- For the past four years James Arthurs, co-founder of the Guitars for Good program, has been volunteering at The Hospital for SickKids. On October 21, Tetley Green Tea surprised James by bringing to life an idea that he and hospital administrators had for some time been hoping for.
Know of another inspiring renewal story? We're accepting nominations at Tetley.Canad...

HOW can you NOT admire this gentlemen ! Am sure he's got a busy life like any of us, and YET still finds the time and heart to care for someone else's children. That's god's work right there. Thank god, thank Mr.ARthur, thank you sick kids and doctors who are dedicated and passionate about others and for THOSE who disliked this video, Just be THANKFUL , YOU NEVER had the need for SICK KID's Hospital's staff or volunteer's help , because you obviously still have the privilage to be in 1 piece!!
Those kids are soo precious. I hope they will heal. Thank you James may God bless you
Couldn't fight the tears! If my two little boys turn out half as good as this young man, I will have done my job. Good for you James - your mom must be so proud of you, and you should be very proud of yourself!
This is a wonderful way of helping these sick kids focus on making something beautiful.
Anything that anyone does to make these children's life more comfortable at this point in their life should be commended. Good Job to everyone who was connected to the endeavor.
This is wonderful. What is so touching about this is that James only started with an idea and a caring heart. It has evolved into something so beautiful that has, and will continue to bring joy, hope and self confidence to these remarkable children. I think it should serve as a reminder that we all have the power to do something good for this world. It's often the small things that mean the most and help to make someone's life a little brighter. Go James!!!
I want to be as dedicated as him to help children in need. He is inspirational. Thank you for this video Tentley, be the change that you want to be...
I don't even know this man, but I'm so proud to know that there are people like this in our world. It's amazing his love for these kids and that he can share the music with them. I'm glad I watched this. The happiness on his face when the speakers and iPods were rolled in was great to see.
I volunteered at Sick Kids for 9 years. This brought back beautiful memories. This commercial brings out awareness of Jame's beautiful soul, Sick Kids and Tetley. Thank you Tetley and James.
My brother was at the hospital a lot, on and off, throughout his life, and music really does help. My stepdad used to come in with his guitar and play and it would completely change my brother's mood, it's very uplifting. Due to my experience I think this is a great cause.
Im crying. How sweet. This man seems to be an amazing person and its great he could be recognized and surprised in that way!
This is amazing. I love people like this. When I was seven I was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid leukemia. I still have it and I'm 12. And its hard but he is right music does alot more then medicine can.
The exact room it was filmed in is Marnies lounge. I have spent a lot of time there. And a lot of time when i couldnt spend time there was because I was too sick to leave my room. This is moving and inspirational. If you ever in the future donate to sickkids, it truly is not wasted. And anyone in the area or even at your own hometown, donate your time and company to patients. I can tell you myself it means the world. ♥ And there are so few resources for music therapy in the hospital.
this is very inspiring. I was a former patient at sickkids and i know its tough. Doing that for all those kids is great and I felt the same way, sometimes medicine isnt enough and I always found music to heal what medicine couldnt. people like james make this an world amazing place to live.
Wow! James, you are doing a really really really great thing. It's easy for a corporation to donate some things, but what you are doing on a personal level one-to-one with these kids is really amazing and I think it really contributes to their healing. Extraordinarily thoughtful, very appreciated, and some best highlights on our humanity.
What an amazing guy, if only we had more people like him in this world...
Take something that you're really good at and use that gift to reach out to others. It's such a simple idea, that can have a huge impact. Inspiring!
he seems so wonderful :) I admire people like him. makes me have hope in our generation.
People like this give me hope. So inspiring...
My day=Made.
this is an amazing initiative. so glad people like this exist.
why would you dislike this video this man seems amazing and extremely sympathetic and generous . :) thank you mr arthur
You are a truly inspiring young
man!Bless you and your musical prescriptions of love.
this video made me realise i take many things for granted. i couldnt imagine being in a hospital like that and not having the things i use everyday such as something so simple like my ipod and docking station. great cause! music does really soothe the soul :)
Bravo. Keep up the good work, the world needs more people like you
I thought this was a wonderful and inspiring story. I could give James a big hug and I bet the kids could too! And I do love Tetley tea, and isn't it fantastic that a "big corporation" is doing wonderful things along with the rest of us?
guy has a heart of gold
My heart just melted
God Bless this man
a necessary prescription... wow... so beautiful!
Also when I was admitted there the past spring for three months Dallas Green came and performed. He donated eight guitars to the hospital. It really is great. (: It was on Entertainment tonight canada or whatever it is called.
a living angel this lad is keep up the good will.
People like him are so encouraging for everyone :)
amazing work that you do James!! My son goes to Sickkids and he would love this. keep it up!!
You're amazing and kind.
A lot of big corporations could stand to learn from this. Nice work, James and Tetley
good for you
i just sat at my chair, with the biggest smile on my face.
Wish they still did this stuff.
Congratulations James Arthurs & Tetley Canada. ♥
^_^ This guy has it right. Music is so powerful. The right kind of music can be so healing. I'm glad his project turned out so well.
Thanks for this

GOOOOSSEEBUMPS! :D
jimmy, this is awesome bro
this may be a sponsored trend, but goddamn is this touching.
This video makes me choked.. This is amazing.
Great video, great philosophy.
i want him
For those who think the person in this video is fake, here's an idea, the video was made to show us his story, and to inspire us to do great things, like playing guitar for sick kids... Small things like that make a HUGE difference to those kids, even just going in for a few mins every other day to say hi, would make them smile. So, for those that are focusing on the actor and not the kids... you need to figure out your priorities.
tl:dr - Stfu bout the actor; Care bout kids.
I'd be crying if I wasn't smiling so hard.
I did this for IGG pionts but its so inspiring
GO TETLEY
aww great job guys :) thanks tetley
how nice are we ;)
Oh!!!! Good job.......
keep doing what you're doing James :)
I wish I could be like you :) And I hope this vedio somehow reach Ellen, who is more supportive to these kind of casues.
Good Luck man, you mad my day!!!
@hoolahoopchad CAN'T... STOP... CLICKING... LIKE!!!
Well said, my friend.
Peace...
Awesome commercial. If more companies responded to childrens needs like Tetley, sickness would be easier to deal with.
aww!
WOW! if only more men were like him
Get him with "Playing for Change"!
I agree with mokshaa... The Tetley product itself had nothing to do with helping sick kids. It is definitely just a way to promote their name by helping the Sick Kids Foundation. HOWEVER, it is an inspiring story if you take away the Tetley name and just say that Company X donated iPod docs to the Guitars for Good campaign. I personally was touched by James who thought of this and who gives his time to these kids. Thanks James for your passion and care. We know those kids appreciate it.
Awesome
Way to go Tetley and James
good job
Have you tried their wildberry? Oh it goes purple like grape juice - and so yummy. I hope James's idea is just getting started. xoxo
will these be put in the MRI sections? I always get bored in them...?
lols.
how do I find out more about the guitars for good program??
I don't understand why people are so mad at Tetley. The way I see it, Tetley would have made a commercial for their product anyway so if they promote a charity at the same time there's really no harm. Tetley gets their commercial, sick kids get ipods and awareness is raised for a charity. This is a win-win-win situation in my opinion.
@Apoc897 I like you are taking whats good and somehow warping it into something bad, cant you just leave it alone and as is
@HarunDanyal That's when you change what you listen to.
@hoolahoopchad Music also, often opens wounds, and brings about emotions which influence one's behavior, leading them into acts which create new wounds.
why is lmfao "sexy and i know it" in the suggested videos for this
i was having one of those inspirational piano moments from the movies,
now...i just dont know.
i was in icu in sick kids for weeks and i wasnt allowed to use my ipod or my phone
This is so fucking sick.
wanted to cry a little bit :$
PEOPLE DISLIKED THIS? WTF!? How cruel can you be D:
Hey Telty Tea, Sick Kids help my mom and myself out a lot in my life. They safe my life they brought me to life I mean and I want to give back like you did. Or in a way you did. If only if there was some way to help. It will mean a lot to give back to Sick Kids. Because I've been trying to figure out a way to give back but its hard when your one person. If you or someone from Tetley Canada could help me I will be so happy.
hahaha 1:21 "remember tetley tea" "were good people for doing this" :p hhaa good job
Cool…But will it blend?
must.. fight.. the tears..
I hate how people purposely make a**hole comments on such a sweet video, just for a few thumbs up...seriously? =|
@Zadose18 What ever do you mean? Tetley tea is awesome! :O
gooood job jamess
Great idea. I'm just wondering what kind of music the kids'll listen to haha. The video had an acoustic guitar playing in the background, which makes it easier for people to romanticise the idea. But hey, if justin beiber and drake and whoever helps them out through tough times, that's alllll gooood.
mmm tetley ice tea
Tetley: Hey this kid is working his ass off all at his own expense and I think MAYYBE we can turn it so that WE make money on it... Yeah lets do this
