Why I love Mamamoo. They don't fit in these crazy"standards." They're unique, incredibly talented, very humble and not fake. To me they are way better looking than whatever "standards" SK has. On that note, SK should really stop with all this "standards" crap. I have heard many times people say that Tzuyu, Wheein and others have tanned skin. And I am really amazed cuz they have fairer skin than mine, and supposedly here in Latin America, people consider me a ghost, because my skin is "very fair". hahahahaha

This was really entertaining and it looks like you put a lot of work into it. One piece of feedback I would give is that "strict" beauty standards are strict. If we are comparing the "second" most pleasing features then it's not strict. Trainees can get rejected by some companies due to the strict beauty standards they have for idols, so while society might be more open to embracing features that are the second most pleasing, the gatekeepers to the industry still impose these in a strict manner.

6:39 Me too!! I thought Mamamoo were very tall, but when I see them next to other idols, I start to think otherwise. Like even the tallest, Moonbyul isn't even as tall as the other idols. They're so charismatic on stage but when they are next to other idols, they suddenly become little babies.

I think so. They often appear barefaced on YT and TV shows and it seems like nothing's changed since their debut days (except for Moonbyul's head shape ofc) BUT their make up artists been doing a great job in recent years.
It does look like hwasa had a bit of lip fillers from around late 2018 but there is nothing wrong with that and she's been over drawing her lips anyway so it's just a bit more convenient than with make up

Yes, before debuting she did have to control her body weight strictly. But about a week ago at a variety show she said she changed and now she doesn’t need to diet anymore. You can see all other members eating salads and other vegetables while moonbyul is eating pizza with the staff.

Like, sometimes I see Hwasa or someone similar dressing a certain way that's so appealing, and I wish I had the right body to be able to do the same. I mean, of course I can wear anything I please. But if I'm wearing something that I think or know doesn't look good... This was really entertaining and it looks like you put a lot of work into it. One piece of feedback I would give is that "strict" beauty standards are strict. If we are comparing the "second" most pleasing features then it's not strict. Trainees can get rejected by some companies due to the strict beauty standards they have for idols, so while society might be more open to embracing features that are the second most pleasing, the gatekeepers to the industry still impose these in a strict manner.

6:39 Me too!! I thought Mamamoo were very tall, but when I see them next to other idols, I start to think otherwise. Like even the tallest, Moonbyul isn't even as tall as the other idols. They're so charismatic on stage but when they are next to other idols, they suddenly become little babies.

I think so. They often appear barefaced on YT and TV shows and it seems like nothing's changed since their debut days (except for Moonbyul's head shape ofc) BUT their make up artists been doing a great job in recent years.
It does look like hwasa had a bit of lip fillers from around late 2018 but there is nothing wrong with that and she's been over drawing her lips anyway so it's just a bit more convenient than with make up

Where did you get that information from? She has been dieting every since pre-debut since she wasn't allowed to debut because her boss thought she was "too fat"(now she's with a different label and a different group). She often times eats less than 2000 kcal a day.
Yes, before debuting she did have to control her body weight strictly. But about a week ago at a variety show she said she changed and now she doesn’t need to diet anymore. You can see all other members eating salads and other vegetables while moonbyul is eating pizza with the staff.

What I wouldn't give to have a body like Hwasa! I'm okay with my body, it's just one of those things... Just being envious of what I don't have, you know? Like, sometimes I see Hwasa or someone similar dressing a certain way that's so appealing, and I wish I had the right body to be able to do the same. I mean, of course I can wear anything I please. But if I'm wearing something that I think or know doesn't look good... I'm just so uncomfortable and hyper aware of it, trying to be seen from the right angles and trying not to be seen from the wrong ones. If that makes sense. I dress more casually, and although I really appreciate fancy or performance-worthy styles and outfits...
