Michael Grant Keep in mind that he started doing so ever since claiming the Sayuri. Yusuke was still little by then, meaning that Madarame had a lot of time in his hands to do so. He just might be the longest active criminal of all villains in P5.
I thought about the same thing, especially with Kaneshiro (third guy). You see the safes and the bank, but when you look at how the people were atms, the bank and Madarame's gallery may as well have been graveyards of the lives they took in some measure. It also creeped me out in a good way that Madarame's gallery gave me something of a Silent Hill vibe; I seem to remember a few of the portraits of his pupils had a negative light tint to them, like the first Silent Hill cover. And then there's that section in the music where it's just the drums and buzz--that reminds me of something I'd hear in a Silent Hill song.
The answer: 14 years of pupils + His amount of pupils at the beginning of those 14 years + Probably some paintings that other artists left behind when they graduated. Now think about how the size of the art gallery. Now consider the amount of art you usually see in an art gallery Now remember how many there were in that one room Now keep in mind that Yusuke basically said he has a deadlock on the Jap-Art world Yeah...
@@VenomLeon Shido had been doing shit all of Akechi's life and Akechi's birth was an affair so it is likely he was doing shit before Akechi was born. Akechi is a year older than Yusuke
I don’t know why, but going through Yusuke’s confidant route and finding out that Madarame actually cared about him a little deep down was honestly heartbreaking.
Spoiler for LVL 10 Emperor confidant ... I don't think Madarame did care too much, given the motivation why he kept him around. Why did he call a "friend" instead of an ambulance if Yusuke had such a high fever? Probably because he feared repercussions. But that is of course pure my interpretation - I just got even more angry at that point and really wished Yusuke would have just sliced Madarame's throat in half when he had the chance. Yeah, I hate Madarame. The thought of how poor Yusuke had to endure this POS for around 13 years if my math is correct (Yusuke is 16, given that kids begin going to school at age 6, school year starts in April, and he is born in January) breaks my heart. Atlus did a really good job here for the player to be able to absolutely hate the villains.
Heres the thing to remember about people's shadows. It's the absolute worst aspects of people. Shadows essentially have no "good" in them. Madarame most likely did care for Yusuke however his twisted desires made that care disappear
Spoiler for Royal . . . . . . It's even more heartbreaking when you see that in the "bad" ending of Persona 5 Royal where everybody gets their dreams fufilled, while Ryuji gets to be put back on the track team, Morgana gets to stay as a human, Futaba's mother never died... all that's different about Yusuke's usual life is that Madarame is still there, presumably having never done the horrible things he did in reality. All Yusuke wants through the entire game is the Madarame he thought existed to be back.
So I work at a museum, and sometimes when it’s just me I like to bring the lights down to half and start playing this. Puts me right back in the game I swear. PERFECT mood setter. 😍
Morgana: "We can give our calling cards a lot more oomph if we have Yusuke on our team." Akira: "We have too many dudes" Yusuke: "Then would you prefer I dress as a woman?" 10/10
My personal interpretation of this palace theme's name is that it's through the perspective of Madarame. When he saw The Sayuri he didn't care for the emotional significance or meaning of the painting at all, only recognizing it as a potential source of wealth. Crazy how this song manages to be simultaneously calming and unsettling. When I first entered this palace and witnessed all of the portraits I was uneasy while the music maintained a soothing tone. It's really masterfully composed when I think about it, considering what Madarame was in the end. An unhinged man behind a warm "persona" (had to make a pun). Well enough rambling time to get back to studying lol

He is certainly one of the hottest :3 On a more serious note, yes, he is. The only thing I don't like about him is not even one of his traits but the fact that the rest of the group apart from Futaba and Haru give out some serious "well, meh, okay, we'll let you tag along" vibe. But that's probably just me :)
Vincent Myren This palace was so calming I didn't even want to fight the shadows. The outside of the palace looked amazing (I especially liked the detail of people waiting in line to get into the museum). The part where you could go inside the paintings which is what I also liked. And I especially liked the part where you had to pick which Sayuri painting you thought was real.
Eh once I realized that enemies cannot see through the lasers, just like how they cannot see Joker through waist-level/chest-level objects, I had no worries.
I really liked Madarame's palace, it was a beautiful, colorful and vibrant place, yet very mysterious. And the Phantom Thieves weren't famous at this point in the game, it felt more like being actual thieves who operate secretly. Good times.
As an artist & longtime art museum visitor, I loved this stage. This music is perfect for the palace! Great song- wish I could use it in Mementos. This is my official museum song for life now.
The most terrifying thing about this game is that it's actually a representation of real life, the only difference is that there are no Phantom Thieves here to change corrupt people. Worse yet some of these corrupt people are in fact either wealthy or in power meaning they can decide our pathetic puny lifes and even change them at any given moment. All of the palace rulers are inspired by real events in Japan. Kamoshida was inspired by a Judo national medalist that did similar vile things to his students. It doesn't help that in Japan there is a mentality that pain "builds character" so all the things you see about the students being hit is supposed to be real life hardening exercises. Same goes for the other palace rulers cases.
If only you really knew what is going on behind the scenes in our world, and the entire history of mankind, you will find out that the truth is much worse.
This track might just be my favorite in the entire game. It's hard to make a minute-and-a-half song sound good when looped for almost an entire dungeon, but Meguro-san did it multiple times across the persona series. A good JRPG as well as any game deserves a great soundtrack, and they really pulled out the stops for P5. This game will be remembered as a classic, and playing through Madarame's Palace was the first time I realized that.
same. i heard this music and knew at the least the first section of persona 5 was a 10/10. its prolly an 8/10 game for me but oh my godddd. this ost is top 3 all time
This song always reminds me of the first time I visited Sapporo, Japan. Listening to this while going to sleep in my dingy little hotel room that had the neon lights of Susukino softly bleeding in through the curtin with a gentle snowfall coming down outside. Damn, this song is going to a nostalgic one for me, hell, it already kind of is.
tbh we all aspire to have beloved memory like this to draw from. Best part is we are listening to the music while reading your lovely comment zeroxlulu. Personally, this is a song I would listen to as I'm wandering the streets of Tokyo at night during my first visit to Japan (however far away this may be from now). This song deff hits harder at night for me, or hell even awaiting the next day's sunrise
Madarame’s palace is up there as one of my favs. It’s the quintessential “gentleman-thief” heist! The artwork, the infrared lasers, the over the top, convoluted plan to swipe the goods without leaving a trace.... it gets you pumped to be a thief!
What I liked about Madarame’s Palace: +Yusuke +Stealing Treasure from a freakin art museum +Jack Frosts :) + Dem Culture Refrences What I didn’t like: - Shadow Madarame boss fight is BS. (The Painter’s Right Eye can go burn in Hell.)

palace music in general is extremely well crafted, the way you can listen to the music without even noticing that you are its something that you subconsciously vibe with it while playing i didnt even notice the different sounds but now listening i can remember so much all through just the music
if you bought it a little over a hour before making this then how did you listen to this? unless you had listened to it because it took me a minimum of 8 hours to complete the first dungeon
It doesn't include the soundtrack CD, just a soundtrack consisting of 18 songs, none of which are this one. So you are kinda right on your earlier comment.
I've been listening to these extended versions of the soundtrack for months now on RUclips:D I still haven't opened or played the game yet since college classes unfortunately take priority & I know if I started playing I wouldn't be able to stop!
This is one of my favorite themes in a video game ever. It matches the whole vibe of going into your second palace and the first one not being a fluke, but a real life experience of changing things up.
Still playing through this game, but so far this has been my favorite Palace theme, hands down. I looked forward to exploring this palace just to be able to hear the theme.
Listening to these old tracks of early dungeons makes me realise how much has happened since I started the game. P5 has fought its way to my heart as the best JRPG out there. Not an easy fight considering that I have played quiet some JRPGs since I was 12 and there are a lot of all time classics in my top 10 list. Good job to Atlus and the Persona Studio Team
Dark and foreboding synths, an overpowering deep drum beat blended with orientalist melodies creates a theme that I think not only captures the identity of the palace as well as Madarame himself, but also Yusuke’s growing pain as he learns more sinister secrets that his sensei has withheld from him.
u do know how much of the fandom is female right its the 30 yo pedos who ruin the reputasion the dating shit is like 5 mins of dialog and that all those incels care about they ruin the fandom
This palace was creepy. A whole line of people waiting to see Madarame’s “art” underneath a dark stormy sky, and you get inside the museum and it’s completely empty. No patrons, not even any shadows. Then when you revisit the palace, there’s shadows in the shape of guards everywhere. And all the art is just all of Madarame’s pupils from over the years. All of this while this music plays. So unnerving.
I haven’t beat the game yet (just finished Futaba’s Palace), but I’ve gotta say, Madarame is my favorite villain so far. His Palace is such a vibe. Who knew someone so evil could have such an aesthetic, chill cognition. I love art though, so maybe I’m biased.
I just heard this track for the first time in a long time. My comment is a little more personal and I doubt anyone cares but I wanted to share. Do you ever have a period in your life where you feel really contented and happy? It might only last a couple weeks or months if you’re lucky but you wake up most days in a good mood, your life is going well and the people in your life are also happy. I have periods like that and when I do I always remember the main game I was playing at that time with ten times for fondness. The last time I felt that kind of happiness was Spring 2017; happy in my job, a new gf, good friends. This track popping up for me was a nice little nostalgia booster in these dark times we’re living in now.
@Sofia-k7m2obasically It’s meant to refer to the paint “Sayuri” which is a self portrait of Yusuke’s mom and how Madarame not only let Yusuke’s mom died but basically vandalized her painting by covering up the baby Yusuke on it
What a calming theme. It somehow capsules the feeling of calm and feeling menacing as well with part of it. Feels chilling but enjoyable not gonna lie!
I kinda find Madarame’s Museum of Vanity chilling, the place is dark, the music makes me shiver, and area looks like it could be a great setting for a horror movie.
Let's see, Yusuke's arcana is Emperor, which when upright, means Authority, Establishment, structure, a father figure. What Madarame looked like to Yusuke. However, the Emperor Arcana when *reversed* signifies *Domination, excessive control, lack of discipline, and inflexibility.* Sound familiar?
Ah, the palace where I finally got my artist boi ... first thought when I first saw him in game: "You are SO GONNA be in my party for the rest of the game, you handsome dork with your sexy voice" And when awakening music started, I squealed like the fangirl I am. Damn, how I loved that palace. I really need to replay it, just to experience his awakening again, and to whoop that POS Madarame's ass again.
Madarame's palace was pretty good because of all the palaces, Madarame's felt like a literal heist, especially when it was time to actually take the treasure
I love how the music captures the aesthetic of an Artist and form it into some sort of music that shit requires dedication and that is what i call dedication
I started watching shirrako's persona 5 royal streams which is my first time watching the p5 game ever. And i am lovin it, i fell in love with this soundtrack man, its sooooo awesome and perfect for a slick, cunning thief. Something about this ost makes it just perfect for a phantom thief ost while sneakin around madarame's palace
I love listening to this song so much that I just like to sit down and listen to it for long periods of time when I'm playing, like it put me in a trance or something. It's a huge reason why I haven't moved on in it yet, even though I could've moved on a long time ago.
Random Fact: When Western Art was first introduced to Japan in the late-19th century, nudity was a topic of intense debate as many Japanese at that time find it absolutely immoral and disgraceful. Some of the first Japanese artists to defend nude paintings are *Kuroda Seiki* (sometimes called "father of Japanese Western Art") and *Kume Keiichiro* who wrote an entire ESSAY on the human body as the pinnacle of beauty....think about that

The only thing I don't like about him is not even one of his traits but the fact that the rest of the group apart from Futaba and Haru give out some serious "well, meh, okay, we'll let you tag along" vibe. But that's probably just me :)
If you like yusuke
Search up jun from persona 2, they are almost the same person lol
YES
@Egg Boi They're talking about Yusuke if you didn't notice lmao
@Egg Boi Oh holy shit holy fuck my bad, forgot about that
I went through both Kamoshida and Madarames palace and out of both palaces I actually miss this one. So creative and beautiful. This game is art!
Exactly, I loved Madarame's and Sae's the most due to their uniqueness, amazing theme, and overall setting for the characters.
Hi Yusuke
This song is very chill.
I love it.
The chillest.
I can agree to this my blue haired friend.
dumb comment
I love you yusuke
Real
Those _laser grids_ almost made me cry. It's not such a dangerous trap but it FEELS so nerve-wracking!!
Especially in that room where you also have to maneuver around 4 guys in the open Q_Q
Eh once I realized that enemies cannot see through the lasers, just like how they cannot see Joker through waist-level/chest-level objects, I had no worries.
Ugh same here. I slowed to a crawl everytime i went near one of those. At least the music (and yusuke) is rad..
dude. just hold da third eye xD
SchwaAkari How the fuck did that make you cry? What in the actual fuck?
Indeed. Personally I love how the whole of it is an unrelenting critique not only on modern Japanese society, but global society as a whole
Yeah
If only you really knew what is going on behind the scenes in our world, and the entire history of mankind, you will find out that the truth is much worse.
@@apeculiarmingvase3800 Could you refer to an example so your point can seem more intriguing?
@@cloudshifter I would, but you'll just call me a "conspiracy theorist."
*Price, Ark, Freedom and Security, and every battle theme wants a word with you*
@@catalyst539 *don't forget sweatshop, lmao*
I didn’t include it because the area it plays in is Hell.
same. i heard this music and knew at the least the first section of persona 5 was a 10/10. its prolly an 8/10 game for me but oh my godddd. this ost is top 3 all time
This song always reminds me of the first time I visited Sapporo, Japan. Listening to this while going to sleep in my dingy little hotel room that had the neon lights of Susukino softly bleeding in through the curtin with a gentle snowfall coming down outside. Damn, this song is going to a nostalgic one for me, hell, it already kind of is.
This sounds so awesome mate!
How did returning to Sapporo in P5S feel if you played it?
My thoughts exactly
tbh we all aspire to have beloved memory like this to draw from.
Sus
Madarame’s palace is up there as one of my favs. It’s the quintessential “gentleman-thief” heist! The artwork, the infrared lasers, the over the top, convoluted plan to swipe the goods without leaving a trace.... it gets you pumped to be a thief!
Ambushing Shadows
Security Guards: Huh?
Secretary Lady’s: AHHHHHHHHHH

They were worse than the guards
I have a sexual attraction to the female shadows. Especially the ones in Sae's palace
@@BitchChill That's so random wtf

What I liked about Madarame’s Palace:
+Yusuke
+Stealing Treasure from a freakin art museum
+Jack Frosts :)
+ Dem Culture Refrences
What I didn’t like:
- Shadow Madarame boss fight is BS. (The Painter’s Right Eye can go burn in Hell.)
Madrame was hell alot harder then kamoshida but I still like it
I was WAY overleveled and took him down really easily. Sorry, but not really.
@@surgeco.channel8972 I kinda agree. I beat him on my first try without much of an issue. It all just comes down to spamming Media with Morgana, he never does enough damage or attacks frequently enough to beat it
just get Matador, give it swift strike, and it's a breeze
The fight was pretty hard, but that's why I liked it more than most of the bosses in the game :)
After finishing his dungeon yesterday I've realized that this theme's name and dungeon is mostly about his mom, which is heartbreaking after hearing what madarame did to her
Best theme, for best boy.
This is Madarame's Palace theme, are you saying Madarame is best boy o.o?
Valibriel Nope, I'm talking about Yusuke. I always thought of these dungeon OSTs as the newest party member's such as Makoto with Price and Futaba with When my mother was there and so forth.
True, except that Ark reminds me more of Akechi than Whims of Fate (in which he joins to the party)
cookiekatt
Oh, yes this is definitely best theme.
But as for best boy...
*cough* *cough* Ryuji *cough*
Joker is best boy!
PA: _Thank you for choosing to visit us today. We are currently running an exhibit for the Master Artist, Madarame._
_His work continues to push the frontier of Japanese Art. This exhibit exemplifies Madarame's Art. His mind is not tied down to cultural norms._
_He has brought forth new possibilities of Japanese Art. Not only has he helped to expand the art world, he has put great effort to raising the next generation._
_He is the torch-bearer for the modern mystique of Japanese Art. Everyone is greatly anticipating what his next piece will be._
Skull: ...Did you REALLY need to write all of that crap down?
Joker: Yes. YES I DID.
considering how off and sarcastic your dialogue options paint Joker/Akira to be, I honestly could see him responding that way defensively.
The song doesn’t sound as good without the TVs in the background lol
Someone needs to upload a version of this song that includes the PA!
Probably my favorite track besides 'Ark' and 'The Days When My Mother Was Here'.
😡😡😡😡😡 what about whilms of fate
Not everyone likes Whims of Fate.
Ark managed to keep me pumped through out the entire, long-ass dungeon.
So props to that one.
Ark doesn't feel the same without you know who talking over it.
you could just call it "when mother was there"
60+ Hours into the Game and this Track is still one of my favorites. Madarame‘s Palace was so good!
Is anyone else’s favorite palace Madarames? Hearing that rift while exploring is a treat
It's one of my favorite palaces in the game
I love how the calming effect it give off.
Maderames is pretty good for me, I love Kaneshiros thugh. Kaneshiro is just too good of a character.
It was just relaxing
Too bad last suprise ruin it
I would say my favorite is the Casino but Madarames is also really good along with the bank
palace music in general is extremely well crafted, the way you can listen to the music without even noticing that you are
its something that you subconsciously vibe with it
while playing i didnt even notice the different sounds but now listening i can remember so much all through just the music
GOEMON, STRIKE

Song title: A Woman
**Yusuke is in the thumbnail and picture**
Seems legit
(I know it's referring to someone else, I just thought it was funny.)
Yusuke: Would you prefer if I wear a dress then?
A R E Y O U A S S U M I N G X E R G E N D E R ?!
FuttyAndMuffins well, the song title *is* referring to his mother, and his mother is a female, so genetically speaking, Yusuke is also a female
well Yusuke is best girl after all
I thought the guy was a she too
I could listen to this for hours on loop.
And that's exactly what I'm going to do.
This is my favorite palace theme in the whole game. It's just so nice and smooth. I could listen to it for hours
Just picked up my "Take Your Heart Premium Edition" copy of this game at my local Gamestop a little over an hour ago! I love this song
if you bought it a little over a hour before making this then how did you listen to this? unless you had listened to it because it took me a minimum of 8 hours to complete the first dungeon
Heavens Rev Premium edition includes the soundtrack CD.
Ray McMahan oh i didn't know that. sorry i didn't mean to sound offensive.
Yusuke, the best waifu lol
Gustavo Rossi Excuse me, we all know best girl is Ryuji..
Jamie Metcalfe
He's 2nd best girl,
Yusuke is number 1.
PessimiztcBurger i see you have a correct opinion
"Would you prefer if a dress as a woman?"- Yusuke
Ugh man. I know the feeling.
This is one of my favorite themes in a video game ever. It matches the whole vibe of going into your second palace and the first one not being a fluke, but a real life experience of changing things up.
Still playing through this game, but so far this has been my favorite Palace theme, hands down. I looked forward to exploring this palace just to be able to hear the theme.
i love yusuke so much!! such a lovely personality to add to the p-thieves
Kylierenema Yusuke is best girl, haha
Rn Tz, No, it’s a joke.
Perhaps the most chill song from the game, and i love it so so much
I love the usage of photo copiers at around 1:15 it fits in so well
Dark and foreboding synths, an overpowering deep drum beat blended with orientalist melodies creates a theme that I think not only captures the identity of the palace as well as Madarame himself, but also Yusuke’s growing pain as he learns more sinister secrets that his sensei has withheld from him.
Something about this song and Madarame's palace really makes you feel like an actual Phantom Thief while playing through it.
Finally a song about something a persona fan would never get
other video game songs: *insert cool name here*
Persona 5: *a w o m a n*
I love the title so much
I actually like it and it fits so well, given the mystery behind the "Sayuri" and it's real meaning and origins
@@felix5012 yes its just funny that its ~"a woman"~
@@felix5012 and if you know what the meaning behind the Sayuri means then this theme kinda becomes depressing

This theme slaps so hard. Gives such a chill vibe
Yusuke is a goat. He is so calm and real bro love that dude
This track has gotten me through so many homework problems and study sessions. Definitely one of my top 5 favorite tracks of the game.

@@PanPanokola a bit late but probably he or she meant that it is one of the top tracks of every game ever, not just P5 lol
if thats the case i agree
If you listen carefully, you can see the beats that represent the infinite love of yusuke for the lobsters and his obsession for them.
His palace is also eerie cause of all the portraits of his pupils that he plagiarized from

these chords bro. holy clashing.. an the harmonies.. meguro a legend
When you give Shiki-Ouji the aux cord 😂😂
When playing P5R I was excited to listen to this again after 3 years
There's something about this song that makes it very adictive to me.
I don't get tired of listening
One of the best palace themes of P5, but heavily slept on.
unsettling vibes are great. one of the best themes
This and Futaba's palace theme are my favorites.
The most atmospheric music in whole game. Loved when I was making a little break time and going smoke cigarette while this was playing.
It is time to play this game again ! Can’t wait.
Now it is time play again, but Persona 5 Royal on PC
It's like I'm looking at a diary lol
I really love the bell part, it's so cool
this song's name is actually really sad if you got to the end of the palace but I won't spoil it for people who haven't
I’m on Kaneshiros already. You can tell me
@Sofia-k7m2obasically
It’s meant to refer to the paint “Sayuri” which is a self portrait of Yusuke’s mom and how Madarame not only let Yusuke’s mom died but basically vandalized her painting by covering up the baby Yusuke on it
What a calming theme.

Thanks absurd orpheus. I've listened b4 a while now and just wanted to say thanks for uploading this music. Lifts my spirits. Y know
Let's see, Yusuke's arcana is Emperor, which when upright, means Authority, Establishment, structure, a father figure. What Madarame looked like to Yusuke.
However, the Emperor Arcana when *reversed* signifies *Domination, excessive control, lack of discipline, and inflexibility.*
Sound familiar?
A friend of mine was teaching themsleves to read tarrots and my mind was polarized between making a Persona joke or a JoJo one.
This song is peacefull, but in a forcefull kind of way, as if the museum itself is DEMANDING you to go by its slow tempo.
this games soundtrack is so nice, i love persona 4’s the most but this song sticks out to me
Respectable. I love a lot of songs from P3-P5R
I can’t tell which one I like more tbh. No more what ifs, burn my dread, heaven? Like I really can’t pick. Every game has amazing tracks
I passed so much time in his palace that this theme is craved in my mind and I'm all for it.
This has become one of my favorite ambient soundtracks recently.. 😅
You can date your teacher, a crazy fortune teller, or even the doctor that injects god-knows-what into you.
.... Why can’t I date best-painty boi?
Madarame's palace was pretty good because of all the palaces, Madarame's felt like a literal heist, especially when it was time to actually take the treasure
It's been almost 6 years? What a time flies
This was my favorite Palace to explore in the game.
Based. Such an underrated palace
I love how the music captures the aesthetic of an Artist and form it into some sort of music that shit requires dedication and that is what i call dedication
I've waited 3 whole years to see this song hit 1 million views
this is my go-to chill theme to keep on in the background. so good and relaxing
Easier then cleaning my brushes
I could’ve handled that myself
Honestly, this whole Palace creeped me out. The lighting, the colour palette, and this theme give it a darkly surreal vibe that’s quite unsettling.
My favorite palace and my favorite music, so beautiful relaxing 😍🌹🎶
There's something eerie about this song by itself. The more you listen to it, the more you feel that something's just really off.
I started watching shirrako's persona 5 royal streams which is my first time watching the p5 game ever. And i am lovin it, i fell in love with this soundtrack man, its sooooo awesome and perfect for a slick, cunning thief. Random Fact:
When Western Art was first introduced to Japan in the late-19th century, nudity was a topic of intense debate as many Japanese at that time find it absolutely immoral and disgraceful. Some of the first Japanese artists to defend nude paintings are *Kuroda Seiki* (sometimes called "father of Japanese Western Art") and *Kume Keiichiro* who wrote an entire ESSAY on the human body as the pinnacle of beauty....think about that
