I think the misconception here as to why people are saying this crossover is overly hyped is because they're only observing the crossover itself and not the subsequent actions. Harden stared him down for a couple of seconds and still made the shot. He also started yelling at him on the defensive possession; all in all this isn't what you see often in present day NBA.

If they take that step back from him, and it's one of his most dangerous weapons, it limits him a bit.
