This is the section between the canal and the river? Not many spots to walk over the canal. Any hints. And the path is high and difficult to walk to river
DUUUUUUDDDDDEEEE!!!! HOLY CRAP!!! Congratulations on nothing short of a historic outing on the Mighty Raritan!!! I am absolutely speechless, l grew up fishing the Raritan as l mentioned to you in a few other comment sections. Knowing how things work here one of each of those woulda been awesome , two unreal, three phenomenal, and so on.. so I don't even know what to say about what you did yesterday!! Just like you said in the beginning of the video the Raritan is a grab bag and that's one of the best things about fishing it you never know what's going to be on the other end of that line! Congrats again, just watching that brightened up my day and gave me some hope amidst this chaos in the world right now!!
Great stuff! I’ve caught big stripers out in the Ambrose, but my dream is to catch one (even a small one) on the Queen of Rivers, my home turf. For now I’ll live vicariously through you!
Didn't even throw the "raritan river special" lure :0 that's a legendary day, it's like all those dink stripers you caught one day some years ago grew up and returned back big and strong lol. The mix of walleye made it a double whammy. If only it can be spring forever , now where are those smallmouth ??? :D
Nice work out there on the Raritan brother! Have never caught a striper or walleye before. Last 3 days out one fish each, black crappie, rainbow trout, and 1st largemouth bass of 2020.
Wow, nice goin! If you are worried about all your baits tearing up on you, you should look into Zman baits. You could rig one of those up, and literally fish it all year, without it tearing up, or getting worn out, so long as you don't break off! I've done this with zman 4" finesse wormz. Just put it right back in the package, after fishing, and use it again. I have one of them in the package, t-rigged on a 1/0 worm hook, that I landed a nice 2 pound bass, in the spring last year.
@@FishingWithLardAlmighty I got a pack of these 3" Zman Minnowz boot tail style shad baits. They have this really good wobbling action that I haven't seen any other boot tail shad style bait have. I have only used them once in a short session, but landed a pickerel so far on them. I'd be surprised if those fish you were catching, wouldn't hit these things! They aren't ribbed like those keitechs are, but they have good movement and catch fish, with extreme durability. Also, they do make molds of those keitech style swimbaits, so you can pour them yourself. Just keep the torn up ones, melt them down, and pour them into new ones.
My man! Haha! Friggin WOW! You just had one of those days. Amazing catching!!! I saw you down there again today. I was gona walk down but had just taken my waders off! How’d you do???
Great video man. I live in Middlesex and know that spot pretty good. Never had a day like that though. Have only got some nice small mouth in that hole. What size/weight jig head where you using on the Keitechs?
Goto to 22:07 mark and you see a bridge and power line tower. I think its a rail bridge. I'm so glad to see the dam removals are working to bring the stripers up river.
all of stocked trout water is open in nj, there was an announcement April 1st from f&w council that opened it to catch and release for trout, open. Then once Opening day, you can keep trout.
I was using 4" swimmers on a 1/16 oz head with a 2/0 hook. I prefer using the lightest heads i can get away with to allow for a natural drifting presentation.
Well...after our phone call, I had to stay up for your video. I was not disappointed---what a great fishing day. Love you, Dad.

Glad the video gave you some joy. Hang in there, this strange stuff going on won't last forever.
I miss fishing the Raritan growing up in Manville. Fished all over that river .
You said it, legendary. Very happy for you.. now you know I had made plans long ago to go there today.😉🍻
Of course, of course.
That area has a nice deep stretch. Good catching...
Thank you!

Congrats on such an amazing day, hopefully more big ones to come!
Hopefully one or two more.
For a second I thought that walleye was a sea robin! Great day!
The way the day went, catching a sea robin out of the river might not have surprised me.
The fish gods definitely rewarded you for every skunk in the past 👍🏻
Always have faith in the Fish Gods, for they will provide.
Love the videos. So glad you had an epic day.
Thanks a lot!
Nice catches 👍👍👍 heck of a day
Thanks, it was an amazing day!
Absolutely a Great day ! This has to be one of your best fishing trips..... at least for now. 😊
This one's definitely up there. Now to try for a better one!
Some great catches. Great content enjoyed watching
Thank you very much!

Water temps appear to be staying above 50 now, so the smallies should start up very soon!

Keep plugging away, things are just starting to get good!
@@FishingWithLardAlmighty today was good , 2 rainbow trout in the Musconetcong River, which I think you've fished before.

Those Keitechs are just so good, though. I don't know if anything works better.

New vid on the way to answer your question.
nice to see walleyes making a comeback
Walleye fishing in the Raritan might be better now than it ever has been.

Great catch Lard ! Was that the Raritan that stretch that runs through Manville?
Lard you were definitely in the zone. You should have headed straight to AC, you would have killed it too!
If my luck translated to money, I promise you I could have stopped working years ago!
Period. The End. "22.5 inches Good Lard!"
Haven't had a big fish day like that in a very long time.
Is that part of the river still accessible or no
As of this moment the park through which you access that stretch is closed.
Awesome video! What area of the Raritan is this?
I'm over in Somerset county
Hey lard is the whole section by duke farms off limits for fishing? I’ve tried calling them and never get a straight answer
I think its south of Dukes. Note the rail bridge

What size and weight jigs were you using? 1/4 oz jig and a 3/0 hook with a 3 in. swimmer? I’m not used to fishing for anything but rainbows!

Fishing With LardAlmighty thanks! Congrats on the great day out there!
