Finally picked up the game, and i chose cyrus as my first character. I have zero regrets and am glad i liked his character the most because i didnt even know how strong he was.
Cyrus is a beast! Since you can explore most of the world at any point in the game, it's possible to get Cyrus a weapon that's +333 Elemental Atk and an accessory that's an additional +100 Elemental Atk before even starting Chapter 2!
I currently have Olberic like this, but not for any reason: it was just what was left after giving everyone else their subjobs, and I didn't want any repeats. So I have Therion as a hunter, Tressa a scholar, Primrose a Cleric, And Olberic the Apothocary
One set for Olberic to make him more offensive is the Last Stand/Fortitude/Surpassing Power set; lose a challenge with Olberic and his HP will be set to 1. Last Stand is an apothecary attack that does more damage the lower you HP is and Fortitude is the Warmaster equip skill that does the same thing. With this, Olberic does ridiculous amounts of damage (this can work really well with Sealticge’s Seduction and Aelfric’s Auspices to attack all enemies twice).
Lol well ya no shiz, that's the secret sauce for him aka Fortitude & Last Stand @ 1HP, kills any NPC in the game on the very first move. If someone doesn't know that then they have no business claiming that they know anything at all about this game. Great for any Rando battles too. Should do 99,999 damage to everyone and I don't think there is any regular enemy that can survive it.
maybe i really late join the crowd for octopath but one thing for sure... this game really dope everything , everyclass, every character can be the best version of them really2 like it
To be honest....I haven't used Dother's Charity once. I read the description and was like: "Wow, this sounds kinda useless." I dunno, maybe I haven't reached a point where this proves useful.
It works with Alfyn’s concoct ability as well as normal items; it’s best to use seeds over dust because seeds normally heal for more but only targets 1 ally; Dother’s Charity makes seeds affect everyone.
From a Defensive Standpoint Apothecary is the best fucking class in the game. And the Shieldbreaking abilities of the Class are unparalleld even by the Special classes, I took Alfyn because I liked him msot without knowing much about class strengths. But I daresay in hindsight he is probably the Main Protagonist resulting in the easiest story playthrough until you can Swap him out.
I’ve done a very similar build but with Therion! Played through the whole game with it since unlocking secondary classes! The rest of my party is Hannit/thief, Ophelia/warrior, and Cyrus/merchant! I’m only in chapter 3 for everybody so no secret jobs yet but I can’t wait!
This is the first strat I thought about when I started looking at the characters (around level 15), and I love it. But I won't watch any other video about this game until I have completed the game.
Hey, I was curious, since I always love your build videos and I'm still learning some stuff (plus your XC2 vids were extremely helpful to me during my playthrough), I was wondering if you had any subclass advice for a team of H'aanit, Therion, Tressa, and Primrose. I was currently thinking of maybe something like Warrior, Apothecary, Cleric, and Scholar, respectively. Thanks, dude! Always looking forward to new videos! :D
I'll avoid the spoilers part of the vid because I'm only done with the chapter two of each character. But I'm having a hard time picking a good place to farm jp and xp. Got any reccomendations? Also, where do I find these cait creatures?
Caits are random but have a low% to show up. So just keep grinding away and eventually you'll get them, just make sure you kill them ASAP before they run away.
How are you’re attack’s doing that much damage? My Cyrus has over 700 elemental attack and two elemental augmentors with battle tested staff and same skills as yours. But your Cyrus is doing WAY more damage then mine... is there something I’m missing?
I thought of a build for Therion Therion/Hunter Surpassing Power Patience Fleetfoot Insult to Injury I call this build a mix of support and offense Support for debuffs and Legtrap Offensive from Aeber’s Reckoning, I also enjoy using Arrowstorm when the enemy is broken and there’s no debuff to inflict.
Apothecary Olberic makes an incredible tank in the early game as he is entirely self sufficient. Equip him with a speed boosting sword so that he goes first in battle and Incite + Stout Wall + First Aid will keep the enemies off the rest of your party, allowing you to focus on buffing up your spellcasters with peacock strut via Ophilia or Primrose. Empoison is really strong for taking out npcs in duels as it does a flat percent of max HP to the opponent. Can remove debuffs from the party or revive dead members without wasting items, and can boost Defend on round 1 for instant aggro + damage reduction, something Tressa/Warrior can't do with Incite. My early-mid game Olberic tank build looks like this: Resist Ailments (passive debuff resistance, lets you free up accessory slots) Persistence (buffs you receive get 1 increased turn) The Show Goes On (buffs you give receive 1 increased turn, including on yourself) Saving Grace (can heal beyond max HP) Beastly Scarf + Dragon Scarf for passive regen Persistence and The Show Goes On stack with each other when you buff yourself, meaning that if you cast an un-boosted Incite or Stout Wall, you get them for 5 rounds. This is really strong defensively because it gives you more time to build up BP for other things when you don't have to refresh the buffs as often. An early game low level Olberic can outlast even a max difficulty duel just by keeping up Stout Wall, Empoison, and First Aid.
It certainly a good idea! However, keep in mind that a lot of powerful bosses attack with "Target Party" skills, which are undodgeable if they're magic, or "sweep" abilities that will miss Therion but still hit Olberic. This is less of an issue when doing the main chapters, though!
Whenever I play with a 1hp H'aanit, I always build my party so that I can ensure a guard break before they have a chance to attack. It helps to keep track of an enemy's weaknesses.
Danilo Barbagallo Aside from hoping for the best and for the boss to not use a target all skill, you can use Reflective Veil from the Cleric tree or the Evasion Buff from the Starseer tree, both of which will increase Olberic’s chance of survival drastically. Other than that just break the boss and use revive when necessary
i doubt you can use this build for the last boss. i am hoping to use patience, saving grace, and divine aura on all 8 party members to hope to kill those adds as quickly as possible. They just have way too much HP. I tried to farm the revitilizing jam but i think it is about as rare as farming some of the best weapons and armor in the game.
Apothecary's divine skill makes the last boss a lot easier to manage. I did a video on the fight recently, and the ability to use revitalizing jams constantly lets your sorcerer quickly dispatch the adds.
I actually managed to beat the boss today. with a consistent set up of the cleric and apothecary divine skill, i did enough damage to the first phase where the 3 adds did not become any issue at all. But, it did get pretty intense when it starts debuffing you fully.
jingkai xie Each character can have sub-class and Apothecary is a really good subclass for Olberic from a defense standpoint and Olberic was made to be a tank.
i just got all 8 characters but way under lvl to go chapter 2, what should i do now? Grind on maps? and any tips on how to lvl all characters at the same time.
Try searching for all the shrines so that you can get all the secondary jobs too! The more jobs you have at your disposal, the more options you have. In terms of grinding, you can try killing the kingfishers in grandport (lv45 danger), but if that's too challenging, a lot of people recommend Carrion Caves near Boulderfall. You may even wish to seek out powerful equipment to make the process a little easier (such as the knowledge staff in Everhold Tunnels for Cyrus)
Ugh, yet another person that picked the right job, but clearly doesn't understand the game well enough. This is not the right build for Olberic. He should have BP Eater, Fortitude, Surpassing Strength and Physical Prowess, period. And should start every fight w 1HP and Last Stand. Simple as that. Also be sure to use Concoct on turn 1 to fill everyone's BP immediately. Don't even worry bout Dohter's Charity.
i had Olberic as Apothecary and he is the Tankiest of tanks ever. And yes i just played this now since it is free from Xbox Game Pass..lol
Finally picked up the game, and i chose cyrus as my first character. I have zero regrets and am glad i liked his character the most because i didnt even know how strong he was.

Nn Li thanks! Ill have to check that out...
Just wait till you get the secret jobs, Cyrus is broken as fuck :P
@@NnLiMedia wow, where?
Lucas Valadares it is in the in a purple chest in the cave close to Everhold (shrine of the runeblade) and it is called the knowledge staff
I currently have Olberic like this, but not for any reason: it was just what was left after giving everyone else their subjobs, and I didn't want any repeats.

Apothecary has always been THE perfect job for Olberic.
maybe i really late join the crowd for octopath

everything , everyclass, every character can be the best version of them
really2 like it
To be honest....I haven't used Dother's Charity once. I read the description and was like: "Wow, this sounds kinda useless."

pomegranates in combination with dothers charity are amazing, not to mention the jams
It works with Alfyn’s concoct ability as well as normal items; it’s best to use seeds over dust because seeds normally heal for more but only targets 1 ally; Dother’s Charity makes seeds affect everyone.
Lol noob
Please make more character build recommendations like this!
I'm having the time of my life doing this, so stay tuned^^
From a Defensive Standpoint Apothecary is the best fucking class in the game. And the Shieldbreaking abilities of the Class are unparalleld even by the Special classes,
I took Alfyn because I liked him msot without knowing much about class strengths. But I daresay in hindsight he is probably the Main Protagonist resulting in the easiest story playthrough until you can Swap him out.
Second Wind is better than SP Saver, unless you're combining SP Saver with Elemental Aid.
Bogrin Cyrus /Merchant is the GOAT
Thanks for the video! It helped me a lot. I'll bem waiting for the other charachters.
Glad to hear it! There's still plenty to unpack here.
i just made him an apothecary because axes nuke
This is the first strat I thought about when I started looking at the characters (around level 15), and I love it. But I won't watch any other video about this game until I have completed the game.
Good call. There are plenty of unique experiences to be had, and it's important to see them through your own eyes first! ^^
Equip with scarves bought from Tressa's parents works too.
Hey, I was curious, since I always love your build videos and I'm still learning some stuff (plus your XC2 vids were extremely helpful to me during my playthrough), I was wondering if you had any subclass advice for a team of H'aanit, Therion, Tressa, and Primrose. People have been suggesting it, so I'll definitely try to make a "straightforward" video for my recommended secondary jobs for each character!
1 year ago.... looks like I am late to the party
Cast Dohter’s Charity on the apothecary and equip the Merchant’s Endless Items. Them you can use pomegranates and such without losing out
Why bother focusing on tanking when Olberic is so dang strong? U could have ended that battle immediately w Fortitude & Last Stand @ 1HP.
I use Apothecary-Olberic a lot but I think it would make more sense if Alfyn had the highest HP stay amongst the group.
Or just use Alf and then concoct using the purifying dust and essence of pomegranate - 2 bp for everyone on turn one, then proceed to spam ults
Especially with essence of pomegranate being really easy to farm.
How are you getting all those supports skills for Olberic
Use different sub jobs and unlock skills in those classes.
If your level is around 20-30, you can go to the Ice Cave and hunt some wolves.
got four ads here :/
How early can you make this one hit build ?
Any idea how he's able to equip a cleric skill with apothecary as his second job? How does he have access to so many support skill?
I believe if you use different jobs and unlock their support skills, they stay with you even if you change jobs
Andrew Quintero thank you for responding
Do characters still get JP even after maxing them to level 99?
You can cap all job skills before you hit level 80 sooo
How are you’re attack’s doing that much damage? My Cyrus has over 700 elemental attack and two elemental augmentors with battle tested staff and same skills as yours. But your Cyrus is doing WAY more damage then mine... is there something I’m missing?
I find him better as merchant. As he can just rest the debuffs. You do need to use anti-stun and anti-silence neck tho.
I thought of a build for Therion
Therion/Hunter
Surpassing Power
Patience
Fleetfoot
Insult to Injury
I call this build a mix of support and offense
Support for debuffs and Legtrap
Offensive from Aeber’s Reckoning, I also enjoy using Arrowstorm when the enemy is broken and there’s no debuff to inflict.
Olberic apothecary build literally just uses the divine skill for apothecary
Me: JUST USE ALFYN don’t waste a good character on something bad

What do you think of therion/warrior with 999 dodge? Obviusly to protect olberic/warmaster with 1 hp.
It certainly a good idea! However, keep in mind that a lot of powerful bosses attack with "Target Party" skills, which are undodgeable if they're magic, or "sweep" abilities that will miss Therion but still hit Olberic. This is less of an issue when doing the main chapters, though!
Nn Li you're right but how can i solve it? I can't find other character to put in my party. Can you help me?
Whenever I play with a 1hp H'aanit, I always build my party so that I can ensure a guard break before they have a chance to attack. It helps to keep track of an enemy's weaknesses.

In a non-sopilery way, is the secret boss the one in the journey's end quest? And if so, how hard would you say it is?
Very hard, bring your A-Game, make sure everyone is at the very least level 70 and set them up with the best builds you can think for them.
Without question, the hardest challenge in the game. So much so, that he makes the Chapter 4 bosses feel like fighting regular enemies lol :P
i doubt you can use this build for the last boss. i am hoping to use patience, saving grace, and divine aura on all 8 party members to hope to kill those adds as quickly as possible. Why are you using the energizing pomegranate on Olberic?
Gotta get that Divine Skill asap!
Nn Li But you already had 2 BP so you ended up with one wasted item
You need 3 BP for a full boost D:
Nn Li You had 2 BP, used the pomegranate and ended up with 3 BP. THEN the next turn began and you went up to 4 BP, 1 more than what you needed.
Oh okay. Well, I can't get enough of that sweet sweet BP :P
What is the recommended level to get the secret classes?
50 to 55, you should do the Sorcerer and Runelord first
Isn’t Olberic warrior ?
jingkai xie Each character can have sub-class and Apothecary is a really good subclass for Olberic from a defense standpoint and Olberic was made to be a tank.

It's definitely nice giving Alfyn Endless Items. But the way you're using Olberic here is just all wrong.
