- In this episode I show you my own DIY method for metal polishing. My initial plan was to Zinc plate my Alfa Romeo fuel rails as per OEM specification, however, I decided upon doing something a little different.
I hope you find this video useful or at the very least entertaining. Thank you as always for watching.

Very good results.
Just a word of warning in case I missed any mention of it.
When using anything that spins to do these jobs definitely wear eye protection. I speak from painful experience.
Nice. Eye protection a must especially with that wire brush.
Sound work that Rick as always fella ! Lovin the jammy bottoms !
Hello Rick. Nice video. Just a question:
Why didn't you use the same injection rail polishing method to polish the intake ducts?
Thanks
Woowwww looks amazing. Perfect work. What is the material of the rail? I think stainless steel? I will do the same thing to my rails as well. Better than paint. Thank you for sharing. The best channel for Alfa Romeo GTV and DIY works.
You are to kind Sir. Thank you.
The rails are normal Steel as far as I’m aware.
Cheers on you for putting in the work, however, I feel like it would be better to wire wheel them, givem then a sand to even it out, degrease it and send it o be zinc coated. Then you have it perfect and most importantly protected.
Keep up the great work! They look amazing!!
Awesome work yet again. Are there any metals that you can't polish?
Hi Rick,
you fuel rails definitely look brilliant (positive pun intended!), however, you started with zinc plated (+yellow chromate) rails and what you now have is exposed plain iron/steel. I wonder what can go wrong?
It is perfectly fine as long as you keep them clean and polished. It’s something you definitely need to keep on top of.
Looking shiny.
Fantastic job.
Thanks Lee 👍🏼
These look fabulous!! I'm looking forward to see your bay in it's finall glory :) What's your plan for the plenum and cam covers?
Thank you Sir. There should be a little video on the plenum & cam covers coming tomorrow evening 👍🏼
Have you considered having them gold plated 😈, so its easier to polish them in the future as well. 😇
