    The impact wrench used to tighten and loosen bolts is just a large version of what a mechanic would use to remove and tighten the lug nuts on a car wheel when changing a tire. It is basically a motor operating from compressed air instead of electricity. The "white air" coming out of the impact wrench tool is just air with some moisture in it from condensation, it probably also has a tiny bit of oil with it (very little), there is usually a very small amount of oil added to the compressed air to reduce friction of the moving parts inside the impact wrench. In other words what looks like steam coming out of the impact wrench is mostly vaporized moisture and air. It would not be hot or harmful. A large volume of air is compressed in the air-compressor and on a humid day moisture is in the air that gets compressed, when the air comes out of the air tool it can look like steam or gas. There are water separators that can remove water from the compressed air that can be used with tools such as air pressure operated paint sprayers and other types of equipment when the moisture would be problematic. I hope this is helpful = )

      I would also add that by compressing the air, it concentrates the heat that is in that air into a small volume and if given ample time and mass for the heat to escape, when the air is expanded, there is less heat in the volume of air and it is cold. This cold air may also contribute to the water vapor condensing, it is making a cloud.

    Steam curing of concrete at atmospheric pressure has the advantage of accelerating the
    hydration reactions of cement. Consequently, the material develops compressive

      Hi there. Presumably, the shorter curing time does not have an impact on the strength of the concrete? I wonder if they use samples of the concrete material and carry out cube crushing tests?
      Interesting to watch though.

      @@johnpirie3800 John, concrete structures continue to cure after initial cure until 70% flexural/compressive strength is reached about 7 days after pouring or "placement".

    The white color of the cured concrete is due to the type of cement that is used. Some cement is much darker gray when cured. Portland cement is commonly used though the quarry where it's mined will have different shades. It is obviously a high strength cement to remain strong with the amount of water used which looked to be a high slump mix. Generally a high slump results in weaker concrete, a higher ratio of cement to the aggregate and sand will offset the high slump. Slump is the speed which the mixed concrete flows, low slump produces a stronger compressive strength. The engineers test the strength for the task needed. The structural columns had a relatively low slump, which gave them a stronger concrete, the water ditch/canal forms obviously didn't need that degree of strength, they are essentially a supported trough.

    日本の高度成長時代のプレキャストコンクリートは同じ用にして作られて、現場に出荷されたのである。
    円筒形コンクリートは電柱や基礎杭に用いられているし、角形の部材は側溝に使われる。
    その他にピアノ線を用いて作られる橋桁が工場で作られて、現場で組み立てるプレストレスコンクリートのは重田も製造されているので、日本では珍しくない。
    製造する機械やクレーンはおそらく日本から輸出されたと思う。

      私は50年以上前にこの製造工程を見学したが全く一緒である。
      当時見学したコンクリートパイル工場の現在の状況が気になります。
      コストなど大きく影響して韓国などに移っているのだろうな?

    amazing how some tasks are still manual, especially the cake baking bowls lifting on / off the conveyor and the final boxing and parcel taping. Yet they clearly have invested in some pretty good robots for most of the line.
    All that twisting and turning those people do, goodness knows how they are not crippled by repetitive strain injury.

    Very nice process. In the round piles it looks like they prestress the concrete using cables not re-bar, which is dead steel. The cables are also strengthened with welded radial steel. This produces the best of both materials. Good video.

      It is not cable It's just steel reinforcing bar or re-bar with a spiral surface pattern to help create surface friction to the concrete. The welded radial spiral is to help prevent bulging or splintering of the columns under load. You are correct that they pre-tension the steel bars.

    The longer the concrete cures after the Setting, the stronger it’ll get. It usually takes 30 days for the average concrete to reach adequate psi. It takes usually up to a year for it to reach maximum psi. much depends upon the formula. Today they are adding more more formulas for different concrete and its requirements. There was a time it was so much more simple some 50 years ago.

    You can see the same condensation of moisture due to pressure changes coming off the rear of Formula One cars under certain conditions. Compressors have systems to try and drain most water from the air that they compress because water and machinery do not play well together. Water does not compress and it can compromise lubrication. Nice video, very informative.

      IT IS VERY DIFFCULT TO COMPRESES ANY ELEMENT IN LIQUID STATE THOUUGH SO FOR THE MOST PART YOUU AREE TRUE. IT IS EVEN HARDER TO COMPRESS ELEMENTES IN SOLID STATEE, BUT IT IS VEREY EASY TO COMPRESS ELEMENTS IN GASSY STATE.     The "white air" coming out of the air gun is the condensation of invisible water vapor naturally present in the atmosphere that was "compressed" by the air compressor and when released coming out the air gun, expands adiabatically (look it up - cooling by expansion) to form very fine water droplets that are a form of cold steam, a process similar the creation of clouds when moist air rises and "cools" by expansion at higher altitudes.

    I noticed the hooks that they use to pull the concrete out of the mold are attached to the reinforcing steel, this is not allowed here in California as it is like a fuse of rust, it continues into the core steel where it can expand causing the concrete to fail.

    15:06 "White Air" is water vapor from the air supplied tools air supply. Without regular draining of the water from the air holding tank, you will see "white air" (water vapor) escape from the tool when it is used.

      This is one of the reasons it's not recommended to use an air compressor hose to blow out the dust of electronics. Electronics don't like water, and it's very easy for water vapor to appear.

      @@stickman17 Just curious: Is (or "Would"+"be sufficient") blowing the air through an attachment with several desiccant layers sufficient to eliminate the moisture? (Moisture is a problem in 3D printing environments, and it's even true of sleight absorption of water vapor into hygroscopic filament spools. They need to be totally dry in order to print without imperfections. So, as I understand it, it's always worth looking at what it takes to get everything totally dry in a 3D-printing lab.)

    I have done many repairs to similar molds. The running rings and rollers would wear out from such heavy use. I would load the molds into a very large lathe and true up the running rings. The lathe was about 60 feet or 18 meters. The molds I repaired were for concrete poles, like street lights, not pipes. Interesting to see how the final process is accomplished.

    "White air" is from moisture in the compressed air rapidly cooling and turning into small ice particles as the air rapidly escapes from being pressurized in the tool to "zero" pressure in the atmosphere. If a tool is run for long enough, it will form ice on the outlet of the tool. I presume the concrete is whitened by the lime added to the mix for curing.

    The air that powers the rattle gun is compressed, once it goes through the machine it loses pressure which means it has greater volume, it has the same amount of heat energy in a greater volume of air, so the air is quite a deal cooler, that means that any moisture in the air turns to Fogg. Air tools especially when they are used a lot get really cold and you have to wear gloves, as they can actually freeze up, they work exactly like the freezer in your refrigerator.

      Not exactly like a freezer ... but the reason for losing heat is the same.. when a liquid turns to vapor it absorbs heat it has to in order to turn change states ..there is no such thing as cold . Cold is a term that we use to describe the absence or lack of heat or energy ... heat or energy is some thing but cold isn't... you don't put cold in to any thing you take the heat out .. in your freezer this is done by evaporating a liquid under pressure..itbthen acts like a sponge and absorbs the heat then it goes to the outside and is condensend back into a liquid giving the heat up to the outside air
