Sorry but BP doesn't even come close. Bts are living legends and not just in Kpop but worldwide. They are not just performers. They are real artists. We have all the facts, numbers, awards, songs, sold out concerts, charity, content outside music, talents and people to prove it. I'm not even exaggerating it. They are the best at everything that they do. Bts write, produce, dance, rap, sing, act and even direct their own music videos. Their artistry as individuals and as a group are on another level. More importantly, they saved and changed millions of lives around the world. No other groups can replicate their success, artisty and sincerity. I recommend you watch Bts introduction by Taylor, From nobody to legends, MAMA 2019 live performances, Bts vs Attendance Award shows and Bts vs the radio.

Suga, one of the rappers of BTS once said “I’m a little careful to talk about K-pop as a genre because I don’t want to be defining Kpop as a genre, I’m a little bit wary of that but I think rather than approach Kpop as a genre, a better approach would be ‘integrated content.'”
With all the respect, Blackpink doesn't even come close to these guys. They don't even write or produce their songs. Putting them on par with BTS, humiliates the guys as people of art. The more you know BTS, the more you'll understand why they're on a different level one day. BTS debuted as a hip-hop group. Hip-hop is their root and 2 of the rappers were underground rappers and another one was an underground street dancer before they joined BTS. BTS knows hip-hop and they are the students of the game. But they cover almost all genres of music. Ballad, pop, hip-hop, latin pop, jazz, RnB, edm, rock etc. And please watch DKDKTV Explained UGH to understand and appreciate more of the wordplay and context of this song.
To answer your question, the second dude is the leader, his name is RM. A leader in K-pop in general is not that type of leader such as in western who will get the spotlight etc. The leader here means the one who communicates with the company, and solves any conflict among the members, has a huge responsibility. Basically the alpha of the pack. BTS has 7 members, 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. We call the rappers as the rapline and the singers as the vocal line. And we have another line which is the dance line.
11:47 it's funny how you mention Migos because one of the BTS reactors, named Jared and Jordan reacted to BTS's rapline song called Ddaeng and they also mentioned Migos when listening to that song.
Lastly, thank you for being open-minded and giving BTS a chance which many seem can't even do that just because they don't rap in English and the expectation of a bubly poppy songs.

    Guys, guys
Kpop is not a genre, it's an industry.
The idea of kpop as a genre does not exist in South Korea. Kpop is an industry that produces boy group and girl groups.
BTS came from outside the main kpop industry that dominated South Korea. They came from a much smaller indie label. And unlike groups belonging to bigger companies like blackpink that just debut people who can sing and dance....
BTS started out as proper musicians writing their own music. Coming from a smaller label meant so much more freedom of artistry.
And so bts doesn't belong to the kpop label, both as an industry or a genre as it is considered in the west.
They are much bigger than that, they sell millions of albums.

  • @n9_sn92
    @n9_sn92 Год назад +98

Blackpink is just a fun group to listen n watch. But they are not type of group you would think about artistry. They never really change since their debut 2016. N they are from big company so you can notice since their first music video are all high budget. Their company have build this luxurious image around them n nowadays, they active more as fashion influencers rather than musician. They went more fashion events than spending time to perform. Thats why people who love artistry cant really take seriously about bp as musicians. They talented but their potential being wasted by spending time more as fashion influencers.
Thats why bts fans aka army dont like people compare BTS with bp. Yes, both are popular but the way they rise completely in different way n background. BTS are from small company mean they have alot things need to do to rise to stand out in world of kpop. They co-write n produce own music. Freaking talented performers too. However recently, during their 9th year anniversary, bts announced that they going take a break from releasing group music n touring to focus more on their solo works. They said its because they already losing idea about whar to write about group music so they want to get inspiration from their own solo music first before back for group music. However, they do already going to perform in single concert this october in korea. They still doing other things as a group. Its just no group album n tour at the moment. They still cheer with each other n meet at their company building. Hope you check out more BTS songs. I think you gonna really like n respect them. I suggest for outro tear next.

BTS are bigger than Blackpink and always was. BTS are real artists who have deep passion for music, they all do music, produce and write. And more of all rappers. Rappers take big part in songs writing and producing, they r real rappers who write their rap unlike Blackpink who r more performers, who do not write or produce their music, they have the person for it. Sometimes they can not even explain their music or answer questions about it on interviews. Their company spends DOLLARS for their promotions, like paid media and collaborations with streaming platforms, and rumor has it, the views and streams are also partially bought. So, don't get fooled by numbers. They also lip-sync a lot and and not that good of performers. They barely put music, and strategically starve their fans to pull off big numbers. BP is a marketing product. So I think it is unfair to compare them. They are totally different groups.
BTS known for great life performances where they give 200% even now when they r superstars. They put music out constantly as group and individual artists. And it is good music. Their vocals live are great. And they do not play dirty, they have been in spotlight since debate and while there was a lot of falls accusation about them, there was never a prove of group or their label doing anything shady. They r real artists with organic success and following
These are just facts. no disrespect to BP or their fans. you can not put artists who make their music and do it well next to performers who have song handed to them each time it is time to record. It's cool. but don't expect the same respect. I think Nicki Minaj said it

BTS is arguably the most multi-genre group going which is part of their appeal. People who never liked rap suddenly find themselves liking rap because they are saying things not involving catching booty, getting high, criminality or bragging on the accoutrements of wealth. By the same token, hip hop fans often wind up being taken that a group with hip hop bona fides can create top tier music across quite a few genres. Much of it is quite hard with deep messaging while they also will put out some lighter Pop, R & B, EDM, or ballad tracks as part of the blended experience.

BTS is a master of genre's they can do everything from Hip Hop through to pop, you were given a great recommendation. And if you ask or react further, based on what your looking for BTS fandom army will usually direct you to more of what your after. There is usually a story or history behind the lyrics they write and produce. But will give you the heads up there is 3 levels of rap within BTS, you have group rap, like Mic Drop, you have the rap line which is what you were just listening to and like the cypher series part 1, part 2, part 3 & part 4 etc. You also have their solo rap songs, which for RM (leader) would be joke, Suga - Daechwita, Jhope - Arson, more. The songs have a common element it is directed towards the haters or critics of BTS, which has been alot, and the graphic nature of the lyrics is tame - group songs, leading to more graphic on rap line and say what they want to say on solo tracks....

For RM I would recommend Persona better or in addition. It talks a lot about his thoughts on himself while Joke is a joke on rappers and doesn't have much meaning behind it. While flow and wordplay is very good in Joke, don't try to interpret the lyrics, it is a words play to mess with rappers who was looking down on RM when he started off with idol group (it is basically performance group) instead of stay underground. Blackpink isn't as half as big as BTS is, blackpink is pretty big in youtube and has an active big fandom but it's incomparable to bts's impact and success. BTS has like over 30 BILLION streams, while BP has around 7 BILLION streams, so this is the proportional difference in terms of success of both groups. BTS sell out 90k stadium, while BP sell out 15k to 20k arenas. So both groups are successful but one is more of a cultural icon/international superstars who opened the way for kpop to even be a global thing, while the other is just a successful girlgroup who has influence as individual fashion models, they shine a lot more in terms of fashion brand deals than musical success and recognition since they don't have much music and don't really make music at all unlike BTS. BTS has more songs in one album, than all BP songs. BTS is just 3 years older than BP as a group (BTS is 2013 and BP 2016) but they have a decades worth of bigger and more complete albums and discography.

BTS can sell out ANY STADIUM around the world in less than a day. They sold out The Wembley Stadium in 90 minutes and had to add one more show due to high demand in less than 2 hours that to sold out. While the other group you mention only can sell out 15k to 20k arena but that too take weeks. For all I know their upcoming tour in US haven't sold out yet event though the tickets were on sale a couple of weeks ago.

-Guys if you want to know the meaning of this track, I suggest "BTS - UGH! Explained By A Korean" by the channel "DKDKTV". I appreciate you checking them out and it's great that you liked the track, but the meaning of the song is so deep. It will make the song even more harder when you know the meaning behind it. They were spitting bars for sure and I think it will be interesting for you to check out a video of a fellow Korean individual explaining their lyrics bar by bar, so please do check out the explanation video. It's soooo deep. Most of their songs are very deep and meaningful that even translations don't do justice to their lyrics. They are one of the few groups who tackle very heavy and serious topics in their songs that most artists(especially mainstream artists) shy away from. A lot of their songs that just sound like fun songs/songs for vibes, are actually often their deepest songs in terms of lyricism.
-BTS do all genres, so not all their tacks are rap-based, but they handful amount of hip-hop/rap songs. They have 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. This track was featuring the rappers only, but sometimes they have songs that are predominantly rap/trap/hip-hop featuring all group members including vocalists, where the vocalists will sing the chorus of the song.
-"This Is BTS: An Introduction To BTS" by the channel "xCeleste" is a great introduction video to the group. It will even explain the meaning behind the name "BTS" and the reason behind their success.
-BTS are the biggest music group in the whole world(not just in k-pop), Black-Pink don't even come close. I am fan of both groups by the way. They(BTS) are the 4th most awarded artist in the whole world(4th to Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Whitney Houston).Six of their music videos have over a Billion views each. They currently dethroned Justin Bieber as the act with the most youtube views of all time. 100 of their songs have 100 million streams on Spotify each. A member's solo song is the most streamed song of all time on Soundcloud, with 300 Million streams. Don't even get me started on their album sales. 6 of their albums have been number 1 on the billboard hot 100, breaking The Beatles' record. They were nominated for a Grammy twice. They recently sold out 105K concert tickets in 35 minutes for their Busan concert to be held in October of this year. A member's livestream a week ago where he was gaming live for 2hours has garnered more than 8 Million views in real time. This is just a few of their accolades. If this doesn't scream "Biggest group of all time", I don't know what does.

just to add a few comments for your information:
    1. bts started as a hip hop group and two of these rappers were underground rappers since like 2006-2007. the third rapper was not an underground rapper but he's been rapping for over 10 years. so yeah, they're all proper rappers and that's why they have a very hip hop sound.
    2. all the members of bts are writers and producers. in fact, you'll never catch the rappers of bts rapping something they DIDN'T write, maybe except for their English songs (dynamite, butter, ptd). the topics they write about are usually quite deep and common topics they discuss are criticizing society, systemic issues in society, mental health issues, self-love, various psychological concepts and other topics. they also write diss tracks every now and then. they also have a TON of songs over their decade long career and they continue to release free music on SoundCloud every now and then. the leader of bts (RM) has 200 song credits as of recently and the other two rappers each have between 100-200 song credits as writers and composers. RM has written for other groups. suga of bts also has written and produced for many other artists.
    3. bts started from the bottom of the Korean music industry. korea hated them and in a way, still do. in the kpop industry there are major music labels that run the entire scene. if you're not from one of these major labels, it's not easy to succeed. these labels hold a lot of power over who gets to go on tv and who doesn't. bts used to have a real problem getting cut from music shows because they had no influence. bts' label started off with financial struggle and it was through the help of their hard work, artistry and the internet that they managed to miraculously rise to the top. you mentioned blackpink, so i feel the need to mention here that blackpink does happen to be from one of these major labels, and therefore, they were successful since day one. this DOESN'T mean they didn't work hard. it just means hard work guaranteed success for them, whereas bts had obstacle after obstacle despite working so hard.
    3. i am both a fan of blackpink and bts but from an unbiased pov blackpink's artistry really doesn't come close to that of bts. in fact, almost no kpop groups come close to bts' artistry. blackpink mostly doesn't write their songs (some members might have

Before debuting, the company that formed BTS was actually aiming to form a hip hop group, reason why the first member to join was RM, who to this day is still the leader of BTS. He'll most probably downplay himself saying that he's the leader because he's the first member to join the group and the spokesperson. But think about the responsibility of representing a whole group of people, fighting for yourself and everybody else though the struggles of being a band from a smaller company in a very competitive industry, and later on the struggles of being such a huge phenomenon in the whole world. When it comes to their music and art however, they all have their individual "roles" to fit (that will still diminish the importance of every single member in my opinion), to make sure they spread the message they want to spread, to reanact it artistically in original and interesting ways and to somehow still make it personal and genuine. So they started of as a hip hop group, influenced by the direction the company, possibly RM and other members wanted to take. But ever the overachievers, they discovered soon, the importance of diversifying their genres landscape, to be sure every member has their voices heard outside of the hip-hop sphere, and to deliver their messages in a way the would fit with the themes of their songs. They even have solo projects outside of BTS and solo or subunit songs (like this one you've listened to which is a songs with only the rappers of the group: RM, Suga and J-Hope) on their group's albums to make sure everybody has space to tell their own stories. They are performers (they rap, sing, dance, act, entertain, etc.), but given the chance by their label they are also songwriters and producers, and they are ambassadors for the youth (see their UNICEF campaign) that being one of the themes that inspired them throughout their career, wanting to be a larger voice for unrepresented youth.
So you'll notice soon that they have rap songs and more hip hop focused albums, but their discography is huge and varies from pop to ballad, to RnB, to jazz influenced hip-hop, to neosoul, to EDM and a tiny bit of dubstep to having traditional sounds and instruments on their tracks and many more. K-pop is not for purists of certain genres, but if you are open minded to different cultures and to crossover genres then you'll definitely enjoy the ride. For me, it is particularly fun falling in the BTS' rabbit hole.

BTS (3 rappers and 4 vocalists) stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean which translates to bulletproof boy scouts in English. BTS roots are hip hop and it's a shame so many people refuse to give them a chance because they have preconceived notions of what kpop or even a boy band sounds like. BTS do all genres with over 300 songs and all 3 rappers in BTS have their own solo mixtapes and J-Hope just released his first solo album this past July and rocked Lollapalooza as a soloist. They also have solo songs and straight rap songs on BTS albums. All 7 members of BTS are currently working on their solo albums and they've been a group for over 9 years now. This is how Suga of BTS responded when asked he considered kpop a genre "Kpop includes not just the music, but the clothes, the makeup, the choreography…all these elements I think sort of amalgamate together in a visual and auditory content package, that I think sets it apart from other music or maybe other genres so again, as I said, rather than approach Kpop as it’s own genre I think approaching it as this integration of different content would be better." Can't wait to see more reactions to BTS in the future. You know a group I would compare BTS to is TLC. A group that combines vocal and rap with socially conscious messages.

RM (BTS's leader) and Suga are 2 of 3 official rappers in the group. They are also 2 of the youngest and most decorated songwriters in Korea. Their music and art are inspired by classic art, literature, Asian and Western Philosophy, and Psychology, among many others. They are always involved in their songwriting and production, and they have deep ownership of everything they put out. They came from a small entertainment company in Korea which made them discriminated against especially by broadcast and media outlets. Their name literally means "bulletproof boy scouts" because they started their group with a mission to advocate for young people through their music and everything else they do. They are well respected by many other artists all over the world. Their music is being studied now in universities. Their story is cited as a business case for effective leadership in the entertainment industry and elsewhere. Their work and many things related to them significantly contribute to their country's economy, more than Korean Air. They hold multiple records for being the only South Korean or even Asian artists to accomplish those. They have hundreds of awards from all over the world and continue to break the glass ceiling set upon artists who don't come from the US or the rest of the Western countries. They have been invited to the UN several times and are the only artists to have been invited to perform within its halls. They are the youngest artists to have been awarded their country's prestigious cultural merit. And they have built, from the ground with no major publicity, just pure and kind authenticity, probably one of the most if not the most powerful fandom in the world. These are just a few of what they have accomplished for themselves over these years when they were constantly and still continue to be put down by others who can't accept that people like them can be successful in life. To have a fair understanding of who they would require maybe at least a year of being immersed in what we call our BTS rabbit hole. Their work is extensive, they genuinely are their own genre, and who they are as people are even more fascinating and phenomenal.
I'm not hating on other groups. I would love for all of the artists to make a good living and have fulfilling careers. But you can't say even half of what BTS has accomplished is true for other groups from anywhere in the world. So I really can't help but scratch my head when others say that so and so are THE BIGGEST group out there today. Like...how?🙃✌
PS. Take note of songs that our fellow lovely ARMYs suggest here. They would be happy to guide you through this journey of knowing our dear BTS, if that is what you'd like to do. Thanks for the awesome reaction and feedback to this song! 😊💜

BTS has 7 members. 3 rappers and 4 vocalist. They have a huge disagraphy with everything from rap, hip-hop, r&b, pop, ballads they do it all. They debut in 2013 have been around a decade at this point. I would recommend introduction to BTS by Taylor which is the most up to date one as of this year to get to know there background. They are currently doing solo activities. They will have a free concert in korea broadcast world wide on Oct 15th. They are Ambassadors for the 2030 bid for the world expo for thier country.

~ BTS has won the MOST DAESANGS (Grand prizes in Seoul/Asian Awards). I believe blackpink has never won any.
~ BTS is also the most viewed act/artist on youtube.
~ There are I believe only 20-21 songs that reach 100 Itunes #1 in History, and all of them are BTS group& individual songs with 1 Adele song.
~ BTS also broke historical records by Michael Jackson and The Beatles and many more.
They are equally talented as a group and solo artists. They achieve also many things individually in every platforms.
You can find almost all genre in BTS Discography.

So definitely not Backstreet Boys. 😆 Also, they do EVERYTHING from neosoul to battle style rap and sing about social justice, mental health problems, self-love, psychology, greek mythology, astronomy, classical litterature, etc. Some of their work is so intricate that it requires explanation videos. They're about the artistry of music above keeping to a specific genre. They also have their hands in both politics and philanthropy besides crushing it on stage. These guys ROCK!! 😎👍

My personal favorite is Suga (BTS stage name) aka Agust D (alias for when he does solo stuff outside of BTS) aka Min Yoongi (his real name), genius rapper and producer! Suga is the one that made me like rap. I was mindblown when I heard his song 'Daechwita'. Still my favorite out of all the members' solo songs!

BTS has 33+ Guinness world records, over 700 awards (the 4th most of any artist ever), hold the #1 and 2 spots on youtube for most watched MVs in 24 hours and fastest to 10 and 100M. They have spoken at the UN 3 times and were the best selling artist world wide the last 2 years in a row (the only artist ever to do that). They also have the talent to back all of that up. On top of all of that, they write and produce their own music, and it’s actually meaningful and deep!
No shade to anyone else; sometimes you just want to listen to fun music and it doesn’t matter if the person performing it actually had a hand in writing it or if they’re saying anything of merit. But there’s a difference between an artist (BTS) and someone who’s just a performer. BTS is the biggest artist in the world, and the biggest group of all time, for a lot of reasons.

I'm glad you guys like your first taste of BTS! This is the rap line - so it's the three rappers from BTS. You'll usually hear us refer to them as 7 because they will always be seven members. But they like to mix and match things up by units (rap line songs or vocal line songs) or they do solo pieces or maybe a song with just two or three members. There's a lot of freedom in the way that they create.
I hope you guys keep going with more songs from BTS. Some great ones to start off with are Mic Drop, Black Swan, On Kinetic Manifesto Film, and Fake Love for group songs. Some great rap line songs or solos are Daechwita, Ddaeng, and all four Cyphers.
If you do Daechwita or Ddaeng, make sure to do the explanation video by DKDKTV as well so that you catch all the cultural references / see why they're lyrical genuises. Baepsae is also a great group song with an explation video too.

BTS is 7-membered group from South Korea with members aging from 24 to 29 years old. They have been around for almost 9 years now (which makes them bp’s ‘sunbaenims’ or seniors in the industry) and they usually sing in Korean/Konglish and only have 3 songs fully in English in their whole discography of 200+ songs. They are one, if not, the most versatile artists I’ve ever heard (in my opinion). From hiphop to rnb to pop, name any genre, most likely, they have it. Since we started comparing here… BTS produce and write their own music, incorporate a storyline in their discography as well as different themes such as philosophy, psychology, politics, women empowerment, anti-bullying, mental health, and many more unlike most artists in the whole music industry who MAINLY focuses on love songs, break-up songs, money, sex, and such. This is why they have such an impact to the world and brought them to the UN (United Nations) 3 times and gave speeches as well. I can’t reiterate any more coz this might be an essay hehe. They mean a lot to me, coz they changed my life (mental health-wise).
+ I highly recommend reacting to their MV’s (music videos) and these videos if you want to get to know them more:
    - xCeleste’s “This Is BTS: Introduction to BTS” video 👉 ruclips.net/video/3cESARetI9U/видео.html (the shortest and contains general information about the group however it’s from 2020)
    - Taylor Nakamoto’s “An Introduction to the 7 members of BTS” 👉 ruclips.net/video/huV_yIdxZPY/видео.html (the best one so far, about the members, a bit lengthy but the most updated version)
    - Rice Squad’s “The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS” (2022 update) 👉 ruclips.net/video/0KonKFssKnM/видео.html (lengthy as well but talks about the background of the group like how they were formed)
+ Imma just flex my men right now and say some of their recent achievements that makes me so proud.
    - They are Grammy nominees for 2 times in a row (2021 and 2022) 🏆
    - They topped billboard hot 100 with 3 songs last 2020 and 2 songs in 2021 (all debuted at the top) 🔥
    - Their latest #1 on the billboard hot 100 were the songs “Butter” & “Permission to Dance”. Butter topped the charts for 10 weeks and stayed on the top 10 for 15 weeks 🧈
    - They have 5 #1 albums (Billboard) for 3 consecutive years. 💪
    - They are UNICEF Goodwill ambassadors and gave a speech in the United Nations General Assembly THRICE now and currently renewed their UNICEF project 🇺🇳
    - They are Korea’s pride to the point their president appointed them as Special Presidential Envoys for Future Generations and Culture and are considered as diplomats as well (they even have the exclusive diplomatic passports) 🇰🇷

If you would like to understand the song betwee (wordplay and Korean references) I HIGHLY recommend a Dkdktv explanation video.
Like others have said in the comments BTS are the biggest artists in the world. Everyone has either heard their name or have heard part of one of their song (even if they don’t realize it).
BTS at first was going to be a hip pop group but then the company decided to make it an idol group so they added singers. So basically BTS roots are hip pop but expand and do all sorts of genres and/or mix genres.
Also yes BP is big and I would probably agree the biggest female group.
I would like to bring you aware that YT itself makes the most money off of ads from music videos. So groups/artists/etc. that pay to have ads on the videos get more view counts. However BTS doesn’t pay for ads so YT loose money from BTS (also being the highest viewing artists, YT looses a lot) so YT literally takes away view counts (not just a little too but a lot) from BTS because they don’t profit very much from them. For example for their premier I literally was their and it said in chat that their was around 70million people their however later you see the number of people viewed be like 30 million. So YT was taking away tons of views. Don’t get me wrong I understand they have to take some away to makes sure it is real people watching but it wouldn’t be that much.

BTS are incredible I am so glad you are checking them out! I’ve followed you guys for a long time and I thought one day you might check ‘em out!
You will have fun with BTS. They are truly artists in the the most sincere sense of the term. They kinda don’t have a genre?? It’s hard to explain unless you go through their discography and see for yourself 😂 nobody believes ARMY until they listen to a fair amount of BTSs stuff.
They have 3 rappers & 4 vocalists and they have either a hand in or entirely write and produce their own music (something unusual in kpop at the time). It’s one of the things that made them stand out as they grew because their music grew with them organically as human beings. And whilst they have their mainstream pop hits (mostly over Covid time because they wanted to brighten things up for everyone who were feeling so sad) their discography is VAST and there is a lot of genuine hip hop because RM and Suga are absolute hip hop heads 💜 keep going I think you will really enjoy them!
I definitely recommend the ‘A guide to BTS members: the Bangtan 7’ by Taylor!! It’s the most up to date introduction to BTS and ARMY. It’s so well done and it will help you appreciate their journey over the past 10 years and their artistic integrity. ( ruclips.net/video/huV_yIdxZPY/видео.html )
Also you should Def watch the DKDKTV ‘UGH! Explained’ video! It explains the song lyrics for UGH! As there is a lot of Korean references we as non-Koreans wouldn’t otherwise understand and ref to things that that have happened in the past to inspire verses. It’s essentially a song about how true anger is an important part of our history and it’s spurred real change in the world but malicious anger is this thing pretending to be real anger when it’s just a tool to cause pain and they (bts) despise it and want things to be better.
Anyway! I can’t wait for you to continue! They are seriously awesome and I know you guys appreciate music genuinely from many genres so I think you’ll like them 🙂💜

When you react positively and genuinely to BTS members then BTS Armies, or fans, will support you. The BTS fandom is HUGE and we’re very protective of the members because they worked their butts off (as in dance practices every day for 12-16 hours a day), and encountered so many hardships along the way. The biggest reason that any of us love and support the members is that they’re genuine, funny, humble, kind, compassionate, and off the charts talented. Many of the members grew up poor and they have each pledged and remained humble to this day. We love watching reactors as they go through their BTS journey. I’ve only been an Army for 2 and a half years and their deep, meaningful lyrics have blown my mind.
I encourage you to watch An Introduction to BTS (updated) by Ida S, or videos by Xceleste who does various videos about the hardships they’ve encountered in the past 9 years, Introduction to BTS, and Introduction to BTS Army. If you want to get a scope and breadth of the fandom, then The Introduction to BTS Army is quite excellent. The introduction videos will give you a description of each member and their role(s) in the group, their songwriting credits (they write most of their own music), their individual talents (dancer, etc) and their interests. The videos really helped me learn the members faces and names. In the hardships video you learn where they started and how they lived and all the obstacles they overcame to get to where they are today. You also begin to understand why they’re so loved and how the fandom got enormous.
J-Hope, one of the 3 rappers just made history by being the first Artist from South Korea to headline an American music festival at Lollapalooza this past July. J-Hope is also known as Hobi so fans renamed the festival, Hobipalloza. It was the first time since the festival began 30 years ago that Sunday night (his performance) was sold out. There were over 100,000 fans who flew in from around the world to see him perform. I watched it live on Hulu and it was truly EPIC!!!
The first half of the concert was from his new album, Jack in the Box. The second half was from his first solo mixtape, Hope World, that dropped in 2018. He was spitting bars in grand style. I think you’ll enjoy it and any of the solo works from RM and Suga who goes by August D for his solo work.

I don't know if you noticed, but this is not the "full" BTS, this is only the rap line (which many will say the best rap line in kpop). there are 4 more vocalists. their music style has quite a lot of variety. BP and BTS are the biggest groups but they are VERY different in so many ways so there isn't much point in comparing them.
