The amount of people that get unreasonably angry in these comments over what is essentially adults playing pretend is staggering. I appreciate the GCP for the content and community. Thank you
I'd really like to see Matthew dig in to the Exploit Weakness role play. Don't just say you exploit a personal weakness, say what you pull out of your pocket that will weaken the creature's defenses! Half the fun of a Thaumaturge is getting to gaslight the universe into making whatever bullshit you come up with actually work! "Alien subterranean fire mole? I have just the thing; a blue quartz geode cracked open on a clear winter's day. Funny story how I got it actually..."
Troy will change his tune about the +10AC critical hits quite fast once he plays with a boss monster that is at least Party Level+3. Once he has a turn when the boss crits with every action, he will see why it's important. It's also one of the main reasons why PF2e's tactical combat can be varied and meaningful. Setting up Flanking or grabbing the enemy might be better than attacking because you can help everyone else at the party hit or crit. With enough team work the party can have rolls with Demoralize for -1/-2AC Status , +1 Hit Status Bless, +1/+2 Hit Circumstance from Aid and -2 AC flanking Status, for a minimum of +5 and max of +8 hit chance increase and even more at higher levels (with Bards being able to swing for the fences with Fortissimo Composition (increasing it's +1 from Courageous Anthem up to +3). In short, good parties can leverage the math in their favor and make short work of difficult encounters.
I still smile every time we see a foundry map and I notice the players in the bottom left: everyone listed with their real names +some with character names in brackets, except for Skid who's named as "murderton3000" :D
We switched from using Foundry to play 5e to using Foundry to play PF2E about a year ago, and let me tell you, I would not have stuck with PF2E if not for Foundry doing all the calculations for us. I jumped in deciding to play a melee strength-based investigator with the rogue archetype, which was possibly the dumbest idea ever for a first time player, but I've managed to hit level 6 without giving up because the hardest thing about running combat in Foundry is figuring out what to do with my 3 actions, rather than all that math and condition logistics. Looking forward to next week!
On the critical misses: this only has no effect due to group composition. A critical miss on a melee attack is a trigger for all Riposte style reactions. If one of the group was a Swashbuckler, he‘d already have access to this at third level, meaning he’d get a Strike as a reaction to a critical miss against him. And since there are also enemies around that have similar actions, critical misses are pretty relevant, especially on higher levels.
I hope she has a moment where the char starts feeling more like she belongs, maybe she is nearly a last man standing situation and she finishes things off
I'm not so sure Brother Ramius should have gained the benefit of flanking (i.e. off-guard) when using Divine Lance. I believe it only applies to melee attacks. Not sure if it would have made a difference since he hit a DC of 20 on hit "attack", but still,...it was likely to have been close. "Flanking (Player Core pg. 425) When you and an ally are flanking a foe, it has a harder time defending against you. A creature is off-guard (taking a -2 circumstance penalty to AC) to melee attacks from creatures that are flanking it."
I think it's definitely the sleep Troy. I stayed up way too late playing video games and then working on college assignments for a few days in a row. Then my eyes started twitching uncontrollably for a few weeks or a couple months.
Not sure of the level of these guys, but don't forget Stunning Fist has the incapacitation trait. Also, as a point, if you did Hero Points the way you're supposed to, people wouldn't feel the need to horse them and might use them more often for fun things. Just saying...
About "saunas" and contacts. The answer is "no, you can't" at least not in that temperature. In lower very very cautious maybe. But docs don't recommend - because bacteria and stuff.
This is the first ep of GW I didn't watch live with the Naish, but tbf I was watching the debate live with that oooother Naish I'm a member of. See ya in the chat next week!
Joe says at one point that Troy gives every creature attack of opportunity even if they don’t normally have it, but they often don’t have it or, if they do, they don’t use it. Maybe Joe is not remembering correctly? Or maybe I am.
I get the eye twitch thing. It tends to occur after a lot of screen time. I work 10 hour days on a computer. If i then also play a computer game in the evening to unwind, I'll frequently get the eyetwitch the next day. Drives me nuts.
The drow originate on Golarian. They fled earth fall by going underground. They survived earth fall but didn't survive the remaster. Joe keeps mentioning drow but I would be shocked to see them.
listening to Blood of the wild ep before this and Joe had exactly the same reaction rolling a 19 as he did with the low rolls here, he needs to go to a nice steam room, help relax him.
My work bff in laws are Finnish...he said the sauna can be 105C that's like 220 F...didn't believe him till I we did it. That usually when you get that first insane blast of heat when pouring water on the stones. Some Finn's like it hotter still. Biggest rule, no metal ie jewelry and piercing.
@@ShoobieDoobieDoo ahh cool didn’t know that was a thing. Makes sense. Have to say, it’s very anticlimactic to watch someone roll continuously to achieve something. If there was a consequence of time it might be more interesting. I get not wanting to punish them even more tho. They’re already having a hard enough time.
The Banter is great, episode is fun, and everyone appears to be having a good time. I also don't like the way crits work in 2E. I feel like they happen too often and swing the encounters to much. I think I would like if they worked differently. Anyway fun sesh gang.
@@ShoobieDoobieDoo I like seeing all the participants and GCN are really good at those over the air skype meetings. They could do the same with one camera for each person at the table too, with a few zoomed out shots of the whole group for immersion. I'm just here to say Kate earned that cap dead to rights, after that grilling. So funny. But that's cap worthy.

The amount of times Sydney says “watch this”, then misses is just comical. 😂
Yeah, it's so sad when she starts setting up this really awesome scene, and then... Miss.
These King in Yellow ads have got me straight hyped!
It's pride month. They've got me gay hyped!

‘Do noooooot skimp on the whiz.’
pretty sure joe orders cheesesteaks by just yelling "BEEF!"
To be fair, it was Skid who said it first.
I missed it on the first listen, but he did say it literally as the credits were rolling

The psychic really blossoms on level 3 (Specially after the changes to the Rem) Great episode! Im so hungry for this, I want 4 hour marathons.
@53:18
I don't remember seeing Kate be so happy. What a great rare treat. She deserves better dice roles.
you know who loves a good coed steam? Richard Bubbles that's who!
That’s Dick Bubbles sir 😊
I have to say the music to the intra and outro and the ads are fantastic, really gets me everytime
Everything Troy complained about physically can be explained by him drinking too much coffee. Lol
I'm not sure who does these thumbnails (McD?) but they deserve an Oscar!!
Dont change the countdown theme please. The countdown is what gets me in the mood inpreperation of the show.
I think that may be up to RUclips and not them.

I love how small the core books are. They look like they'll actually fit on bookshelves without having to be turned on their sides.

Damn it Troy. Give Syd the cap she earned!
You guys are amazing! Been watching only for a few weeks but you have me hooked line sinker
Were on a highway to well! were on a highway to well!
I really expected a bigger reaction from them when it was revealed to be Loskialua and Oatian elves..in A&A they spent ages trying to find it
I love how Kate is having a good time, i was hoping she would say " I know Kung-Fu" like Neo for The Matrix
I hope she has a moment where the char starts feeling more like she belongs, maybe she is nearly a last man standing situation and she finishes things off
I did enjoy the impromptu Voight-Kampff test.
I am in desperate need of a release date for Get In The Trunk!!! I cannot wait

Skid, you had me with that opening note of Master of Puppets. I literally cheered at work. That turned a few heads.
It was Damage Inc. It has the sliding noise at the start. Master of Puppets doesn't.
Spectacular episode, as usual!
Just spent a month in Turkey, getting a Turkish bath was one of the best experiences I had there! Definitely recommend!

i feel like brother ramius shouls have 1-2 runic weapon spells until ppl get +1 striking runes, is a huge buff for ppl at their lvl

FYI had no problem with contacts in a 195 degree sauna. Also no burlap bags needed.

Can’t wait for episode 42! Episode 42? Helloooo? 😅😅😅❤
Can plead for a picture in picture of the Battlemap during combat? Please!?
Next on Cannon Fodder: actually Magic Measure is a real and very useful spell 😉
Kate's dedication to believing her bow specialist monk wouldn't have her bow out in an unknown location is something else.
I had no idea Troy was a crystal daddy. Was not expecting that.

For Desna's sake, keep Joe out of the room of failure; he'll never be able to leave.
I would like to try that Lemon Cleanse that Troy did. Any reference I can follow?
Common finnish Sauna temperature is 176 to 212 Fahrenheit and in most places you go in naked even with strangers
Living on the coast in texas makes the idea of sitting in a hot room so weird to me.

To be fair, Skid, how often does Troy roll nat 1s? I'd have forgotten too since i don't think he's rolled one ever in this campaign.
I reckon Sydney should grab Sure Strike. Its so much fun hitting with a spell strike, and sure strike helps fend off the misses.
It's tough to fit it into the action economy. It's also a lot of spellslots for a magus - Sure Strike staff is really where it's at.

good grief, Joe. your Medicine is +11. this is absurd lol
I've started saying "Jawn" in my dreams. I hate it!
Thompson's Gazelle, exactly. Right there with ya Skid. Any East African antelope, really, if ya look at it right.

Syd, is there extra damage for Lethal quality on katana or am I confusing that with Lucky’s weapon?
Both the katana and the longbow has the Deadly trait.
I think the eye twitch is caused by transitional stress. My eye twitched on and off for 6 months after I graduated from law school.
