Love, love, love vintage machines. The quality is impeccable and some over 100 years still working…..wow… with very little servicing and/or that you can service them yourself is great. Your vintage Kenmore is a gem with all the attachments, love that. Eagerly awaiting the demo, would love to hear her unique 😻purr.
Vintage machines are fantastic and so much fun to look at and listen to! I have a project planned in the next week or so--I just might sew it up on the Kenmore! Stay tuned. 😁💜
Kenmore machines are rock solid, heavy duty and I love them. I recently rebought my old one and am happy to have it and paid more than my original cost but well worth it! I had missed that baby!
This was so interesting. Your Kenwood is beautiful and you have the attachments beautifully stored. My parents gave me a 1954 Elna Supermatic when I finished school in Sweden in 1962 - I'm very old. The machine and the discs are similar to your Kenwood, but in boring black. I love my Elna, but button holes are a challenge, so I bought a Janome mid-price point machine about 4 years ago. I am pleased with it, but it is not a love relationship - perhaps that will come. Have a wonderful Christmas!🎅
That sounds like an incredible machine! I can imagine the challenge around the button holes. I am hopeful your Janome makes it easier. 💜It is definitely a project to try out sometime on my Kenmore. Thank you for your kind note and have a very merry Christmas, too! ✨
Hello, I've just discovered your chanel. It is so calming, love it. I purchased a Benina 335 about 2½ years ago, after it cost a fortune to have my wife's vintage Elna repaired, then the Janomie MC400 (about 30yrs) needed repair. I picked the basic Bernina with auto button holes because I have never needed all the fancy stitches. We did buy a Janomie embroidery machine when we retired nearly 8 yrs ago.
Thank you! And I love this history of your sewing machines and am glad you had such great use out of them. I love sewing machines and would have more if I could justify it! I am hopeful you are enjoying your Bernina-I had considered that model, too!
Hello again, I also have an old hand crank machine, sews beautiful and my aunt gave me her 1945 Singer 201K, works fantastically. We also have two overlockers and a Janomie embroidery machine.🙂
@@craftynurs3434 I feel the Bernina is much better quality, hence the cost. I like the invisible zipper foot & blind hemming foot better than any machine I have ever owned. The janome is basic and I have made wedding dresses, suits and quilts on it. I think it is helpful if you can get a demonstration and hands on trial to help with the decision.
Loved getting to see and learn more about your machines. I have a Bernina 530 and a Juki serger very similar to your serger. I really enjoy them both. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thank you for showing us your machines. I have a Bernette B79 which is made by Bernina. Bernettes are the lower priced line. Mine does both sewing and embroidery which is fun. For a serger I have the inexpensive Brother 1034 DX which gets the job done. Someday I want one with air threading! I also saved up a bit and got the Janome Cover Pro 3000 overstitch machine. I love it and it's good if you were sewing a fair amount of knits. I think these are probably my forever machines. Thanks for letting me share what we have in our sewing rooms 😄
Thanks so much for sharing your machines--I *love* Bernettes! I still love to browse machines and always admire the Bernette range, trying to think of a reason to buy one! 😁
Lovely machines, that Kenmore is so amazingly kept, with all those accessories! There’s such a beautiful wash of light over your space, would you please share information about the light you use on your table? Thanks for your calm, careful and thorough manner.
Thanks so much! This is the adjustable desk lamp I have. It’s held up pretty well in the last 6 years! amzn.to/3RME9xL The overall light in the videos though is a combination of regular overhead lighting in the room and a big photography light (or else the videos would be very dark! ✨)
love your sewing room❤ just wondering since you use your serger for dressmaking if it's on the heavy duty part of the pile 😅 i'm considering that model but dunno because of the things I sew... like from pants to shirts or hoodies

I hear you! I absolutely would have bought it again, too. 😁 Enjoy!
On Amazon there is a little mat with a fabric catch basket for about $14 I just got one cuz I’m a messy sewist 😊
Awesome tip, thank you! Going to look it up today!

@@davederrick9431 Incredible!! What gems!
Since you owned the janome and bernina. Which one do you like better as far as quality? I’m torn between the two brands.

I have the same serger. I bought a plastic container to catch fabric. Fits perfectly.
Such a great idea! Are you able to share what type of container you are using?
Looks like they sell for several model. Make sure pick the right one!

I have a B480 for the same reasons and i love it!
Same! Such a great machine, so glad to hear you love yours too!
great sewing vlog so glad i found you
Thank you so much and I am so glad you are here! ✨☺️
I love the plate for that Bernina! I feel like the sewing surface is so small on my Singer.
It is helpful! Especially on the wrists. You may be able to find an off-brand clear insert that fits your Singer. ✨

Great question! I am not sure if I would call it heavy duty but it is powerful. I have used it on denim and canvas without any issues.
