    Thanks! I just rebuilt mine (not quite to your level of detail). Your video showed me where to put the rivets :)

    Looks great. I need to fix major damage on mine. When I got the truck, the outer heater box was broken in two. It separated in that narrow neck area between the blower part and heater core part. TWO QUESTIONS: 1) is the flange part that bolts to the firewall perfectly flat? If so I can just screw the two halves to plywood while I make the repair. And 2) Would you just use a regular boat fiberglass repair kit to fix it. I just need a functional fix. It's for a cruiser and not a show car. Thanks!

      It won't be perfectly flat. But you should still be able to make the repair. I use fiberglass cloth amd mat along with resin that can be bought at home depot or the auto parts store

    Where do you get the 2 inside panels for the 68 Chevy truck heater box?

    What is the best way to remove the rod holding the baffle plate? I have a nice box, but I can’t remove the baffle I want from a donor box.... any hints?

    • @ClassicRideSociety
      @ClassicRideSociety  4 года назад

      If its a donor box that's in bad shape I just break it apart. On a good box, you have to tap at the rod lightly witha hammer a something thin enough that it won't get stuck when tapping out the rod. Be careful because you can break the box at the other end

    Can I replace a a/c heater box with a non a/c? Or will I have to change everything under the dash as well?

    • @ClassicRideSociety
      @ClassicRideSociety  4 года назад

      Other than one duct, everything is different under the dash. Best bet is to find a donor non ac truck to get all the parts

    What did you use to extend the core brackets?

    • @ClassicRideSociety
      @ClassicRideSociety  4 года назад

      I extend them by cutting and welding . I made a video on explaining it. ruclips.net/video/XbRRvkQUCGk/видео.html

    How much do you charge to rebuild one? Summer is probably a good time to send it off, I've bypassed it due to the how weather. I could probably order and replace parts from LMC, but it's better to hand off to someone that's done it a time or two. I'm looking for function more than looks, it's not a show truck

    Is there anywhere that offers replacement parts for these boxes?

    • @ClassicRideSociety

      The box is reproduced in plastic I believe. You can buy the blower motor and wheel, the heater core and a gasket set. I believe that's about it

      Jason Dominguez . You can just do a Google search for Factory Auto Air. Should be the first result that comes up

    Lot of talk. Is definitely not a how to restoration video. Sure is proud of the heater box patch. Why not show how you did it!!!!!

      I really liked your comment. But can you tell me where it says this is a how to video? I'm sure you would like for me to make a step by step how to video on these AC/ heating parts. You're not alone. Ive been asked before and may do it in the future but until then, these videos were made to showcase my work. And yes im pretty proud of all these restorations that I've done. Some have gone on nut and bolt completely restored showcars and trucks. People see my work and they contact me for my services. And trust me, even though you dont see any comments on here, I'm constantly contacted through phone, email and Facebook. So if you're looking for how to step by step instructions on restoring these, may I suggest yhe 67-72 c10 forum. I'm sure you'll find plenty of guys on there that can help you out.
