    a nice change of pace and great result . i have some DAK sitting in my pile of shame that i should get to sometime , maybe i'll try this method , though i'm not sure it will work with the much lighter German desert colors

      @@HeadHunterSix his talking about how it was doctrine to carry a large log on each armoured vehicle so if it gets bogged the log can help get the vehicle out of the mud, look up "russian tanks with log" and you will see what his refrencing

      Looks like Army Painter Masterclass drybrushes - they work wonderfully for this. Soft bristles with a round end.

    Using only a dry brush for the base coat on top of black is clever - those recessed details really pop. No need for a pin wash.

      contrary to popular belief, the red star was uncommon and primarily used(at least in ww2) for captured vehicles

    I have an idea for a home brew space marine chapter: THE EMPERORS HUSSARS
    ARMOR: chest and legs are gold, arms, backpack and head is silver, knees and shoulder pads are red, shoulder pad trim is brass, as well as vents for the backpack,
    WEAPONS: they favor plasma and melta weapons as well as close combat weapons
    LORE: the EMPERORS Hussars symbol is a horse head with wings (head brass wings silver) they work close with the inquisition and Custodes. They favor fast attack units. They also perform a lot of rituals, and wear things of red fabric on their armor. They have no successors and aren’t the successors of anyone
