I do agree with Cry. The story in this game would've been better told as a movie or a book. The game (until it's fully explained) is pretty confusing for the most part.
I just beat the mermaid last night! It felt awesome. Did it on second try after watching a few walkthroughs for strategy and accepting the fact that it would take about 30 hits and use most of my health items. Wow the chocolate really boosts your health. Save it for when you are almost dead.
Okay that guy that was 'confronting' Diana gave me the creeps. For media of the story, I can see this as a tv mini-series about a woman facing the truma in her childhood with psycholigical thriller and fixing in the plot holes withou giving way the twist
Yaknow. I'm happy for Cry, I really am. He's got such supportive fans with whatever he does. If I had fans like this... I would want to personally give each and everyone of them a hug and a day to spend with them. Love you Cry
Time of battle: 2 minutes and 5 seconds, sped up 8.5 times the normal rate. That puts the time spent to roughly 18 minutes of bullshit, more exactly 17 minutes and about 42 seconds. Cry, props for holding out that long. You're a champ, mate.
I agree with your rant entirely. It's a fascinating story, and the gameplay is very drawn out and it's hard to enjoy it with the way the game was set up. However, I still enjoy the darkness and the creativity involved with the actual stories and characters.
I must be missing something here because I still am not understanding the story line, even with Cry explaining it and reading people's comments slightly explaining it. They did not do a good job with making the gameplay explain the story
I don't know if you are still wondering, but I believe Jennifer is reliving parts of her childhood but through the eyes and body of a 19 year old woman, which may be why she doesn't fight back, because she is remembering being a child who was pushed around by the other kids, and the whole purpose of her re-living parts of her childhood is so she can remember a promise she made and I guess broke and now wants to try to right her wrong by remembering it. don't hold me to that, but I'm pretty sure that is at least close to what is happening. sorry if you are still confused. :/
*This might be a spoiler to some people, just don't look, finish the video* It seems Hoffman got her pregnet than performed an abortion himself, obviously hiding the fact he slept with a 15-16 year old. And in her boss battle her gills are suppose to be suicide cuts, the scar across her stomach the performed abortion, the laughing and then the crying the mood swings, and then the vomiting, morning sickness.
Jackyl R Ok I knew that Mr. Hoffman was doing things to Clara, but I didn't know that he got her pregnant, but you're explanation does help a lot, though it does sound like some Jerry Springer, Muray, or Steve Wilkos stuff. Lol I don't know why, but it does to me XD
NanimeTheWhiteWolf Yeah from the cut scene with the mermaid doll it's clear that Mr. Hoffman is a rapist, but I definitely couldn't get the rest of that
Though this isn't my type of game at all, I will say that this game has one of the prettiest soundtracks I've ever heard. All of those pretty violins are fantastic!!
I'm so glad that you decided to keep updating rule of rose♥ and I totally agree on you with the battle system. I think it would have been a much smarter idea to have made the battles more like a rhythm game in which you press the right button at the right time.
its about jennifer as an adult reliving ber memories. this all happened to when she was a kid. for example the mermaid princess boss is obviously clara who was getting sexually abused by hoffman. her legs being tied by rope symbolizes her wanting to keep her legs together. also all the kids are dead except jennifer. if you wanna learn more, go on the wikia
It's called leet speak AKA 1337 speak, where numbers and symbols represent specific assigned letters. It's a way to write letters, or texts, so that people who don't have time to decipher, will just give up.
There are many references to kidnapped children in the vicinity of the orphanage. There are also the references to "peas"; the story which Gregory tells in the basement room pretty clearly suggests that he kidnaps children, "grinds" them and buries them in the backyard, which has signs of extensive digging. Gregory seems to have three distinct personas in the game: the sane but suicidal man, the delusional kidnapper and the animalistic Stray Dog who actually kills the children afterwards.
I like his deals " I have a shovel, you have a gun-we can make a deal, you give me the gun, i'll give you a walloping if you don't" Sounds like a good deal to me XD
Completely agree with the description. The story itself is decent. Maybe it would have been better as an RPG. You're a better man than I, Cry. There's no way I would have continued after that mermaid thing.
When cry said the whole thing about the mermaid boss and the allegory behind it, my mind exploded a little, because it made SO much sense and I would have never thought about it if he hadn't said it! Damn. o_o
This is actually a really good game and the story line and plot seem to be going along... eh, pretty smoothly. You should definitely watch from part one. And I've never played/watched someone play silent hill, so I wouldn't know. But this game was a lot like Haunting Ground in the beginning, but now it's not so much.
Those clothes are implied to be Jennifer's mind's censored version of a corpse. Also, Gregory's pea poem is pretty creepy if you listen to the full thing. Cry was onto something when he realized there was a kidnapping a week. It's implied that Gregory, in his insanity, took random kids for his dead son and kidnapped and cannibalized them.
I agree with you Cry, because I think that the characters here have potential, just like the story! Perhaps with better game designers this would have gone better. I though that the concept was cool but...I see that you have to be drunk to finish this. *lowers visor* Let's do this
In the secret diary of J and W (cheat codes) that was not used in the game, its implied that Wendy knows the real Joshua. Unfortunately, we cannot know for sure as Joshua's diary is unable to be opened. But I think there's enough hints...
Essentially, Jennifer is trying to regain the forgotten memories of her childhood in the orphanage. It is speculated that the few adults in the game (the maid, the headmaster Hoffman) abandoned the wild children or were actually killed by them. The Mermaid Princess it took Cry so long to defeat here is an almost Silent-Hillish monster version of the girl Clara, who was supposedly sexually abused by Hoffman. Her bound legs are supposed to represent her desire to "keep her legs closed".
Anyone else curious about what things would have Cry found in the rooms where he saw the guy drinking or scratching his head? He actually had the chance to check on them when Jennifer was escaping from the house.. but he didn't. No time for dilly dallying I suppose?
I've refreshed I don't know how many times and I'm getting no audio, dunno how to fix this, but it's only for part 8. Makes no effing sense. Otherwise, I adore the series and I'm happy you're on to new and better combat systems.
It changes the text in the comments from normal text to "1337" or 'leet' text. This is a temporary effect that lasts until you change or refresh the page. Just give it a go! :)
Oh cry, the shit you go through just to please us fans. You're right this shouldn't really be a video game but more like a movie or visual novel. To come back and keep playing this thing is very much appreciated and I hope everyone else can appreciate this too.
I would like to suggest on the game Dangan Ronpa: Hope's Academy and Despair Students as his next play through. Would be interesting to mix a mystery genre with our very own Cry xD
Before this I watched "Vampire: The Masquerade" and when they were talking about "The Dangerous Thing" (Gun) I immediately thought about "Boom-Stick" After I thought of that, he said "Oh you mean the boom-stick"
The January 9th note freaked me out a little cuz it's my birthday and because the girl who writhe the not was named Wendy and it said something about Joshua running away with her and one of my favorite bands,All Tie Low wrote a song and the lyrics were "Wendy, run away with me.I know it sounds crazy..." Ok...now I'm babbling
I really enjoy watching your videos :3 I like the story line but the game play could use a lot of work, maybe another media type would have suited it better? well anyways keep up the good work!
Wow the battle at the beginning was reALLY long. If thats sped up, I'd hate to see normal speed XD (Thanking Cry for speeding up unnecessarily long battles involving barfing mermaids.)
"Goodnight Joshua."
Cry: "No I was Johniffer you idiot."
Good story, horrific gameplay
Uuuugh Hoffman touching Diana like that is so creepy.
And to believe there are many people still doing that kind of stuff.
🤢
I love the plot of this story. Its not so much scary but more towards creepy and maddening. But if they only made it more better...
Your picture is just.... 😭❤❤❤
aryanna guzman you guys are so kawaii!
all the yaoi!
this game's story is so amazing, but i think i should've been a book instead of a game, but it's still pretty awesome.
Walking Nerd might have been too confusing though.
+Kelly Jones Hahaha, your kidding right? There is a ton of books that have confusing plotlines and disturbing symbolism.
+Walking Nerd yeah its a terrible game but as a book it might not be so awful.
yeah but this?
You cannot really express the horror and anxiety the main character feels when she doesn't even think or talk?
Kelly Jones ...What on Earth are you talking about?
"Can I fuck with the hole?
No, I cannot fuck with the hole."
That sounds wrong, Cry.
Sped up 8.5x. Wow.
So that battle was actually 15-20mins long. Dam. Shitty combat man
I do agree with Cry. The story in this game would've been better told as a movie or a book. The game (until it's fully explained) is pretty confusing for the most part.
I think cry made a pretty good head canon. The only reason the toys are alive is because Andy believes they are. Huh.
But they were alive when Andy was not in the room! how is it his imagination?
TheWolfGamer Maybe his imagination "powered" them up? So, if he stopped believing they weren't alive, they would eventually "run out of power".
Wow, some heavy stuff are going on in this game...
She couldn't possibly be upset by that clothing style, Cry. I mean, did you SEE what she was wearing?
Cry:You can be John...-ifer
10:45 **heavy lore drop** "...but she still took my biscuits" That cracked me up XD
Cry!You just ruined my childhood with Toy Story *Laughs*
Thank you cry for telling me what the story is, i was so confused.
I had this on full volume and now my brother next door probably thinks I'm watching torture porn, thanks for that intro Cry!
I think the little doodles in the books and other parts are friggin adorable
I just beat the mermaid last night! It felt awesome. Did it on second try after watching a few walkthroughs for strategy and accepting the fact that it would take about 30 hits and use most of my health items. Wow the chocolate really boosts your health. Save it for when you are almost dead.

For media of the story, I can see this as a tv mini-series about a woman facing the truma in her childhood with psycholigical thriller and fixing in the plot holes withou giving way the twist
We're dealing with a black and white alcoholic.. horrible.
"but you know she still took my busicuts!"
WHERE ARE THE BISCUITS???? XD
I really, really, really like the music!
if you do the math that fight at the beging took 20 to 30 mintues
Johnifer. That works.
Cry: "All that was blocking my way in getting through was barrels?" Pewds 25,470,102 miles away: "BARRELS I FUCKING KNEW IT."
So many LESBIANS in this game!
I'm just guessing here but it seems all the girls and maybe the boys were raped so maybe the girls are afraid of boys? Idk
the Stray Dog gives Candy and steals children away
Words can not express how happy I am to see Cry keep playing this :D
Yaknow. I'm happy for Cry, I really am. He's got such supportive fans with whatever he does. If I had fans like this... I would want to personally give each and everyone of them a hug and a day to spend with them. Love you Cry
Comments that aged like milk
2:02 if you want to skip the mermaid battle
what happend to the dog?!
John- iffer. LMAO. That was awesome.
Time of battle: 2 minutes and 5 seconds, sped up 8.5 times the normal rate.
That puts the time spent to roughly 18 minutes of bullshit, more exactly 17 minutes and about 42 seconds. Cry, props for holding out that long. You're a champ, mate.
I miss you so much, Cry! I had a bad week. 1 second into your video I already feel better!
"Forced abortion"? What? Where the fuck did that come from? Did I miss something from earlier?
From the symbolic scars from the background of Clara the "Mermaid Princess."
I AM SO CONFUSED.
The creep! The professor dude!
I agree with your rant entirely. It's a fascinating story, and the gameplay is very drawn out and it's hard to enjoy it with the way the game was set up. However, I still enjoy the darkness and the creativity involved with the actual stories and characters.
i get this hole story now omg!! its so....understandible now!!
XD
Cry killed my brain at 10:30
I must be missing something here because I still am not understanding the story line, even with Cry explaining it and reading people's comments slightly explaining it. They did not do a good job with making the gameplay explain the story

Thank you so much for coming back to this series, Cry!
Thank you so much Cry! Glad you decided to continue playing this!
How the fuck did he get all that abortion stuff from the mermaid battle?!
*This might be a spoiler to some people, just don't look, finish the video*
It seems Hoffman got her pregnet than performed an abortion himself, obviously hiding the fact he slept with a 15-16 year old. And in her boss battle her gills are suppose to be suicide cuts, the scar across her stomach the performed abortion, the laughing and then the crying the mood swings, and then the vomiting, morning sickness.
Jackyl R ah, thank you
This is probably a little overdue, but your welcome, bro.
Hoffman is a rapist, but I definitely couldn't get the rest of that
This episode prooves Wendy is still coolest and everyone else at the place are all jerks
ACTUALLY SPOILER ALERT. she is the main antagonist and Jennifer bitch slaps her in the end cuz she killed Brown and told everyone to hate on her
i just wanna say : TY TY THANK YOU! for killing that horrible Mermaid Bit**!
she made me quit on this game years ago! yay! \o/ i'm so happy! hahaha
I have no idea what this game is about
Me too 🤔
its about jennifer as an adult reliving ber memories. this all happened to when she was a kid. for example the mermaid princess boss is obviously clara who was getting sexually abused by hoffman. her legs being tied by rope symbolizes her wanting to keep her legs together. also all the kids are dead except jennifer. if you wanna learn more, go on the wikia
This is the video that got me into Savant! I love him and cry so thank you cry for using his songs and making these awesome videos!!!!
Yeah, probably. Which is weird because there are quite a few horror games that are relatively short but still very good.
I am so happy Cry is playing this again, I was starting to think he had discontinued it
By far the funniest and best playthrough of a video game I've ever seen:)
Cry, thanks so much for continuing the series!
"Ever lasting true love, I am yours" this game has very good sentimental moments
I love the music Cry plays in the outros and fast forward scenes :3
It's called leet speak AKA 1337 speak, where numbers and symbols represent specific assigned letters. It's a way to write letters, or texts, so that people who don't have time to decipher, will just give up.

" I have a shovel, you have a gun-we can make a deal, you give me the gun, i'll give you a walloping if you don't"
Sounds like a good deal to me XD
I'm glad you're willing to finish the game, I can't wait to see the story unravel while you play it :)
Yay Me and my friend have been waiting for this >< Thank you Cry for continuing this!!
Yay! Thank you so much for giving it another chance! I love you! You're the best ^^
Completely agree with the description. The story itself is decent. Maybe it would have been better as an RPG. You're a better man than I, Cry. There's no way I would have continued after that mermaid thing.
YAY YOU MADE PART 8. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THISSSSS.
I know its hard to play, But pleaseeee continue the series.
Ah, the tracks Cry puts in the videos (like the songs at the end of his videos) he makes are awesome.
When cry said the whole thing about the mermaid boss and the allegory behind it, my mind exploded a little, because it made SO much sense and I would have never thought about it if he hadn't said it! Damn. o_o
Dude typing in 1980 and listening to the beginning of Cry's video is awesome when you play.
This is actually a really good game and the story line and plot seem to be going along... eh, pretty smoothly. You should definitely watch from part one. And I've never played/watched someone play silent hill, so I wouldn't know. But this game was a lot like Haunting Ground in the beginning, but now it's not so much.
Thank you Cry so much for doing this. I know you may hate it but I really like it when you play... It.
I really like these videos and would like it if you continued the series. Even if its hard. I believe in you man.
For the first part of it I was thinking, I don't like dubstep or anything like it much, except when it's on one of your videos, thank you Cry! :)
Hooooohly frick, that boss is ridiculous. D: ... Thanks for playing and speeding it up, cry. 0-0
I think this would have been better as a video game visual novel.

I'm supposed to be asleep BUT I'VE WAITED TOO DAMN LONG FOR THIS
That part about wendy brought back so many memories of how I used to sneak out a lot when I was in high school
:)
Essentially, Jennifer is trying to regain the forgotten memories of her childhood in the orphanage. I like the music in the outro, Savant is my favorite music artist
where does cry get all his music from?! i love it :3
Anyone else curious about what things would have Cry found in the rooms where he saw the guy drinking or scratching his head? He actually had the chance to check on them when Jennifer was escaping from the house.. but he didn't. No time for dilly dallying I suppose?

Awesome choice of music, for the outro, you know.
Savant's awesome :D
It changes the text in the comments from normal text to "1337" or 'leet' text. This is a temporary effect that lasts until you change or refresh the page. Just give it a go! :)
Cry has turned me into a fan of Savant music. Epic stuff.
How did you do that anyway? That's amazing.
Oh cry, the shit you go through just to please us fans. You're right this shouldn't really be a video game but more like a movie or visual novel. To come back and keep playing this thing is very much appreciated and I hope everyone else can appreciate this too.
0.o your theory on the mermaid was interesting. I wonder whats up with the rest of this game. And why arent you on the fish anymore?
I would like to suggest on the game Dangan Ronpa: Hope's Academy and Despair Students as his next play through. Would be interesting to mix a mystery genre with our very own Cry xD
Cry, I respect you so much for continuing, especially after the freaking mermaid. I would have probably given up long before her anyway. xD
Before this I watched "Vampire: The Masquerade" and when they were talking about "The Dangerous Thing" (Gun) I immediately thought about "Boom-Stick" After I thought of that, he said "Oh you mean the boom-stick"
I Think Joshua was one of the missing kids, and that guy was his father that had tone a little in
you better do another video!!! I want to see whats next!
Cry, I appreciate the drop bass and dance party at the beginning.
The January 9th note freaked me out a little cuz it's my birthday and because the girl who writhe the not was named Wendy and it said something about Joshua running away with her and one of my favorite bands,All Tie Low wrote a song and the lyrics were "Wendy, run away with me.I know it sounds crazy..."
