This was the trademark of Martin O'Neil sides, very physical with psychopathic tendancies...they emboddied all that is septic football club...it has victimhood, thuggish, but somehow manages to escape the brunt of punishment from referees... I think Rangers showed great restraint in this match, when you consider how they couldve reacted.... we tended to play the ball on the deck and all they do is get that ball in the air, then its basically an onslaught of assaults whenever we challenged them for those high balls...our resilliance got us through and realising that if we stood up to them we could beat them...i believe THEY thought they just had to turn up and impress their "physicality" on us and they would win, thats part of the arrognace of O'Neil and the RoI team were no different...we deserved this and by the latter part of the 2nd half we were steam rolling them...WATP, oh yeah and the state of that pitch...
Larsson uses his elbow on a Rangers player and acc to Walker it's COMPLETELY ACCIDENTAL my fekking arse! This game was a stark reminder of what a route one team of thugs Celtic were under O'Neill. One or two skillful players like Moravcic and Larsen but the rest... Agathe had speed and plenty of energy but went along with the intimidation of the rest of them, getting them to lose the rag and over reacting when similar tackles were made. Rangers, once they decided to use the wings (and speed) tore them apart, and once they stopped reacting to the animals and giving the ref the easy option of booking them were always the better team. The Referee... Oh my f'ing God what a coward Clark was in this game! He may have improved as a ref after that but (as they say) the only way was up, after that display of cowardice. Skill won over thuggery so we have to be grateful for that. :o)
That 'tackle' on Ricksen was absolutely shocking, and to think the referee was quite prepared to ignore it... Coward.
