  • Tim Simenon a.k.a. Bomb The Bass and then collaborator DJ Merlin gave this short interview. I gather it was September 1988 and it took place in Munich. Tim was one of the early DJ-heroes coming from Britain who hit the scene with a huge bang. "This is a journey into sound" Remember these haunting words from "Beat Dis" you heard while flippin' around on the dance floor of your favorite disco? Well, that's him. Or rather Tim's booming beats and a lot of clever samples.
Associated acts and artists Tim later produced include Neneh Cherry, Depeche Mode, Jah Wobble, Sinéad O'Connor and many others. He disappeared in the mid nineties only to make short comeback in 2008. Haven't heard of him since... If you know anything, feel free to do so in the comment section!
I am not allowed to include the intermixed video clips in the original tape, so sorry. Others are obviously able to post the BtB-videos, so you just look them up yourself.

As Bomb the Bass, Tim did 2 more albuns after 2008 "Future Chaos": "Back to Light" (2010) and "In The Sun" (2013). After that, he moved to Prague to start a Meatball's restaurant, as he felt accomplished regarding music. To my knowledge, the restaurant closed doors somewhen between 2018 and 2020. Dunno what he's up to now.

Do you reckon Andy Fletcher planted the idea of starting a restaurant? 🤔
