  • Good evening! Here now is the in-depth technical study study of Paganini Caprice No.3! This is the best caprice if one wishes to improve LH articulation and LH/RH coordination & synchronization.
I consider this "the hump" in the 24 Caprices if going in order because even those who may be able to conquer Caprice No.1 & No.2 will often get stumped here. It is "melodic and fluid" yet extremely demanding on articulation and strength. Additionally, it is less "rewarding" because it sounds less impressive while being more difficult. We are barely impressed if everything goes right...yet we are disturbed if even the slightest of things go wrong. There is absolutely no room for error in this Caprice, and it is "full exposure" of any/all weakness.
So with that - hope you all ENJOY!!!
    Musically yours always,

Great inspiring help here Susanne, thank you. I am an adult student in Ireland. I do finger exercises every day. Am heading into more demanding pieces so I will be using all your instruction angles as much as I can. I find your playing of Caprice No. 2 to be the absolutely captivating! It transports me elsewhere!
What a blessing RUclips can be. (I have 5 short fingers! Have just invested in a 7/8 size violin - big relief! It really helps me).
    Fond regards, Georgina. Ireland 🤗

How do one play the top 6 notes on the violin in the 4th octave during scales for example during the Opening of 5th paganini caprice if the fingerboard is 8 mm shorter to 262mm ?? I have treid now all variants of string both origional gut and wounded gut and modern strings and found that it's not possible to play it without touching the fingerboard. If any one can explain this as either paganini has a secret invisible fingerboard or a radio that plaid it for him. Advise??

Just browse around and see if there any other interesting violin teaching channel and found this, unfortunately this is too advance and difficult for me. Let's see if i can be half this good 5 years later :P By the way may i ask your opinion about the left hand thumb position ?? Is it necessary to make sure it stay more or less with the 1st finger in opposite direction ?? Thanks first
