Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport is a key part of delivering an integrated transport system for the Western Parkland City. The Western Parkland City covers parts of Greater Western Sydney including the established centres of Greater Penrith, Liverpool and Campbelltown-Macarthur.
The airport will support nearly 28,000 direct and indirect jobs by 2031 and underpin the development of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, at the centre of the Western Parkland City.
The Aerotropolis will support around 200,000 new jobs in industries such as aerospace and defence, manufacturing, freight and logistics, tourism and research.

Taking the cho cho train or driving on the M7 or M5 they call a car park will take hours to the city.
I will be taking the connecting flight from this new airport to Kingsford Smith airport which is only 15 minutes from the city. This will be the most popular route from here! Lol
Looking at the graphics of the Airport car parks they appear to be so much smaller then shopping centre car parks . Even if in time the car parks go up they will be so restricted I think. Just an old guys thoughts.
I see a flaw in the system at St Mary`s. West of St Mary`s has only one up and one down line to which services both passengers and freight trains. Freight train brake downs happen often blocking all rail traffic . It would be a shame to see airport travellers forced to exit at St Mary`s to connect with buses or taxis .
From St Marys it is a minimum 4 tracks to the city. So a break down could cause some disruption, but it depends on where it occurs. I would think most of the passengers would be heading East though. Plus, Sydney Trains have their control centre. They just need to learn how to use it properly, instead of defaulting to shutting down the line and using busses. What is the point of all those "Y" junctions in Sydney (obviously not on the Blue Mountains Line) offering alternate routes, if you only use them for train positioning/excursion services. Of course the Bankstown Line conversion will remove one big option, but they don't seem to use it anyway when there is a problem.
The breakdowns occur west of St Mary`s which is only single line either direction thus disrupting all city bound with a lack of information as to how long the delays will be. @@daveg2104
Are you aware of the Western Sydney Freight Line, stages 1 and 2? - If not, do a search.
@@tacitdionysus3220 There will still be freight coming over the Blue Mountains for a while yet. As far as I am aware. But yes, the Sydney freight line extension will free up space for more passenger trains. At least Ron's comment was more sensible than a lot of comments I see that are Metro related. Like the person complaining under another Western Sydney Airport video about how the "light rail" running on the roads was going to cause traffic problems. lol
@@daveg2104 Thanks for your reply Dave. The freight line will be a challenge in places. Will be interesting to see more details of the engineering. If you know of any further developments, please share. In some ways I think the freight projects are even more important than the passenger lines; at least in terms of contributing to employment and investment in the area.
Don’t get me wrong I understand most of this project it annoys me that it’s narrated by an American but the thing that gets me this commentary says that there will be a rail bridge within the airport precinct I was under the impression that it was underground within the airport
Yeah. They were reading from the "Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport Project Overview". A 20m rail bridge within the airport is also mentioned in other documents websites. Maybe these were preliminary proposals.
Yeah, he is quoting one of the local project websites. At the Northern edge of the airport, a bridge is under construction enabling Elizabeth Drive to go over two underpasses for (1) the rail lines and (2) the M12 airport entrance. That might be it, but it's a bridge OVER the rail line (with plenty of room for much more than two tracks). Drive past on Elizabeth Drive and you will see the two underpasses. At the moment, Elizabeth Dr runs just south of the underpasses, and level with them, on its current alignment. The bridge is fairly advanced, and Elizabeth Drive will probably soon enough have Elizabeth Drive traffic redirected over it.
I don`t see any basic support infrastructure such as underground sewage mains, water supply ,electricity supply and telephone lines to support stations and new buildings that will be built. Is it not better to provide these at first or like always dig up and add after at greater expense and disruption.
There are already services in the area. But yes, they would need to be "beefed" up and expanded. I'm pretty sure they are/will do that, because the new airport will need them, for a start. The services will no doubt be underground, so considering this project has been underway for a few years, I'm not too sure on what you would expect to see. I know there is a new water treatment/recycling plant being built near the new airport.
The government is talking a new city inprogress so I would imagine the indrastructure would need to be exstensive and in full swing now.

Hmm. I was out at Luddenham today. Lots of places with stacks of large water supply pipes ready for installation, power supply facilities, fuel tank farm at the airport, etc.
@@tacitdionysus3220 Could you imagine building a project like that and thinking "Uh, we forgot about the water, power and sewerage". Although there is Berlin "Willy Brandt" Airport in Germany. So never say anything is impossible.
With our government planners nothing would surprise me , look at the Rozelle interchange drama.

This video is a mishmash of graphics and congratulatory remarks only a public relations copywriter could conjure up. It’s repetitive and covers the same subject over and over. It lacks substance and nuance. The graphics are brief, lasting about two seconds, so whatever purpose it had is lost in the shuffle.

Did you click on the site to see what else it has? I did, and it has lots of short, light descriptions of projects in numerous countries. There's a place for that, but I wouldn't expect it to give huge details about any one of them.
