In the days of Malachi, the people had become spiritually lazy and morally apathetic about things. They had grown complacent about Ministry (to God), about Marriage, and about Money. These are important areas for us to examine in our own lives as well. What does our devotion to God look like? Are we committed to marriage or do we have a casual view of divorce? How do we manage the resources God has given us? These are all questions we need to face too. Join us for our study in Malachi as Pastor Gary addresses these issues.

Please read the 4 chapters of Malachi. Less than 10 minutes of your time, study to show thyself approved, in other words, read it for yourself. Read how many times it says oh priests and the sons of levi. The prophet is preaching to the priests who have robbed God of food for the offering, not money. The tithe was a national food tax for the Jewish people to support the food sacrifices and food for the priests and their families. We should give as much as we can, even more than 10%, especially to missions.

I agree ☝️. Churches need more preacher/teachers who preach straight from the Bible. No adding or taking away. Tell it like it is, no sugar coating the truth. It’s the only way a person can understand what can and can not be done and not be against the Word. Events that are forgiven and those others that He says no to. Plain and simple. This was a good lesson and thank you 🙏

Pastor Gary my husband and I have been doing at home Bible study, and we have and still do enjoy your teachings. Our favorite one is when u are talking about the rapture, and u say well I suggest u get right with Jesus so u can be raptured with the pilot. Thank u for getting the word out to us in Marysville Washington.

As an older never married Christian I can’t know your hurt as a widower but I can empathize with you since I also lost a spouse in a different way . No , not all issues receive equal attention in the church, as a life long single I know that. I can only say calmly speak out about how you feel about your situation so that others will know what you’re going through.

As a widow/er, you have fulfilled the marriage covenant because "death" has parted you from your spouse. The Bible is very sympathetic to widow/ers. They were to be taken care of by fellow Christians if the widow/er had no other family. If they so choose, widow/ers are free to remarry, according to the Bible.

Thank you for talking about separation being ok for abuse. My young self young in faith never heard or explicitly read it was ok to leave for being abused. He left me by the grace of God.
Also, New Testament tithing information is helpful. Some say you do not need to give the full 10. I am all about it.

I am 60 yrs old. I have watched my mom get beat up and left with black and blue marks! She would call into work because she had so many black and blue marks all over her body.
I do not believe God wants any of us to stay in a abusive situation. When I became adult I remember waking up with these nightmares of mom getting beaten.
I divorced my wife of 21 years of verbal and physical abuse! She was arrested ten times and walked out of therapy. She was bipolar! I had enough! You beat a dog long enough soon he’ll fall out of love as well! These feelings haunt you and they have affect on you! That’s not a marriage!

Interesting question. Jesus and His disciples received support and donations (i.e., tithes). Hospitality was so vital back then. Also, receipt of donations and support was why they needed a "treasurer." Remember, they had a money box from which Judas was stealing money.

You tithe on your gross because your tithe is a "first fruits." The tithe is calculated before anything else is "taken" away, even taxes.

Read tithing was old testament and it wasn't money. Now it's being a cheerful giver new testament under Grace. We are not under Law, but under Grace. No where in the new testament does it say anything about 10% of income. God wants a cheerful giver read 2 corinthians 9:6-8 ... Paul is for us today. Old Testament was for the Israelites and we are not under the Law.

What if they are continuously unfaithful. It hurts too much. How much is too much? Does God require us to stay then? I trust God - but how is he going to let him do what he wants when it’s bad but hurting me in the process? I don’t want to fail God but sometimes I feel like I can’t do this anymore.
