Newmar now directs you to put slides out before extending jacks, watching the gaps around the full length slide for pinching. I guess best to follow procedure as specified in owners manual.

Follow your manufacturer's recommendations for leveling your rig---some say level first, then slide out but others will require that you put the slide out first and then level.
Newmar recommends that you check the "reveal" of full wall slides before you do anything---this is from a Newmar service bulletin:
"Motorhomes, as all vehicles, flex in travel. Flexing may be different due to terrain and the coach’s fulcrums (resting on tires or jacks). This is normally not an issue for coaches without a full wall slide-out. Although the jacks and the slide-out mechanism are both welded to the chassis frame, with a full wall slide-out, you have a large box (the slide), inside another large box (the coach) and they both flex, especially the coach. As the coach flexes, this movement is more noticeable in the outside reveal due to the wider slide-out.
Additional care should be taken once the coach is parked. Before operating the full wall slide-out, one should walk around the driver’s side and look at the “reveal” or “gap” of the two vertical wall trims around the full wall slide-out to make sure there is plenty of clearance so the trim will not rub when running the slide-out to the out position. If the gap looks good then the slide out can be operated. If the gap is tight in one or more places, try leveling the coach to see if that corrects it, then operate the slide out. If at any time there is cause for concern, do not operate the slide-out and call Newmar Customer Service.
PLEASE NOTE: Most often the gap will look best when sitting on the tires and not the jacks."

Thank you. This was our first summer with our motorhome and we have had some “leveling challenges.” We did feel a little tipsy walking from the back to the front a couple of times! Our front tires were even off the ground once, and we didn’t notice until after we had our slides out and power connected. We will not make that mistake again. You guys are the best!

I have HWH air leveling without jacks. One step push the auto level button and as long as slope is not terrible it levels perfectly. It is amazing the amount of out of level it can fix, then put slide out. It also monitors the level and adjusts itself if needed. I love this system, it is so simple.

I like that yours monitors and automatically readjusts for you. After a few days at the site we had to readjust our levelling after the rig settled.

I’m confused why you would choose to use blocks to level rather than jacks. With the Level Mate Pro you could manually level with the Level Mate Pro from your captains chair in probably 30 seconds. Maybe I missed something.

Read the manual that came with your coach about what to do first most of the Newmars with full wall slides say to first check the gap between the slide and coach on the long slide and if it looks pretty even then deploy the slide before leveling the coach. But everything else he said is right on and I'm guessing they don't have a long slide. Great video will look into getting the leveling unit I like that you can use your phone.

Very good video. I don’t have anything but the old style leveling system. Both front jacks come down together and the back ones left and right separately. And sometimes it’s a pain in the ass to get the 2002 motorhome level. I have a level app on my phone and lay it on the counter and listen for the beeps that tell me I’m level then I check it with a 2ft level to make sure. I always say there’s got to be a better way. Any suggestions?

Pads under the tires are ridiculous, too much hassle, waste of time IMO. I've NEVER needed them. Occasionally I'll use a block of wood under one of my hydraulic jacks, maybe 2. Plus, 99.8% of gasser motorhomes don't have the $20K liquid spring setup, so that step is not relevant to the masses.
