dry that roof in and set up the rain/snow harvesting sooner than later, keep that investment in that ply in like new condition and so you don't miss out on the next good weather event.
Looks very good - feels holy ❤ Good alternative to seed oil to protect the wood is to slightly burn it - it is a Japanese technic and it keeps the wood against agression & insects
Your home is coming along beautifully!! I'm so inspired by the fact that only you two have constructed it by hand, over time, with mostly materials on hand.
Love it all! Especially the thicker high quality roof ply! I'm in Winslow on a fresh 5 acres! I've got enough limestone on my property to build a skyscraper
Yes it does feel great and with a roof on your head - feels like home ! One cheap technic to protect wood in time is to burn it - that a cheap alternative to seed oil !
Wow guys it's moving along fast now! The rough cut w/ natural edges looks so nice on the front. I'm so impressed (and jealous!) of your ability. I'm hoping my next life I get to do positive and productive things like this🕉️
I think it's super that you source your build primarily from the ground under your feet and the plants at hand. Green as hell bro. Aim for the new tomorrow.
I love it! You're such a tease lol...I have a good guess what you'll be starting inside! 😉 Glad the weather has been nice for you guys to work it seems. I came across a snake a few days ago here in NM, almost stepped on it. The days have been unseasonably warm.
Looks like it could be a pretty cozy space when it's done! Do you have an episode where you explain the architectural decisions? For example, it looks like the rooms do not connect, so going between them requires going outside.
I think I'll have my life videos cover those fine details, since you guys seem to want weekly live video. But no I don't think a specific video covers everything, it's all been in episodes!✌🏾
As always, the absolute best build on the internet. The form following the function aesthetic is so on point. You two are the hardest working pair on the yt. And I have solid trust in your proven outcomes. 💯 ❤🎉
Got to say the vibe has been turned up a few notches this week bro, like youve finally made it home and less of a camp. Amazed the progress man ill keep saying it. Its quite a feat for so few hands and all the work guys did on the earth works. Looking forward to more of that homely vibes man we feeling your relief😅🎉
@GrowTreeOrganics hey your friend has a channel I saw his vid in recommended. Do you know the guy I mean? I'd like to sub to his channel also. Lives in a flat area near you. I saw you in his vid
@hirokawiti4932 I do know him. I may go to his place to do a video idea he had soon! He has similar goals as we do,very nice guy. I know he'd love more support, Sub away!😅✌🏾
You are lucky to live in a country where you can buy cheap land and build how you want. Here a tiny lots cost hundreds of thousands and you are not allowed to build as you want. Every day 3 new law come to restrict building houses. So you have to pay at least 300000 for the build of a small house - even when you do a lot of work yourself! Merry Christmas!
Thank you! It is a shame the restrictions on housing and land use especially when there are proven alternatives. Changing the laws can be a way we can do our part in progressing things!✌🏾
A great build!! I'm so glad to see someone else creating their dream. I'm building an outdoor kitchen and can relate to your struggles but also the problem solving that is required. Hard work, but worth it!!
@@GrowTreeOrganics :) i have some ideas, which seem the wrong ones, that's why I asked. it will be a surprise then. I guess it will be some king of upcycled method, but ok, don't spoil it. Great work by the two of you by the way.
Thx for the video. I'm sure you're likely tired of advice, but stapling _plastic_ (even expired greenhouse plastic) onto the posts and then re-attaching the slab lumber may be worth your while down the line. Good luck!
arent you suppose to use nails not screws for exterior construction?? something about nails being able to move with thermal expansion and wind, but screws will break easier than nails
It seems as though the most insulated part of your home is at the base of the wall. Can you tell me why? If you are in the desert i would think that protection from the sun would be more important
It would seem, but looks are deceiving. Nothing is 100% you'll see how we'll handle the outside! perhaps the upcoming livestream I can answer that in detail.✌🏾
I'm curious how you guys decided to purchase this property and why 10 acres? I'm interested in doing something similar in the future. Any advice would be helpful. I'm looking at Cochise county but have to wait until I retire.
I went to buy one pair of socks and at the last step it added another pair without my permission. I went ahead and bought it, but can you please let them know that is NOT cool.
#photomoleculareffect A newfound phenomenon The new work builds on research reported last year, which described this new “photomolecular effect” but only under very specialized conditions: on the surface of specially prepared hydrogels soaked with water. In the new study, the researchers demonstrate that the hydrogel is not necessary for the process; it occurs at any water surface exposed to light, whether it’s a flat surface like a body of water or a curved surface like a droplet of cloud vapor. Because the effect was so unexpected, the team worked to prove its existence with as many different lines of evidence as possible. In this study, they report 14 different kinds of tests and measurements they carried out to establish that water was indeed evaporating - that is, molecules of water were being knocked loose from the water’s surface and wafted into the air - due to the light alone, not by heat, which was long assumed to be the only mechanism involved. One key indicator, which showed up consistently in four different kinds of experiments under different conditions, was that as the water began to evaporate from a test container under visible light, the air temperature measured above the water’s surface cooled down and then leveled off, showing that thermal energy was not the driving force behind the effect. Other key indicators that showed up included the way the evaporation effect varied depending on the angle of the light, the exact color of the light, and its polarization. None of these varying characteristics should happen because at these wavelengths, water hardly absorbs light at all - and yet the researchers observed them. The effect is strongest when light hits the water surface at an angle of 45 degrees. It is also strongest with a certain type of polarization, called transverse magnetic polarization. And it peaks in green light - which, oddly, is the color for which water is most transparent and thus interacts the least.
