape in oils, as opposed to Bob’s well known process. While I’d still like to see that, watching today’s video was also pretty entertaining! Thanks for this “fun painting experience.” I enjoy all your videos, but it was cool to see you change things up a little bit, to provide us with a different experience than your usual. You belong in the Guinness book of world records... hands down to you... I do oil paintings with the wet on wet technique and it takes me 3 1/2 to 5 hours to finish a painting...

After learning with acrylics, I bought a huge Bob Ross kit to learn his technique, and it is SOOOO much harder to paint… lots of “happy accidents”, as he would say😂But I had to give it a go, because his painting show has inspired me to learn how to paint since I was a child!
I didn't know for a long time Bob Ross studied under William Alexander. I bought both of their Art books in the 80's. When I first started trying to paint it frustrated me so bad because I wanted my paintings to look just like theirs and I didn't enjoy painting at all, lol! I love your style of painting so much more, I actually had fun painting along with you. I did two paintings of your snowmen for my grandchildren. It took years of practice and patience to learn the oil wet on wet. I think sometimes we are too hard on ourselves and forget to lighten up and have fun. Thank you for teaching us to have fun painting and Happy Thanksgiving!

Loooooved this painting, hope you do some more Bob Ross styles. I tried to replicate it with acryllics & i strugggled with creating misty fog on mtns, water reflections, layered tree lines & blending the sky & clouds. He uses liquid white to do this. What could i use for acryllics to replicate the blending techniques ? Happy Thanksgiving !
