Great info. Many thanks. I needed these tips because I got savaged by breaking waves as I came in on my board in northeast Brazil. I made all the mistakes and was lucky nothing was broken on my my kit or on myself. The breaking waves were about a meter high but when you're standing in water a meter deep trying to hang onto your kit, the waves are just so powerful. I finally couldn't hang on any longer and just let the kit go toward the beach. What a mess it was. Just so happy to get out in one piece.

One of the most useful videos I've seen last year. I especially like the little tip about boom and sand. One technical suggestion: turn the background music down a bit.

How did you make the fake wave. It looks like a great beach storage solution?

Thanks for the tips about not losing your gear - that's always been my greatest fear after a particularly cold and tiring swim in January in the UK that took me and my kit (once I'd found it!) 600m down the beach. It really dented my confidence so anything on surf survival is always welcome. A video on how to do the walk of shame with some dignity would be a good one too! Loving your technique series, you've got across quite a few nuggets I've not seen in other videos.

I hope you bought your wave a case of beer for doing that for you. Also, super useful video; I was worried about this.
