Voice of Baceprot -often abbreviated as VOB-are an Indonesian all-female rock trio formed in Garut, West Java in 2014. The group consists of Firda Marsya Kurnia, Widi Rahmawati, and Euis Siti Aisyah. They sing in English as well as Sundanese. The word baceprot means "noisy" in Sundanese.

Ever since we learned how to play musical instruments, we’ve been covering our favourite metal songs. Besides gaining attention from fans and the media worldwide, these covers have enabled us to develop to the point where we’re able write original songs. We decided to define this period as “The Other Side of Metalism”, which is the title that we chose for our live EP.
To mark the end of this phase in our journey, we released several cover versions of those songs every week in the month of July 2021 for the EP. And now, to conclude the period and round up our “The Other Side of Metalism” live EP, we’ve gone full circle by putting out the song that kicked off our career: our very own “School Revolution”, which was first released in 2018.
“School Revolution (Live)” is out now on all digital streaming platforms.

Hello again Dashy and Dad and thanks for more VOB! They were "noisy" kids in school, but their guidance counsellor, who was drawn to their courage to respect themselves and speak up for themselves, instead of trying to silence them and make them fit in, channelled their energy into the arts, first with the school's theater group, Legok Teater Baceprot (but that didn't work out for them, despite a performance of Cinderella with Marsya as the lead!) and then music. "Starting from its earlier days, VOB has actively participated in and been a strong supporter of literacy movement in our own village, because we truly believe that reading books are opening the windows to the world. This is also part of what we call 'the other side of metal-ism'." Video clips of their practice spaces all show bookshelves with many books. They feel that their school system should allow options for inspiration and dreams, not just the usual force-fed curriculum, and Marsya has said that she wants to open a special school one day for that ("to excite imaginative power and recognize the potential within ourselves").

I thought that this aspect of them would resonate, as the chords they strike are not just musical in nature! VOB might not have the flash and "dash" (sorry, couldn't resist) of mainstream bands, but they have an essence, a foundation of wonder, enthusiasm, and grace, that is captivating, the likes of which I have only seen once before in rock/metal...

Voice of Baceprot chose "School Revolution" as their milestone in navigating the world of music professionally.
This hip metal song has undergone a very significant process.
Their output sounds more mature.
The weakness of the school system and the injustice that sticks out, is the main theme of this song.
Voice of Baceprot does not give speeches in front of the school while protesting against policies that they consider inappropriate.

We consider that a person who is studying wants to maximize what should be our rights as students and maximize our lifeline through the knowledge we get at educational institutions, "explained the vocalist who idolizes Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine).
"We want to give a positive view to many music lovers, that the lifeline of every creature is different.
Some are destined to become doctors, teachers, even artists.
So, we want to be artists who can have a positive impact on people who previously had negative thoughts.
We want music to change for the better.
Through music, we want to be fully human, not discriminated against," she concluded.
