Nutrition really makes such a big difference in your on field performance, I wish I took it more seriously when I was younger. Any young players are lucky to have a resource like Matt giving them this knowledge for free 💯
Great Content Matt! I really see the importance in this. I will be doing a cleanse for a week to reset my body! And I will be talking about it on my channel tonight! Love the content keep it up, lovely to watch!
Great topic in this video! I'm about to start my CNC course from NASM like Matt did and I'm extremely stoked for it! This video helps a lot to motivate me for it
Watching the full video is actually worth it. I realized how every part of the video has its importance. This is some really good advice for athletes and you’re doing a great job matt.
Thank you for taking the time to do all this research and providing this free information, taking the time out as an athlete to properly learn this and actively listen is what’s going to help us a little more
Thank you soooo much for this video. Great stuff man! Keep going like this cause you are the greatest youtuber. You inspire so many people. Thank you very much. You have gotten me to believe in making my own future. You have made me come back from a huge depression and injury. Man, I have so much respect for you right now. Thanks
Hi Matt, You have helped me a lot over the last few years and I agree with most things you say however processed red meat and eggs are high in cholesterol and carcinogens which have been proven to cause things like cancer and heart disease. Nonetheless Thank you for your videos. Edit: i watched everything you had to say after just seeing your comment and it seemed pretty fair what u had to say about but I think it’s best to avoid it
Yes Chris Heria made a video where he said you can spot reduce belly fat. He got a lot of flak for it and took the video down. His workouts though are great for your core.
I can single handedly say I believe most of these whilst trying to lose weight on my journey on my channel. Biggest being carbs are bad for you. Thanks for your input on this and I’m looking to these vids from the new Nutritionist Matt haha! 💪🏾
Some interesting topics in there man, I' m quite fond of looking into nutrition as well and how it impacts my sporting performance. I am always experimenting with my diet in a positive way to find one which is optimal for me!
Not embarrassed to say that Game Changers indeed changed it for me lol, and I am not planning on going back; however it is whatever best suits you & helps your performance. I find a vegan/majority plant-based diet best suitable for my feelings, performance, and health for me as a footballer. 🤷♂️
Nice video! You talk briefly about protein powder at the end, could you make a video where you go more in depth about what to look out for when getting some?
Great Video man! I personally highly recommend you do your own research aswell, you dont need to read a ton of studies or anything. Find youtubers you can trust, that have studied these fields and listen to every word theyre saying!
As a physicist (i.e. not an expert, but someone who understands and appreciates a scientific approach), and even as a vegan (plenty of people argue strongly one way or the other because it fits their narrative), I thought this was a great video!
I wasn’t sure if this video would be super accurate but I’m actually happy to see a good nutrition video, you keep it pretty simple and clear :) and I love the fact that PubMed is the page you use for most references! Great job 😉
I've spent the past 5 years extensively researching and studying the subject. I also experimented on myselef with pre-post blood work. I came to the conclusion that Weston A Price's recommendations is the best approach to optimize the gut microbiome. Mostly animal based products and fermented vegetables. Légumes and nuts must be de-activated from anti-nutrients (soaking, pressure cooking) and when it comes to carbs, some are better than others ( sweet potatoes vs potatoes) low fodmap. By focusing on nutrient dense foods and anti-nutrients, my CRP (inflammation) dropped drastically, no more bloating or digestive stress and a noticeable increase in energy levels. Unprocessed, organic meat doesn't cause cancer. If you're scared of Mtor, you can balance it with gelatin (bone broth). Dr Paul Saladino spoke about it quite intensively. Thanks for sharing this video!
Hey matt, I do you think I should eat breakfast or skip it and fast because I don’t know whether it’s better to eat or not to eat while I’m on a caloric deficit. I think this could be a cool 2 minute Tuesday idea. Thanks for the great content, keep it up. Later man
This is great! I’d love to know more about micronutrients and if that is something you should be actively thinking about to become a better athlete in a future video!
Hey Matt, in the beginning of the video you mentioned that nutrition is always changing and that you have to stay open minded to learn new info. Well I really challenge you to look in to plant based eating. If you want to learn how much more optimal it is for our health, then watch the Documentary called Game changers on netflix if you havent already. Also, look into the enviromental and ethical reasons. Even though I initially switched to plant based eating because of the amazing health benefits, I now mainly do it because I value an animals life more than my sensory pleasure. Eating animals is not a necessity.
I agree with most of what you said but I think a main problem with alot of food in America is the way the crops are cultivated. For example, the wheat used to make bread has been sprayed with pesticides in order to increase harvest size. This reduces the quality of the wheat because there are now harmful chemicals in it, e.g. arsenic which is a poison and has been found in trace amounts in the wheat used for bread. If we can go back to natural fertilizers and pesticides the quality of crops and animals we grow will improve drastically and people can then eat balanced diets without having to worry about health complications
The main reason I don’t eat red meats, and soon to be poultry, is because of how terrible and disgusting the industrial farming industry, as well as the horrible effects the industrial farming industry has on climate change. Also because of diseases that can outbreak on those industrial farms, like swine flu and mad cow
Soccer Fan well spoken man, also, we don’t need that things and they actually are bad for us. So we have no reason to keep harming others at all. For anyone who wants to deepen the argument I suggest you dominion on factory farming on cowspiracy on the effect on climate change. And the game changers for sport
Thanks for the video helped a lot but If you can could you make a video about how to gain weight because there are a lot of aspiring footballers looking to get bigger so that we can compete more with the stronger footballer thanks.

Joosung Kim ahh I’m pretty sure he’s bagging him out lol

Thanks for this video man. If football goes south for me I’ve been looking into becoming a nutritionist.
You should do a video on metabolic damage and how that affects a caloric deficit.
Thank you for the information, you are the best mate

Moderation is key . And if you cut carbs in your diet .get ready for a major energy drop throughout the day
