But then I remembered it was all from the transworld documentary on him. Which makes sense, when someone is telling their life story they only have one life story.

I met Daewon in Brea CA at a skate shop called Liberty Boardshop. It was so cool. He was such a nice person to my brother and I. I was about 7 my brother was 10 in the early 2000’s. We used to just watch him skate the parking lot with the older guys. We would always be at that skate shop and anytime he showed up he would always go out of his way to say hello to us. I’m glad he’s doing well! Much love Daewon.

Because of this show I supported a local skate shop. Not my local but someone’s. I am stoked for the Dub 9” classic/modern Hawk shape Hybrid. I know its singed but I bought it to skate. When I get it I will make the final decision but I do have one coming. It is a mash up of so many things Thank you, nine club, Song, Puds, Dubs, its an amazing collaboration and without the show I would never have known it was even out.
I watched Savannah Slamma in person. Glad to hear Daewon loved the video! Growing up as a skateboarder in Savannah, we were basically only seeing the magazines or Powell videos. The surfshop had Santa Cruz Wheels of Fire /Streets of Fire/Hocus Pocus but when Love Child came out, THAT VIDEO CHANGED MY ENTIRE LIFE. Snarf snarf.
Daewon was the first pro that I noticed in real life. From videos and mags to an actual pro who was around. RIP Pyro skate at puente hills mall. He skates it in his 411vm day in the life.
I met Daewon at a World demo in 1995 or 6 in Milwaukee and he started talking to me and we chatted for a while. Not only one of the nicest pros but also a nice person. Legend.
That was so damn good. Daewon and Torey were both in my top 5 favorites when i was younger, which is funny because Torey is my age, but the way he did kickflip crooks and backtails, the pop, the long front crooks and nollie flipping in to shit.. I was so inspired.. and to me daewon just did so much crazy shit I didn't think it was possible so I didn't even try to learn. I really WISH you guys played more clips of the guests skating.. the deca 2nd to none part, almost round 3, skate more.. toreys big bang and all his parts and insanely difficult tricks. growing up locally, daewon was always the coolest down to earth dude. we’d see him skating around town, at wilson skatepark, transitions, etc. the man never turned down an autograph and always had stacks of stickers to give out. much respect, daewon. 💯
We used to skate vert with Tracker hard bushings in our Indys & tight as shit. Crazy. When I started skating FDR, I was told to loosen my trucks a quarter turn once a week. Changed my skating so much. Love loose trucks but always have my skate key with me. Roll on.
I love when anyone date drops and i can think back to those times... I love seeing the old footage with the date stamp on it. Super cool to see how good TP was in 2000.
Daewon was always one of my faves growing up and I got to meet him in the early 2000's at DVS demo at the Chino skate park, He came and hung out with us across the street at this small skate shop that had opened recently and skated the Mini ramp with us just chilling having a good ass time with a few of my boys. such a dope memory

I would love to see him interviewed by someone from the non skating world where we could get to hear him speak his mind on his journey beyond skateboarding because he is an incredibly special and insightful human being. Just imagine being a fly on the wall listening to him and rodney talking late into the night! We love and appreciate you Daewon. And I'm not just saying that you are truly appreciated. Thank you. Been waiting for this! Also one audio editing request - laughter on the group is overpowering a smooth talker like Daewon. Maybe normalize it a bit and do a hard limiter on the group and or boost up the compression on him. In premiere there is a tool called loudness meter that you can find hot spots good for longer videos like these
