FANTASTIC entertainment. If you like Have I got News for You! - this is the original radio version that's been running for about 97 seasons now. Thank you so much for posting! xxxxxxxxxx

It played perfectly on my p.c. and there were no adverts either!

"I'd find it difficult to control myself."
    Essentially 'I'd commit sexual assault.'

At 20:58? Yep. Textbook double standards. But how DARE you say so! 🙄 I find Susan Calman irritating. Maybe her lusting and 'he will be MINE' approach is deemed acceptable because she ticks so many of today's 'right-on' boxes - she's small and Scottish and assertive and opinionated and a lesbian and a comedian (comedienne??) and is clever and has a law degree.
And she's just kidding, right? She's married. Got a wife and a mortgage and a cat or whatever.
But I'm sure a man would be booed and castigated for revealing having similar fantasies about a female tennis player.
      Fantasies? Hold on.
She made her fantasy a reality by actually approaching Murray's mother and talking to her about it. Whoa, there! Swap the various genders and someone would have been on the receiving end of a right good kicking.
Looks like some clever people wanna have their cake and eat it, too.
Yes, Susan is a successful comic. It's all a joke. Ha ha. I get it. But... but it's not funny, is it, because a fantasy is a very personal, private thing. There's no harm in dreaming. We all do it. But when you make it public it becomes creepy and you enter a whole new world of stalking and police cautions and restraining orders.
I'm straight and single and have always been extremely - and I do mean extremely - top-heavy. I don't like looking the way I do and have had a lifetime of being ogled, shoved, mocked, groped, covertly filmed, spat at, challenged and abused as a result.
Of course, not everybody is an arse, but today's 'lads' were raised on a diet of free internet porn and fake sex and won't accept and can't understand that their horseplay and so-called light-hearted banter - 'It's just a bit of fun you miserable bitch!' - isn't amusing or charming; it's hurtful, intimidating and depressing.
If in doubt, guys, just ask yourselves how you'd react if your daughter, girlfriend, mum, sister or wife regularly came home in tears after being harassed (sometimes physically, not just verbally) by groups of lads. Would that be funny? Would that be 'just a bit of banter'?
I quite understand why Murray's mum reacted with such horror to Susan's apparently obsessive behaviour. If it had been a man, she'd have been thinking in terms of warning him off for being a weirdo and that if he didn't desist he could potentially find himself in a lot of trouble.
Yes, Susan. Really. You were only joking? You weren't laughing, were you. Your steely-eyed determination and matter-of-fact tone of voice obviously scared the crap out of Mrs Murray.
The 1970s were a long time ago. Benny Hill's humour is no longer appropriate. I thought a woman with her intelligence would appreciate that.
And, lest we forget: box-ticking and holding a high-profile position in the media (at the BBC, no less!) is how Jimmy Savile got his kicks.
I'm not accusing Susan Calman of being a sexual predator. But if she were a man, somebody else might.
      Just saying...

I have been listening to the follow-on of this excellent programme that is now on Radio 4 hosted by Andy Zaltzman. It and its in exactly the same format and on at the same time as the old News Quiz. Its called "Boris is a C**t, The Tories are C**ts and Brexit wah, whah, wah whah throw my teddy in the corner; please mummy make it stop and put us nice middle-class people back in charge again".

    • @LoneKharnivore
      @LoneKharnivore 2 года назад

...this implies you think Boris is working class.
Also the Tories *are* cunts. They've always *been* cunts. They smashed the unions, constantly slash benefits, refuse to pay NHS and emergency workers properly, give massive sweetheart deals to their mates, won't pay for the fallout from Grenfell... what about them is loveable, in your opinion?

12:24 Studies have shown that one reason for the gender pay gap is that women in fact do *less* work than men - they take jobs with flexible working hours and use them whereas men put in overtime and stick around until the work is done. This may be related to childcare but they do objectively work less.

Yes, yes. I’m sure some studies show this. Have you noticed the trick, though? The complaint isn’t that men work more hours and put in overtime. In general, what we’re talking about is women doing the same job for a lower hourly rate. Those studies don’t seem to be about the actual issue.

Whilst i love the News Quiz,i truly despise Andy Zaltzman.
The best hosts were Simon Hoggart and Sandi Toksvig

I couldn't abide Sandi. Literally every episode had a sexist joke from her.
Miles was my favourite, followed by Andy Z.
