I’m so glad we had ours done every year. It meant that when water ingress was identified we could eventually have it all sorted under warranty. Take care Gill
Oh wow that's brilliant you caught it under warranty! Very good reason to have the hab check done, thanks Gill 🥰
This is gold, thank you!
Glad you found it useful 🥰 thank you
I’ve used the same approved workshop scheme mobile technician for years, with every thing you mention, he’s fully qualified on all makes and changes £90 and comes to your house.
That's an excellent price Graham especially as he's approved and you don't even have to leave the drive 🙂👍 It's good to know that is available as some workshops are booked up for months in advance
I have a caravan and it’s the same sticker. We have a mobile come to our storage yard, he has the certificates and I get that sticker on the A frame. I always book him for the start of March so we are ready for the season. In addition to damp check something not done on yours because it would come under vehicle service, he strips out wheels to check brakes bearings etc so well worth it for peace of mind. About £200 so reasonable for what he does in this day and age.
That's a really good price Bob, can see why you repeat book him especially with the brake check - we didn't think of that on a caravan thanks very much for sharing, very helpful indeed 😊👍
We have used all combinations of technicians, dealer workshop (very expensive) approved mobile technician (much cheaper but just as thorough) and an independent workshop which said it was ‘approved’ but as we later discovered to our cost, wasn’t.
The damp check is very important in a coachbuilt (which we had previously) and unfortunately the independent workshop didn’t spot some damp and when we traded the Motorhome in earlier this year the trade in price was very much affected.
If we still had a coach built I would go for dealer hab test but as we are now back to a panel van it will be approved mobile technician for us. He’s local (Warrington) very thorough and very experienced.
Oh wow that's good to know thanks Ann and not far from us 😊 Sorry to hear about your coach built motorhome that must have been very frustrating when you have kept up the checks etc. Good advice though to others thank you 🥰
@@VantasticAdventures was frustrating but behind us now 👍🏻
Good vlog Ian, I think the Hab Check is essential for something you're sleeping in but I think the dealers are rinsing owners so when our next van comes, I think we will look for a recommended mobile tech. Cheers K.
Yes that's a good shout and lots of owners seem to do similar from the comments 👍 If you have a good one recommended then definitely worth it too 😊
One thing that is questionable wonder how people go about self build hab checks. As these will not be built by a qualified person most of the time
