Melanie said she locked herself in the bathroom and wrote this song after reading this quote from a book.
"There is a place in the afterlife people under hypnosis describe as a soul cleansing or a shower of light. A place where gem-colored rays of light shine through every inch of your soul, cleansing your spirit of the trauma it had experienced during your last lifetime. Restoring you to your original vibration."
No she wasn’t locked in a shower she was in the shower after reading the book and came up with the lyrics in the shower

the meaning is following a rough path till you find genuine love
I think it can be perceived in multiple ways, as I view it as someone coming and helping you out of a bad place (aka light orb) , and also there’s the metaphor of love being slow
The way she takes deep meanings and turns it into her theme in the song. Like you said, shes in the Desert all thirsty for love, affection and trust. So when this light that i see as the “light of her life” comes, she sings about all her anger, sadness, regret all disappear and shes not used to that type of that refreshing “water Love” its just so good😩

I got to see her trilogy tour last night and it was so magical, and during light shower, almost the entire arena turned on their phone flashlights and waved them to the music, it was gorgeous.

Why is the creature a snail?
"LIGHT SHOWER" is about a place, one where your soul gets cleansed from every bad memory, every insecurity and every mistake you made in your past live, I belive the creature is a snail because all the "bad" is represented by its shelter, something that snails have to carry. And the light the snail is following is a metaphor for acceptance, the snail is struggling to reach acceptance. With that in mind, I belive the whole video is a metaphor for our lives, we all carry insecurities, regrets, bad memories, but living through those experiences is what makes us get closer to acceptance, because those will make us be more powerful, wise, stronger. Sometimes we can feel like an small, insignificant and "ugly" creature, like a snail, but once we don't let those thoughts carry our lives but instead we keep trying, we will start finding new places, we will grow flowers (like the snail in the video)
And one day after all our work, we will look back and see that we went a long way, we made flowers, we found new places, we experience emotions, and that will allows us to reach the light (the acceptance) wich will break the shelter (the weight of all the bad experience) And we will feel free!
Now I know it can be a little funny to watch but I also think it's beautiful, so please Melanie fans.. don't look down on this music video.

Also another thing! [I believe it was said in the video but uh] a desert is a very terrible place for a snail, since it will easily dry up, but the light [acceptance] leads the snail into a more suitable place for a snail, and then leads the snail into the one perfect place where the snail finally comes to accept all the anger, insecurities and sadness and breaks out of the shell.

The snail represents how long it can take to find a good relationship like her and verde (Justin) that’s why the mv takes so long for the snail/mel to catch up to the light 💗
The current tour is titled the Trilogy Tour, it's divided into 3 sections (for her 3 albums), during the first part "Crybaby" she is herself without the mask and represents the character Crybaby, for the 2nd part / album she plays the grown version of Crybaby and then dies on stage to be reborn again as this 4 eyed being for the last part of the show. So she only wears the mask for the last part

Actually, you can go on tour. If tickets aren’t sold out yet, she is having her “trilogy tour” which she plays about 9 songs from each of her 3 albums! Crybaby and K-12 are her without her mask, performing. Then during portals, she has her mask on. It’s really cool, and I’m going July 31ST!

i think that the snail might be a refrence to how people might feel traped in a relasionship and then she found the right person and she becomes her self bc she finaly feels free
I am reminded when she switches to Venus and describes being searched for all while being covered in the “muck of the earth and sea”, on Earth; and finally finding the Light Shower to cleanse her body and soul. 🥰
I think the end could also be showing how like they became one and she felt freed from her shell because of the light

I agree with everything you said! One more thing I interpreted is the slime trail. I see it as her past, a trail of everywhere she's been, and the flowers growing from it representing all her past experiences and the beautiful things she's created and left behind. She can look back at her past, her trail, and see beauty and growth in it

The new trilogy tour is all 3 albums she's herself (crybaby) in first 2 parts the. She becomes the creature for the portals part of the tour.
Her purpose for removing the masks is because in the trilogy tour, she showcases her three albums Crybaby, K-12, and PORTALS! For the first 2 parts of the show (Crybaby and K-12) she doesn’t wear her mask and for the third part she does because it’s her nymph thingy.
Just went to her concert this month & I’ve been to many other concerts but hers was the best I’ve been to. I’m glad to have taken my daughter to her show for the experience of her first concert. Although she may be disappointed in other concerts being this one was so amazing. It was more like a show than a usual concert. It was so creative & entertaining! 🤍 LOVE Melanie 🫶🏻
It shows the love for someone else. The snail starts in the desert where snails can't survive but as she followed the light it brought her to the forest where snails survive. Where she cleanse herself found herself with the light (person) ❤

So basically, starts off in a desert (any kind of toxic relationship) where snails cant thrive, and the ball of light guids her to a rainforest (out of that toxic relationship, and into a loving place) where snails do thrive :)
I LOVE this song and video!! I cried the first time I heard it, I was in an abilusive relationship for years and have had so much other trauma in life I never thought Id find real love, but at 39 years old I met the love of my life and he changed my whole world. This song is soul magic to me.
Its like she's talking and letting her emotions out to the light and the light is searching a beautiful, safely place to comfort her and to let her free from the darkness forever (basically the scene when it went down and Mel ate it) l. Its so beautiful!

She is touring at the moment the “Trilogy” tour so she is performing some of her older songs all in one tour up to portals album so that’s why she is showing her face for some of the concert. It would be amazing to see live. I hope you can go see it. I’m hoping to also see it but I’m in Australia and so far no tour dates have been added for my country.
