Interesting. Do you usually blow from a crimped tube like that? I’ve only seen it done from sections with pulled points. I can’t do it at all, so it’s good to see the various ways it can be done.

I'm working of a section of tubing that is straight-sealed to a blow tube. Is that what you mean by crimped? I normally work with points but I like to show this option to students so they can use a blow hose, which is easier for beginners

Yes, I could see that the end was sealed, but it looks like the point where your straight tube meets the expanded section is somewhat crimped. I’ve never seen a blow hose used in flameworking but it does look like it would be easier to manage than points. I’ll give it a try. Thanks!

Oh, I get it now. You have two different diameters of boro tubing that are joined. The larger one gets expanded into your cup shape, the smaller one is your blow tube. I thought you had a single tube and had expanded the end. I have a supply of 20 mm boro tubing; I’ll have to look through my supplies to see if I have smaller diameter boro tubing to use as a blow tube. Yes, your method looks more do-able. I’ve been struggling with pulling points.
