Everyone always talks about Hades (who’s amazing), but Meg is one of the best female characters in anything ever. She has a wonderful arc, an amazing song, a likable personality, great dialogue, and a very unique design.
Loved this review! Also, fun fact about that Scar Cameo: it was Scar’s carcass. It was a little dark humor for Disney fans. It’s a callback to Zazu’s line to Mufasa, quote, “He’d make a very handsome throw rug”.

Frollos villain song 4. Circle of live lions king (okay its a movie score not sung by characters but idc) 5. Cant whait to be king in lions king
Nick, just in case you didn't know this fun fact: the reason Meg has such a perfect singing voice is that she was voiced by Susan Egan, who was also the original Belle on Broadway when Beauty and the Beast opened in the 1990s. Not the voice of belle in the movie (that was Paige O'Hara) but the original Broadway Belle. So Susan has been two Disney leading ladies, and two of my top 4 favorites at that! Also, just a couple months ago the book int he "Twisted Tales" series by Disney to do with Hercules came out, called "Go the Distance." Look up the Twisted Tales series if you haven't, it seems very good. Anyway, I haven't read the Meg one yet but I fully intend to soon and it gives a lot to Meg's backstory and she's the main character of the book. It explaisn more about the guy who left her and why she is the way she is. Can't wait to read it!
Pinocchio yesterday, Hercules today...am I in heaven?? I love love LOVE your appreciation for the Disney classics, and I hope you continue watching more! The absolute joy on your face during these reactions makes me so happy 😊
"Somebody call IX-I-I" Funny.. but those were Roman Numerals... and yes the movie is a mashup of the Roman hero Hercules, as the Greek version was Herakles...
That’s actually accurate, considering Disney made a Hercules TV show, and in that TV show, they had a crossover episode with the characters from Aladdin in it.
Fun fact: in the original Greek myth, Hera, Hercules' mother was the villain of the story. She hated Hercules because he was the son of one of Zues' MANY mistresses, and since she had made a vow to never again act against Zues directly, she dedicated herself to making Hercules' life a living hell. At one point, she curses him with an uncontrollable madness that causes him to kill his wife, Megera, and their two children. Yeah, Meg dies in the original story
I love this movie because it made me addicted to the Greek (and Roman) mythology. I'm actually a student of the classical languages now and I've learned the actual story of Heracles, but this movie still brings back memories!
All mythical creatures in Hercules. 2:40, 1.Pegasus. 17:25, 2. Centaur. 23:08, 3. Hydra. You cut off one head three more grow back. And the three headed dog was Cerberus.
Plus the Minotaur, Medusa and Harpies during 'Zero to Hero' (not that Hercules dealt with any of those in the actual mythology but we'll let that slide).
I remember funniest part as a kid was near the end when Hercules is fighting the titans and Hades gets covered in lava and ice "follow the fingers! Him! 🥶 The yuts with the horse!"
Can I just say that I absolutely love watching you just bopping along whenever there's a song you really like? It's adorable. And I'm so glad that you loved the movie! It's definitely one of my favorites.
Congrats on discovering one of Disney’s more underappreciated movies. It’s one of my favorites. BTW, you’ll hear Meg’s voice actress, Susan Egan, again in Spirited Away, which is so good it instantly tied Lion King as my favorite movie ever after I watched it the first time.
I loved Greek Mythology growing up but surprisingly I didn't see this movie often. But it is good to see this and see that you enjoyed it! You being in awe in the animation, getting emotional, loving the songs, and loving the movie as a whole has made it another great reaction!
Hercules has probably some of the BEST original music that Disney has made so far. It still holds up to this day. This is also probably the second funniest Disney movie after "The Emperor's New Groove" that shit was hilarious. "Whoa is my hair out?"
Fun fact : the artist they took in for "outside inspiration", Gerald Scarfe, actually stayed and worked along the animators through the entire film and his designs for Cerberus and the hydra remained almost entirely unchanged. If you want more of his art, I reccomend Pink Floyd's The Wall, in which he did all the art directing and designing for animated segments :) 💕
I love your reactions nick, it's so sweet seeing how much you connect with characters emotionally. You have an innocence and empathy that isn't seen alot 💜
My turn for the fun fact: When Beauty and the Beast was adapted into a stage musical on Broadway, Meg's actress-- Susan Egan-- originated the role of Belle. So she played two Disney gals
I Can Go The Distance is one of my favorite Disney songs for sure! Even tho the movie isn't exactly accurate as far as the greek mythology goes, I still really enjoy it. I was surprised at how little you knew about it as well, like the fact Pegasus is a pegasus lol, but oddly enough it doesn't bother me at all! It's actually kind of charming. It's always fun to watch your reactions and see you enjoy the show and learn some new things.

Hades gets such a bad rap in modern society, when I actually admire him the most out of all the Greek gods. He was the most honest, hardworking, and fair of all of them. But because he's "God of the Underworld" every modern representation makes him the equivalent of the devil.

26:39 "What. Are. Those?"
Hades predicted that meme.
Yep! He did it first ^_^
Nah. He didn't predicted it. He invented it 😂
OMG 🤣 i never caught that!
Everyone always talks about Hades (who’s amazing), but Meg is one of the best female characters in anything ever.
She has a wonderful arc, an amazing song, a likable personality, great dialogue, and a very unique design.
And an extremely sexy voice.
Meg: “Oh look, a couple of rodents looking for a theme park.”
Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Chip n Dale: “oooop 🤭🤭”
YES
The part where Zeus makes a constellation of Hercules is extremely cool)
I honestly don’t really comment this on reaction videos. But Nick is sooo cute with his innocence and his eyes are always so beautiful to look at!
Meg is my favourite Disney character, and no one can change my mind
Loved this review! Also, fun fact about that Scar Cameo: it was Scar’s carcass. It was a little dark humor for Disney fans. It’s a callback to Zazu’s line to Mufasa, quote, “He’d make a very handsome throw rug”.
Me: if he doesn’t like these songs I’ll die.
Nick: song is so beautiful he cries
Me: cries
So glad you like the songs, lol.
From zero to hero is my all time favorite song of all disney movies.
Edit: i just spent a minute to think about my top 5..
1. From zero to hero in hercules
2. Kiss her! Ariel
3. Frollos villain song
4. Circle of live lions king (okay its a movie score not sung by characters but idc)
That first ride that Astrid had on Toothless always reminded me of Pegasus's attitude toward Meg on their first flight
Makes me wonder if that scene inspired that one.
Pinocchio yesterday, Hercules today...am I in heaven?? I love love LOVE your appreciation for the Disney classics, and I hope you continue watching more! The absolute joy on your face during these reactions makes me so happy 😊
26:39 is literally my foverite scene
I felt Nick's "These two" so much :D
I KNEW you would love “Go the Distance”! it’s my favorite, and something I sang a lot and identified a lot with as a kid.
"Somebody call IX-I-I" Funny.. but those were Roman Numerals... and yes the movie is a mashup of the Roman hero Hercules, as the Greek version was Herakles...
I didn’t catch the 911 joke until years later. I got it now, though.
"I Won't Say I'm In Love" will always be one of the best Disney songs.
There’s a theory that the “shooting star” Hercules sees at 11:00 is Aladdin and Jasmine on the carpet
Oh, that's actually cool. I knew about Carpet and Belle in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, but not that.
That’s actually accurate, considering Disney made a Hercules TV show, and in that TV show, they had a crossover episode with the characters from Aladdin in it.
"Oh wait, that's not a unicorn. What is it?"
*"Pegasus!"*
"Oh, a horse!"
I'm dead XD
Thank you, Nick! Hercules still remains my favorite Disney movie and I'm really happy that you rated it so high❤️❤️❤️
"Go the Distance" is my dad's favorite Disney song.
*When I was a kid, Hercules was the first movie I ever saw at the movie theater, nostalgic af*
This is one of hubby's favorites. He's been disabled since he was 3, so he felt Hercules' "outsider" situation pretty deep.
Cool fact: This movie got an animated television prequel series where Hercules trains as a teen under Phil and its better written!
I like what you said about the Hydra. It reminds me of what they said in “Captain America”.
Goes the distance always gives me goosebumps.
I remember funniest part as a kid was near the end when Hercules is fighting the titans and Hades gets covered in lava and ice "follow the fingers! Him! 🥶 The yuts with the horse!"
I never watched this as a kid, I discovered this like 3 weeks ago and I'm OBSESSED!!!!
Meg is voiced by Susan Egan, who originated the role of Belle in the original Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast. She was awesome in it.
If the Muses weren't in this movie, I wouldn't love it half as much, the songs are so great!
Can I just say that I absolutely love watching you just bopping along whenever there's a song you really like? It's adorable. And I'm so glad that you loved the movie! It's definitely one of my favorites.
If I remember correctly, the woman who voiced Megara played Belle on Broadway
She also voiced Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond from Steven Universe.
Oh god now that you've said that, I'm gonna hear Meg every time I listen to the broadway soundtrack 😂
One of my favorites of the old Disney movies. This one is just a masterpiece
I'm so happy you watched it! Great reaction!! 💕
My turn for the fun fact:
When Beauty and the Beast was adapted into a stage musical on Broadway, Meg's actress-- Susan Egan-- originated the role of Belle. So she played two Disney gals
Hades is HILARIOUS! Oh, if you haven't seen it, definitely watch The Emperor's New Groove. The villain, Yzma, she's like Hades. Crazy funny.
Oh lord this man won't survive The Iron Giant.
You have more empathy in your pinky finger than most do in their entire being, always a pleasure watching your heart fill up with these movies !
This is one of my favorite Disney movies. Not to mention, the songs are some of the best I've heard.
19:49 "He made me an offer I couldn't refuse."
Most people know what that was a reference to, even if they've never seen it! :)
I have not seen Hercules ever since but I’ll watch it with you right now
0:45 That narrator is my favorite actor- Charlton Heston. :)
I’ve never watch this Hercules but I watched a live action Hercules movie and imma watch it right now with a reactor
Same
Hercules is such a great movie, one of my favourite animated movies as a kid. Used to sing to go the distance all the time.
Have you ever watched Ferngully: The Last Rainforest? I’d love to see your reaction! 🧚🏻♀️
Yes! I hope he watches this one! Love that movie!
I would be awesome if he did! 🤩 one of my favorite movies
That movie was kinda traumatizing to me 😦
This movie is good but also really weird so I'd like to see his reaction lmao
It’s funny cause hades is a better person than Zeus in actual mythology
2:20 "Is he like the messenger?"
Yes, Hermes is the god of messengers, travelers, thieves and speed.
You gotta check out The Emperor's New Groove. It's hilarious and heartwarming.
Easily one of the best disney movies in my opinion
Fantastic movie!!! Absolutely hilarous!
As an actor, if I ever need to cry on command I only have to think “Thats Phil’s Boy!”
And it’s a breeze from there. Lol
this and Pocchahontas were two Disney movies I grew up on.... my older siblings were super annoyed with me and my younger brother for watching them again and again :D
YES!!! FINALLY HERE WE ARE!! I already know this is gonna be fun for you! excited for you even before clicking play! the songs here always pump me up!
26:38 The meme that started it all! 😂
just wanted to say i absolutely love your channel. i have been subscribed for a month now and i love that you put your emotions into every reaction it really shows how the movie can touch someone. love it man and can’t wait for mrs doubtfire
Thanks so much!
Okay but imagine a live action of Hercules with Chris Hemsworth as Zeus and Tom Hiddleston as Hades...
Idk if anyone mentioned this but..
Ladies singing are the Muses= goddesses of Information, storytelling/poetry, song, dance and the arts in general.. a reason why they're in just about every song.
And where the word "Museum" comes from
Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies😍loved ur reaction to the movie
This guy is so cute he always looks like he is about to cry.😭❤️
Meg voice actress is also the voice of Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Rose Quartz from Steven Universe. She is really a good singer.
Belle's voice actress was Paige O'Hara. I will agree that Susan Egan is a gem, however. She's a great VA and singer, for sure.
Paige O'Hara was the voice of Belle, Susan Egan (voice of Meg) was the original Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Broadway.
@@ifeelpretty5790 She was Belle on Broadway, yes.
Yooooooo, did I hear that right? Freakin Mrs. Doubtfire?!?!? I'm so hype for that one lol
Hades gets such a bad rap in modern society, when I actually admire him the most out of all the Greek gods. He was the most honest, hardworking, and fair of all of them. But because he's "God of the Underworld" every modern representation makes him the equivalent of the devil.
26:15 Aww, that’s so sweet. He even sent some money to his foster family. Now they’ll have enough money for a lifetime.
If you’re up for an emotional movie that isn’t animated, “The Book Thief” is beautiful
