I love when a movie's comic adaption has deleted scenes in them. Sometimes, we don't even get them in a DVD set. I love the comic version of the 1990 TMNT movie, which kept Casey Jones's introduction watching news reports on television and throwing something at the television, as well as the intended post-script where Casey and April try and fail to sell the idea to a comic publisher. Then there was the Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey adaption, which while it was pretty cut down, still managed to have the part where the dudes face their fears that jumped out of Hell.
The fact that Jurassic Park got this interesting pulp fiction-esque comic story is such a wacky reality. It's absolutely cheesey as hell and I live for it. Would definitely love to see more of the comics covered!

This comic feels like Jurassic Park on acid . It also has more in common with Carnosaur than Jurassic , with being very bloody and having mostly on raptors .

Carnosaur was also based on a novel, but there's little to no similarities. At least the Jurassic Park film has the same basic premise as the novel.
I remember this comic! I had several of them as a kid! The T Rex fighting armored vehicles as the intro was awesome. I liked the first artstyle more before the smoother more cartoony second style.
You should continue since it's the 30th anniversary of Jurassic Park this year. Great vid man.
So... Back in my teens I pitched a Comic Book series & a Card Game to Topps. Got pretty far along and even got paid for it but the comics portion went belly up before anything saw the light if the day. Hell, in some of those issues letters pages you can find letters from Teenaged me in there. Gave me a good flash back, thanks for the vid MiB. The nostalgia blast to the past gave me a huge smile.

I like these comics more than most of the sequel films. I liked that they actually followed up the whole Biosyn Corporate War angle.

Something else that the comics would do before the Jurassic World trilogy?
In Return to Jurassic Park, there was a mad scientist later in the run who was creating genetic hybrids on company hours with stolen resources in a shed on Isla Nublar while the park was still running. His grand plan was to create a new master race of dinosaur creatures that would pledge their allegiance to him.
Ok, that last part definitely wasn’t in the JW trilogy, but, come on, it wouldn’t be any more silly than the locusts or the Nosferatu-saurus.
I sometimes come across these in the dollar bins at my local comic shops, always thought they were bizarre looking on the cover, now I know they are bizarre looking on the inside too, haha!
I've read the raptor trilogy and even own the first two issues but I've always been curious about Return to Jurassic Park. A second video would be awesome MIB, I love to watch you cover obscure stuff.
Fun fact: Not only did Tyrannosaus Rex and any stegosaurus not co-exist, but we live closer in time to T.Rex than T.Rex did to any stegosaurus.

That's so awesome that you covered these. I have the trade paperback of all the original JP movie comics in one book, and felt it was a fever dream that no one else had it. I even had a few of those raptor comics, and one of dilophosaurs attacking some biker gang, I think. I def need to see more, I never was able to get all the comics to see the whole story
They should've used the Topps Comics to make the film sequels. And not just tiny bits and pieces.

Cool video! Thank you! I bought this entire Topps JP series when it was ongoing -- because it had "Jurasssic Park" on it -- and I still have it, but I'm danged if I remembered ANY of the details and new characters you covered here, apart from maybe Evil Dian Fossey. What a weird, wild time the mid--to-late 1990s were!
I even sent in a comic book page I drew for their letters / fan art page, mocking the comic book trope of nameless goons throwing their guns at an enemy while retreating, and had a "Clever Girl" pick up the shotgun and learn how to use it, with an evil grin. Unfortunately, I sent it near the end of the run, so I didn't get to see the art published, but I got thanked by name in the last issue, along with a bunch of other fans.
9:10 would actually love to hear MIB's thoughts on Nope. I personally absolutely loved that movie reminded me a lot of Tremors, Jaws, and A Quiet Place. Even with it's clunkier moments the movie had me hooked both times I saw it in theaters. And the final sequences with Jean Jacket was just gorgeous.
At first, I was questioning why this was three miniseries, and not just a maxi-series, then I remembered-- It was 90s, and first issues SOLD!

It is incredible how the Jurassic Park comic is way ahead of its time, way before the sequels came. Seeing these highlights of the panels, just shows that how much the filmmakers took references from the comic.

I remember as a kid reading the Jurassic Park comics back then but couldn't remember what issue it was but seeing that scene at 10:01 it immediately came back to me it was that exact issue. Absolute slug shot to the chest of nostalgia there.
If there was a Jurassic film with only Raptors, I'd watch it. I should let you know that I'm literally *OBSESSED* with the Raptors. Seriously. And, my imagination about these animals would blow everything else away. I can imagine just about anything...from Raptors making friends with the cast to Raptors communicating with them with their thoughts...and everything in between. I'm an obsessed Raptor fanatic.

Never heard about this series. I had the original Topps adaptation and another with different drawing style (which I preferred over the tops design of all lizard green dinosaurs) which went on with its “Return to Jurassic Park” with some short stories. I can only remember one where there were some herbivore killings (can’t remember the species) and at the end it turned out it was one of the grass eaters that had its dna erroneously mixed with raptor dna, so it killed without eating anything. The story ended with it shot to the head from a chopper while trying to kill Grant.
God, it's depressing how prescient these comics were about the future of Jurassic Park.

I love it when comics make sequels to movies. My favorite instance of this has to be the continuation ALIENS, wherein Hicks an Newt live long enough for Newt to grow up and become a main character, The Xenomorphs completely take over Earth while a few super rich human survivors get by in flying cities, and Ripley becomes an even more legendary gun toting badass.
But on the subject of Jurassic Park comics, I would LOVE to learn more about them!

You should take a look at the comic that has a biker gang fighting a pack of Dilophosaurs, none of the characters from the movies show up, it's just some Dilophosaurus eggs are swept to Costa Rica by a storm and they hatch and reek havoc
The climax with the bikers luring the dinosaurs over the cliff by jumping over it with their motorcycles was JP’s equivalent of jumping the shark. 🤣

The last issues’ more cartoonish artstyle seems like how would a Jurassic Park animated series look like.
The planned JP cartoon would have fit right at home in these Topps comics. It was to be about Malcom and Co returning to Site B and used genetically hybridized dinosaurs to defend the island from poachers.
Yeah originally there was supposed to be a series of the 1st but it was canceled for coast or not having the film interests
The IGA Store near me growing up only carried Tops comics and Superman. I had all the Jurassic Park, TMNT and Sonic the Hedgehog books

Funny, one of my elementary school libraries had that one comic where Betty got shot, I don't remember which school had that comic. If I could I would go to each school and see if I can remember by walking in and out to jog my memory.

Did...did the Jurassic World writer just crib a bunch of his idea from some early nineties wacky comics..because there are way to many similarities here for it to be pure coincidence.
These felt like a fervor dream and yet I think I might vaguely recall some of this? It was a long time ago now but I was really into Jurassic Park and would have likely purchased anything with the name attached for at least a year or two following the movie.

I have every issue of all the Jp comics and even have a letter in one of them. I was in third grade.
So Jurassic Park started from a book which got adapted to a movie which then got adapted into a comic book
I love the Jurassic World trilogy, but these comics are so weird and fun, a nice what if. Return to JP is much better than this series, although the latter half of the series tells a completely different story, and is really sub par. Also, highly recommend the one shot issue “Jurassic Jam” . It’s a really fun prequel story ( that can actually still fit into canon, and each page is done by different artists! It’s super neat.
this feels like a fanfiction in my opinion like it felt like some fan if jurassic park loved the raptors so much he made a story that is just about the raptors hopefully you'll review return to jurassic park cause hopefully its better then this one
