  • Not all therapy interventions are created equally! There are great ways to explain what you did in therapy and there are phrases that are overused, unnecessary, or red flags for insurance audits.
    Dr. Maelisa McCaffrey of QA Prep walks you through the interventions that you don't need in your counseling notes and why those interventions are unnecessary. She'll also give you some better therapy interventions to use in your case notes.

    If everyone had a grandma and/or friends that provided unconditional positive regard and empathic listening, a lot less people would be in therapy.

    I'm glad I live in a country where insurance companies accessing notes is not the norm!

    Excellent content, I worked for a state contracted facility and the state note requirements were the same. I'm always trying to improve, mainly shorten, my notes which is why I joined your group. This is unsolicited feedback but said with care because your content is so awesome, if your interested in improving the delivery "um's" are pretty frequent (I do it too, it's so hard to stop!) Great job though, I so appreciate your knowledge and willingness to share and help.

    Notes can take 15-20 minutes each for me. It takes too much time!

      Yes, if you can get it down to 5-10 minutes that is much more manageable! Create a cheat sheet for yourself, create personalized checkboxes for your template, use bullet points... so many options to help save time while maintaining quality.

      I highly recommend checking out some of her trainings and materials. Prices are reasonable, and as you can see here, some things are great free information.

    So the entire Person centered approach is being dismissed as a grandmom approach? How about all the research on common factors?

    • @MaelisaMcCaffrey
      @MaelisaMcCaffrey  6 месяцев назад +2

      Oh it’s not being dismissed at all. But insurance does want to see that you are using a psychological approach and there’s some strategy to it to show that this is different from talking with a friend.
