It’s only “unique” to those that grew up listening to trap. The Griselda sound is an extension of early production from RZA, Havoc, DJ Muggs, & Roc Marci. If you don’t know them you got a lot to learn.
Thank you for this comment.... Can't stand people who think Griselda's style is actually something new or different... Don't get me wrong. I like them, but they're more of a breath of fresh air for those of us who grew up on that '90s grimey boom bap sound...
Griselda’s sound is a reimagining, fresh take on early boom bap. One can clearly see there is a difference in production techniques. They did not just put buffalo on the map they made buffalo a force to be reckoned with.
I've had that Bob James Nautilus sample in my samples folder for like 3 years. I even made a beat with it that I never finished. Sounded a whole lot like this one except, well, obviously yours is more polished and finished than mine. Nice work.
@@KavanDignam They both slapped, but that 2nd one is just nasty as fuck fr. Would've thought you were being sponsored by Griselda with this level of quality. I'm calling a million subs by the end of 2024 if not sooner. This channel is a gem fr.
I can tell you're semi new to the Griselda wave haha. Nothing wrong with that, but understand there's a lot you missed in the early Griselda days before you start making these left field conclusions. @@lubbers825
Unique Production????? erm,,, maybe to someone who didn't live threw the Golden era of Hip Hop,, Pete Rock, DITC, large Pro, Premier, ATCQ, Beatnuts, Rza, Edan , Kool Keith , Madlib, MF DOOM, plus many many more artists, so lets not kid ourselves here this is not a new sound at all or new production technics especially with the unquantized loops or beats thats old news, it maybe new to people who haven't heard it before. But its great its come back and is making headlines. I love Boom Bap keep it up.
I wouldn't call it unique. If you hang out in Jamaican neighbourhoods in Toronto, Buffalo, Syracuse, New Jersey, NYC: it's been the prevalent sound for 30 years. Griselda just bringin' it to the world this time.
Lowkey criminal to make a video about "the griselda sound" and not even mention Daringer. You need to listen to more of the 2014-18 era to truly dive into the "griselda sound."
I'm not mad about it lol its a free country dude, you can do whatever you want. I'm just pointing out that If you want to actually "understand Griseldas unique production" you have a lot of homework to do.@@KavanDignam

Map you’re saying it’s an extension of early production boom bap… that’s why it’s called modern boom bap lol
can't forget about The 4th Disciple. That dude has some og the illest beats from the 90s.
So true. Its only unique in this time and space. Its good they call it unique tho because I see this type of hip hop making a big return.

God damn bro you are insanely talented and criminally underrated

@@KavanDignamthe first one fs, the second one, imo, is not very fitting for a boombap style song and more reserved for trap. Still fire tho

make a frank ocean video plsss
Boom Bap forever, I don't put out much outside of 92-95, after 95 the breadth of the beats got too minimal and slightly depressing.
True... This ain't new in boombap
I think the first beat would’ve sounded better without the drums. Still sick but sometimes Griselda go with those no-drum or quiet-drum beats
