    This team made me fall in love with Bradford and Rugby League.

    We NEED more of this super league!
    The St Helen’s team of 2006 would be great at this. Sean Long, Paul Scunthorpe and Jon Wilkin (he loves the sound of his own voice) would be ideal!

    My favourite sporting programme has always been America's Game. *PLEASE* keep this idea going! You've got all the footage and fabulous seasons/teams to show! 👏👏👏

    Brilliant watch. 👏. What the hell happened to Bradford. Its such a shame. Use to love going over there and watching Saints play the bulls. Great days. Hope they one day return to the super league.

    Some of my old customers in this (Lesley Vainikolo, Joe Vagana, Shontayne Hape, plus Tevita Vaikona who left in 2004), along with Leon Pryce who apparently lived half a mile up the road from me when he still lived with his parents (who might still live there for all I know), and Robbie Hunter-Paul who apparently used to live next door to one of my cousins in Oakenshaw, however he had already moved before I knew.
    I once had to tell Lesley Vainokolo that he can't walk around the shop eating a massive packet of crisps before he has paid for them, as most of the staff had no idea who he was, plus the ones who did recognise him were too scared to tell him.
    He just apologised, and that was it.

    It was fitting that they beat their Yorkshire rivals in the grand final i think if we hadn't have had injuries to key players i think it would have been another Saints vs Bradford final that year.

    Robbie, Leon and JP three monsters for the Bulls and Rugby League in general. Buying iestyn harris was a stupid decision, and it cost us JP and about 500k, and look what happened there after.
    Not having a dig at harris, but I'd love to know why we signed him.
    We didnt need him imo

      We didn't, he wasn't even that good when he played. Only thing I remember about him was when he scored a drop goal in the final against Leeds. If we didn't sign him I reckon we'd still be up there instead of being mid table in the championship

    If we didn't buy Iestyn Harris out of his agreement with Leeds (which was when he returns to rugby league from union he will instantly go to the Rhinos) I think we will still be a big club in the Super League instead of being mid table in the championship

      Harries didn't play in the NRL. He went to Rugby Union. I do Agree the Bulls payed way too much for him. They also spent large on marketing in those 5 years. They also didn't invest into the youth team. Witch was there downfall.

    • @patrickmarsh8387
      @patrickmarsh8387 2 года назад +1

      @@orinorio1 yeah thought it was either NRL or Union but should have never bought him, sad how much of a downfall we have gone through

    • @tomclough705

      @@orinorio1 didnt invest in the youth team? Are you talking about the same Bradford Bulls that even in administration the team still produced super league talent?

    • @orinorio1
      @orinorio1 2 года назад

      @@tomclough705 Na the spur league talent that BB have brought through since they went through Administration.

    • @orinorio1
      @orinorio1 2 года назад +1

      @@patrickmarsh8387 Yeah. I'm a Wigan fan. When SL started BB really took to summer rugby. They had such amazing players. Robbie Paul was my favorite, Lyon Price. When they were on sky the ground and entrainment before the matches were great. They even had Jets flying over at one point. BB really were the team that took the SL and made it there own. The owners though got dragged in to spending money. Wigan and Saints along with Leeds did it right. They brought the youth through and never spent big big money on lots of players.

    It’s a shame that rugby league doesn’t draw the same level of spectators. The game has been so poorly marketed until now.
